I would have to choose BvS because it is something that has never been done before.

On the other hand, a close second for me is Civil War which I bet is similar to Winter Soldier in terms of tone.

1. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (My most anticipated movie ever)

2. Captain America: Civil War
Suicide Squad

3. X-men: Apocalypse

4. Deadpool

1. Dr. Strange
2. BvS
3. Civil War
4. Deadpool
5. Suicide Squad
6. X-men Apocalypse
7. Gambit

Dr. Strange is arguably my most anticipated upcoming superhero film. I love that character, if they get him right it will be amazing. Dr. Strange is a classic Ditko creation, and I would love to see something that was essentially his brainchild come to life on the big screen.
Coming in at number 2 is BvS since it is pretty much the start of the DCCU. Man of Steel was the first one out of the gate, sure, but I can already tell this is going to be a much different movie so I'm cautiously optimistic. No matter how it turns out, it's going to be interesting.
Civil War is up after that. I am excited for it, but in certain ways I know what I am going to get. Deadpool is up next, that honestly looks like it might be my favorite thing to ever come out of the X-men universe. It looks like they're nailing it in every way, the costume and marketing are beautiful.
Suicide Squad is up after that. This ones a toss up because I was really looking forward to it at first, but everything about the joker has turned me off. Everything else about it looks promising, but that took the wind out of my sails for a bit. We'll see.
X-men Apocalypse is going to be good but again, I feel like I know what I'm going to get so I'm relatively indifferent. I'll probably see it opening weekend, but I'm not chomping at the bit to see it.
Same with Gambit. I really don't know if I can buy Channing Tatum as Gambit.

2014 may have been better from a cumulative quality standpoint, but 2008 was more monumental. It had TDK, one of the most notable comic book movies, and Iron Man, the start of the groundbreaking MCU.

2008 was absolutely the most monumental year in comic book movies. TDK is the crown jewel of the genre, and Iron Man kick started the biggest movie franchise of all time. I'd say 2012's release of the Avengers and TDKR was also a good year.

Yeah me neither. I am not feeling positive at all. I am kind on the neutral to negative with Channing Tatum. I don't hate the guy, he's good at what he's done so far. Have to wait and see.

Btw, your list and the reasoning is well thought out. Nice. I am not familiar with Doctor Strange, but reading stuff like that feeds my curiosity and I feel like I may be in for a ride whenever it comes out.

Next year will undoubtedly be the one that tests whether audiences can reach a breaking point on too many superhero movies. Yikes.

For me, it is X-Men: Apocalypse. Judging each franchise by its last entry, DoFP was way better than Man of Steel or Age of Ultron (as Cap 3 seems to be a backdoor Avengers 3). Deadpool could also be fun too. Doctor Strange, Gambit, and Suicide Squad are complete wild cards in terms of quality, but I will probably see all of them by their opening weekend.

1. BvS - Batman and Superman are my favorite heroes so I'm hoping for the best.
2. Civil War - I skipped AOU since it didn't interest me, but if this film manages to keep the focus on Cap, then I'm in.
3. Suicide Squad - So far everything looks great, although I need to see it action before I can get really excited.
4. Probably a toss between Deadpool and X-Men Apocalypse.

I don't have much interest in Dr. Strange or Gambit.

BVS undeniably, because it's Superman and DC and it elicits the most emotions and interest - and nervousness - from me. But the one I'm the most confident about, Civil War. Smart guys who proved that they know what they're working with and how to make those characters/concepts work without compromise. Also no imperious need to catch up on the franchise/shared universe game. I'm actively jealous of that film.

It wouldn't surprise me if one of the underdogs turned out to be the best out of the lot next year. For BvS and CW both have a lot going on and may turn out to be like AOU were they have so much going on it effects people's enjoyment of the movie. B v S has a slight advantage in that regard as WB will allow it to be as long as it needs to be, were as marvel are more strict with their run times. Something like Deadpool or Suicide Squad will be more focused and won't have the burden of setting up future movies in their respective universes.

As an X-Men though I can't help thinking Apocalypse will be amazing, Singer is back in the grove, and the guy is a damn good director, and I don't see there being a bigger villain next year than Apocalypse himself.

I think X-men has a lot going on too. With Jackman (hopefully, it's just a glorified cameo), you have 7-8 mutants you have to (re)introduce, not including Beast, Havok, Xavier, Magneto, Quicksilver, Mystique, etc.

It's almost as many in CW, except almost all of them have been established in other movies except for Black Panther.

I'm just hoping Singer can finally flesh out Cyclops and hopefully he's not underdevleoped like he was in the 1st few movies.

Looking forward to BvS the most.
Captain America right now is my favorite character in the Marvel Universe but I'm oddly not as enthusiastic toward Civil War.
I have little interest in Gambit or Deadpool.
Suicide Squad is the x-factor for me.

Again though I think Fox will allow Singer to make the movie as long as it needs to be, Marvel tend to be a schizophrenic when it comes to run times and put their foot down far too often for my liking.

X-men apocalypse I've been waiting for apocalypse ever since X-2 thought I would never get to see him in live action now were getting it and by a good creative team I can't wait

close second is Captain American 3 the MCU's moral compass is outstanding (Captain America)

I'm an xmen fan first but I couldn't care less about the gambit movie

Deadpool I like what I see but we'll see when footage gets released

Well Singer needs to work on fleshing out their characters, and I'm hoping that we will get an all out actual battle between the X-Men and the Horsemen then Apocalypse. And hopefully keep Wolverine from saving the day.

I think that's what we will get personally. In Singers plans for X3 Scott was going to have a much bigger role and I think he knows the fans want to see more of the character.

Batman v Superman is number 1 for me as those are my two favourite characters.

Suicide Squad, Civil war , Gambit and Apocalypse....don't really care. TMNT 2 , preferred the 1990 film to Bay's monstrosity.

But, I suspect the two which has the potential to be a sleeper hit, and really make a dent are Dr Strange and Deadpool. First, Cumberbatch, the guy has more acting chops than the entire Avengers team put together.
Second, I hear Chiwetel Ejiofor is attached, now that's some serious talent. If they have a decent story , a good director and special effects then I reckon its got every chance of being a surprise hit.

The same for Deadpool, if its done right would be the action/comedy hit of the year - the character has so much potential. Again, good writing and direction can make this a real winner

Having said all that, they have equal potential to be flops if not handled right.

Not bigger than James Bond.

I'm looking forward to Deadpool and Suicide Squad the most. Those two seem to be the most unique looking thus far.

1. BvS (it's Batman, Superman, AND Wonder Woman in the same film for the first time, plus I quite liked MOS).

2. Doctor Strange (it looks to be something new/different, plus I love me some Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor).

3. Deadpool (it looks like the perfect Deadpool adaptation).

4. X-Men Apocalypse (I really liked FC, TW, and DOFP. Plus we've got THE X-Men villain and younger versions of Cyclops, Storm, and Jean Grey).

5. Suicide Squad (it looks new/different. Plus it's got a really good cast/director).

6. Gambit (I like Channing Tatum, and I love his enthusiasm for the character. I don't know for sure if it'll work, but I'm willing to give it a shot).

7. Captain America: CW (I loved TWS, so I wanted to be excited for Cap 3. But I HATED the CW storyline, I don't like that they're making it a Cap-centric film, and I fear that there will be overcrowding).

8. TMNT 2 (some of the comments from the filmmakers, the change in director, and the set photos/promos have made me somewhat more optimistic. But given the last film, and that Michael Bay is still involved, I'm keeping my expectations low for now).

I'll probably end up seeing them all TBH.

He's referring to six film franchises (IM, TH, CAP, HLK, GOG, AV) collectively making up one continuity, a mega-franchise. None of those individual franchise however can compare to Bond or Potter ect...

In terms of box office receipts, the MCU is undoubtedly the biggest.

Nope. Funny how you coninue to ignore that the MCU is one franchise in and of itself. Why you keep insisting otherwise is baffling.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Cinematic_Universe

The franchise as a whole ranks as the highest-grossing film franchise both in the United States and worldwide, and has inspired other film studios with comic book character film rights to attempt to create similar shared universes.

I guess you know more than wikipedia :o

Then Doctor Strange, then Deadpool... Maybe BvS after that, but won't be seeing any of the others

Although were we counting it, I'd put Daredevil Season Two right up there with Civil War
