Personally I put TWS, GOTG and DOFP over TDK, IM because of TIH.

Yeah but 2008 also had Hellboy 2 which I loved. I still think 2008 has the edge for CBM years. But yeah 2016 could dwarf it.

Well then you can add Big Hero Six and/or Snowpiercer and that would just put 2014 over the top.

I don't really count animated movies and Snowpiercer hasn't been released here so can't comment on either. I will just say, for me, 2008 gave us what's generally considered the greatest CBM ever so that puts it over the top for me. I did love DOFP, GOTG and TWS though. But 2014 also had some poor CBM's were as 2008 didn't.

2014 may have been better from a cumulative quality standpoint, but 2008 was more monumental. It had TDK, one of the most notable comic book movies, and Iron Man, the start of the groundbreaking MCU.

Yep, and Hellboy 2 is in my top ten also. And it didn't really have a bad CBM like 2014 did.

Agreed.

I mean if you're going to downgrade 2008 for TIH, then 2014 has to be downgraded for TASM2. To be honest I enjoyed TIH better than TASM2.

Genuinely very excited for:
1. Civil War
2. Apocalypse
3. Doctor Strange

Kinda/cautiously excited for:
4. Suicide Squad

"Meh" or neutral on:
5. BvS
6. Deadpool
7. Gambit

Already despise with a passion:
8. TMNT 2

Agreed.

My original point was 3 of a kind, beat a pair.

This!

But yeah, 2016...just look at that list. It's absolutely glorious. The only ones I'm not looking forward to are TMNT2 and Gambit. I didn't look forward to Suicide Squad previously but having seen some of the set videos I'm getting pumped already. I'm not a fan of Snyder but at least he will deliver on some spectacular action with some of the most epic characters. And I have absolutely no reason to doubt on the rest of the films. Wow!

1. Captain America
2. X-Men
3. Dr. Strange
4. Batman vs Superman

The rest, either has me on the fence or not excited at all.

2014 also had a couple of average CBMs like Sin City 2, TASM 2 and TMNT. I enjoyed both but would rate TIH higher than all of them as well. 2008 didn't have an average/ poor CBM, 2014 did.

Batman vs Superman, easily.

It's been too long since there was a good live action Batman movie. I know most people don't agree, but I can't stand Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Dark Knight Rises, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, or Batman and Robin. Batman '89 was good, and Batman '66 was amazing in a different way. But I wasn't around to see those ones in the theater. My first theatrical Batman was Forever, and I've been sad coming out of the theater for every Batman since.

BvS and Suicide Squad.

Don't really care about any of the others, including Civil War. That would have been a highlight, but AoU was underwhelming enough to kill a lot of my enthusiasm for the Marvel movies.

5. Doctor Strange

Don't care about the others at all.

BvS and Civil War are still almost totally tied for me. I didn't care for the BvS teaser at all when I saw it online, but seeing in the theater got me really excited. I think Civil War edges it out just a little right now, because I KNOW that one will be great.

Snowpiercer is not a comic book movie.
If there is a comic version of the story, it is an adaption of the novel the movie is based on, like I Am Legend had that.

2008 also had this classic.

2014 witnessed this tragedy of a film.

I thought War Zone was 2007? 2014 had some average CBM's but non were as bad as Warzone for me.

I, Frankenstein is far worse than War Zone.
The 2014 movie is a steaming pile of $#%^, and I try not to exaggerate.
The 2008 movie is stupid, but fun.

Wow, yeah, forgot about that one, that was really bad and WZ was better.

X-Men: Apocalypse and Captain America: Civil War. I'm also curious to see how Deadpool turns out.

1. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
3. Suicide Squad
4. X-Men: Apocalypse
5. Deadpool

I may go see Civil War. If only to see how they introduce Spider-Man into the MCU.

Looks like people are more interested in the team movies and hero vs hero movies than the solos

The solo ones are newbies like Dr Strange. People don't know enough yet to be excited as the they are for the others.
