Now with an extra poll.

I really don't know myself. I was kind of hoping Imogen Poots would play Jean Grey in the X-men: First Class movie but then again that's starting to look like a dog's breakfast so it's probably for the best that she isn't.

Yeah I want Imogen Poots all the way!

She looks right for Gwen Stacy and I've heard she's a great actress.

If this is indeed the final shortlist, then Teresa has my vote...but I'm waiting to see if this is gonna turn out like the shortlist for Peter with a few more names getting added later on.

My vote goes for the best choice...that's up to you to interpret.

Poots.

I can perfeclty picture Garfield and her together on the same screen. Although if it's Lovibond I wouldn't mind either. But if Collins is chosen, that will be controversial.

If Poots gets it, that mean the two main characters are played by English actors. I just find this interesting lol Serves no real purpose.

I was torn between Imogen Poots and Teresa Palmer.
Poots would have made sense with the whole British angle, such as Andrew Garfield.

But there's something about Teresa Palmer, who is closer in age to Andrew Garfield.
I voted for Theresa Palmer though, because the fact that she's been in a kinda big budget film (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), that may help with the role.
A film she wasn't that bad in really.

But on the hype front page, if it was based on looks alone from them pictures, I would go with Poots

Teresa Palmer - depends on how you want your Gwen portrayed though.

Felica Hardy-esque pose lol

EDIT: new pic, false alarm lol

Looking through some pics on Google images, Ophelia Lovibond wasn't done any justice with that photo on the homepage.

Last Teresa Palmer pic, I promise lol

If someone could manipulate that into a green coat and possibly with a hairband, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Assuming the love interest in question is Gwen Stacy, then Imogen Poots all the way. She's got the perfect look for that role and is the only named candidate that I've actually seen act in something, and she was quite good. (and bravo to her for not changing that name. In this industry, that's pretty damn gutsy.)

Teresa Palmer has 'Felicia Hardy' written all over her. But I'm thinking/hoping the love interest will be Gwen.

Theresa Palmer for sure. She's got the acting chops and the look down.

Why are we all assuming that the love interest is going to be Gwen Stacy. Wasn't Liz Allen Parker's first love interest in the comic-books? Either way, I'd definitely pick Teresa Palmer, although ideally she'd portray Felicia Hardy

Good point about us assuming.
I guess it's what the majority of fans want though.
A more chronological love life.
I liked Spider-Man 3 (obviously it could have been better), but having Gwen appear after MJ felt like a jump-the-shark moment in the movie franchise

Yes, Liz was parker's first love interest but that was in HS. We're in college. Peter at this satge in his life has come a long way since Liz. I would also like these new movies to subtly touch on a pre-existing relationship between Peter and Betty too.

I definitely agree that the series should deal with all Parker's various love-lifes in chronological order which is partly why I suggested Liz Allen, although I appreciate what the subsequent poster stated regarding this film being set in college not high school.

Ideally, I'd love to see some lip-service paid to those early high-school characters including Flash Thompson, although I don't know how they'd fit into that college world bearing in mind that few of them were as academic as Parker.
