Wtf, like six sites promised "loads" of marvel movie news straight from Kevin Fieges (my closest guess without looking it up, but you know how I mean). All the sites mentioned a 12:00PM Pacific time release point. Yesterday... nothing... oo-gaughts... zilch... nada...

... not even an explaination or aknowledgement. Talk about major tease turning into BS. I want my news! I want my updates on Captian America, Thor, IM2, The Avengers. Dammit! I want to know. I N-E-E-D to be fed.
I want to hear how the scripts are going, possible actors/actresses, villains, guest stars, easter eggs, additional movies. I want official information! I'm dying here,, throw us a bone.:bh:

Okay, I'm calm now, but still disapointed. How bout you?

The uk magazine sfx has posted up all the info from KF just now:

http://www.sfx.co.uk/page/sfx?entry=saturday_link_a_mania4

Basically...

1. Marvel aims to put out 4 movies a year
2. The Incredible Hulk wil be returning in the Avengers movie
3. Another standalone Hulk movie is a possibility
4. Edgar Wright's Ant man is still in the works
5. Feige likes the idea of a Dr Strange movie(maybe with Blade)
6. Thor's alter ego Donald Blake , won't be appearing in the Thor film.
7. Will Smith is not in the running to play Captain america
8. The Avengers will be about saving the world, and will be different in tone to previous Marvel films.
9. Iron Man 2 is due out 7 May 2010, Thor is 20 May and The First Avenger: Captain America is 22 July of 2011.
10. The Avengers is currently scheduled for 4 May 2012.
11. Ahmed Best is in negotiations for the lead role in the forthcoming Howard the Duck re-boot. Howard will be computer generated so that the problems of crying children being stuck in a hot duck suit which plauged the last movie will be avoided.

Except for bolded...all of this is good news. I just wish that TIH didnt get the shaft

They are not gonna green light a sequel to TIH 5-6 years after the fact. Unless Avengers is a smash hit and Hulk's role is well received... both good bets I'd say, but we don't even know if Norton is coming back. Once Norton is confirmed, I am sure there we will hear some preliminary discussions about a sequel to see where Norton stands and to gauge the public's interest. I'd personally be suprised if Norton returns to do Avengers, so it may be all for naught.

Over react much?

We have had the most Marvel news over the past month than we've had in the previous six months.

Like you said Marvel should confirm there is going to be TIH2 not that it is a possibility.

Leterrier wants to do TIH2, Norton does, Gale Ann Hurd does, Roth does, Nelson does and the fans want it! I feel TIH did very good despite the negativity surrounding it due to Ang Lee's Hulk and seeing as Marvel barely had this film marketed. They have established TIH as its own film, that it was a reboot and is in the Marvel Universe of films. However I think it is very wise and most likely TIH2 will be after The Avengers and when I say after I mean a year after. Hulk needs to be shown that he is incredible in The Avengers to make audiences excited for TIH2.

I don't know how you guys interpret Feige's comment, but when someone says, "still a possibility"... I take that as less than 20% to be honest. And when did Norton say he wanted to do another one. All of his quotes for the most part reagrding follow-ups were pre-Marvel/Norton fallout prior to TIH's release. And even if all the amends and lip services have been paid, that doesn't mean a sequel is still happening. I like the optimism though, I just had that feeling walking out of TIH opening night that a sequel would never come.

At the premiere of TIH, when Norton was asked if he would do a sequel he said it all depends on the script. Gale Ann Hurd said the same thing I think, she said that Norton should do a sequel but it all depends on the script. I just think for TIH2 Marvel should let Leterrier and Norton write the script together from scratch. They both have a vision for Hulk and I want to see how it plays out.

:whatever: Yet Batman Begins made a lot more than TIH after a movie which was recieved much worse than Hulk, honestly, that excuse is tired.

At this point, my hopes for a TIH 2 are low, its a shame, though for me TIH wasnt as good as Hulk, it was a good enough starting point for a new Hulk franchise.

But you have to admit that the time frame between TIH and Hulk is much shorter than Batman Begins and the old Batman films.

I only put that "excuse" in there because I know a lot of people that refused to watch TIH because of Ang Lee's Hulk.

2 years isnt what you call 'much shorter' Sarg, its barely anything in movie terms

And the amount of people you and I know is hardly significant in the grand scheme of the box office. The word of mouth on TIH just wasnt good enough, the BO was average, the DVD sales were average at best, if the movie was so good, the WOM would have meant better BO and DVD sales.

WOM couldn't salvage the damage that was already done IMO. The fact that 'Hulk' was perceived badly by most (myself not included), coupled with the lame attempt at marketing that was made for TIH definately had an effect on the success. Now I'm not saying if you take those two factors out you'd have a billion dollar movie but IMO it would've done a fair bit better than what it did.

Sorry but I think thats ********, how do you explain BB doing so much better at the BO AND on DVD after Batman & Robin then?

If I kicked you in the balls and then a few minutes later I came up to you you would be protecting your balls....if I kick you in the balls and several weeks later came up to you would me kicking you in the balls still be in your mind.
Enough time passed between Batman and Robin and Batman Begins that people had forgotten about B&R.
