Breaking In

It has a good concept, but a very poor execution. It plays out like a straight to home video release from the 80s. From the acting to the writing, it's does the very bare minimum. I would say Gabrielle Union did an okay job, but that's only because everyone around her was so awful.

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay

Eh. The same problems still exist with these DC animated movies. There's a lot of bad line reading and some cheap animation. Also, the lazy dialogue is really what keeps this movie from being good. That being said, there are a few moments that I enjoyed. The scenes with Doctor Fate and what they do with Zoom was pretty entertaining. The movie plays out like a grindhouse shootem up action movie... that's also a roadtrip comedy. It's uneven, but it's somewhat better than the Nu52 movies.

Batman Ninja

They'll need to reference this movie whenever they put "Batsh** Insane" in the dictionary because my god. They anime the f*** out of Batman even more so than Gotham Knight. Everything is outlandish and absurd, but you buy into it even when it gets to that insane final battle that you kinda don't see coming. My only problem with it was some of the animation because it needed more frames and I would have liked it if it was a bit longer. Overall, it's batsh** goodness.

Last Flag Flying - Solid film about returning soldiers and the effects. Despite the premise, it's actually quite funny and lighthearted at points, though it never forgets about the effects of war, and how it changes people. A good Linklater effort. - 7.5 / 10
