Nathan Fillion would still be the perfect Hal Jordan. If we have the 42 year old Ben Affleck as Batman, a 43 year old Green Lantern would also be acceptable.

Fillion looked like a 43 year old man six years ago. :o

I expect the fancasting of Fillion will end when he turns 50. I can't wait for that day.

Nah, they'll just expect an older Hal. Fillion could turn 80 and they'll want to see OAP Green Lantern who cant get his constructs up.

^:funny: The fancasting never ends. Nathan Fillion for my Grandpa! :awesome:

Honestly I don't have anything against Fillion but I don't see him becoming this huge moviestar that fanboys seem to believe he is destined to become. If anything he'll muscle his way into a small role in a Marvel movie on account of Whedon.

I know he's a popular actor within the Science Fiction/Comic Book community but Nathan Fillion is not a good actor IMO. It's cool that he's a big comic book fan, I know he's in some cult classic Sci-Fi movies and he voices Green Lantern in animated movies but he's just not a good actor. I don't care for his voice-over work for Lantern and I've never been impressed by his acting.

I'd much rather see his co-star from Castle, Stana Katic get a role in a DC movie. Still don't understand why that show isn't called Beckett, it would have been cancelled years ago if it wasn't for her.

Hal Jordan

Chris Pine is probably the best choice imo. and Star Trek 3 is apparently coming out in 2016, i don't know if he'll do more than 3 ST movies, so after 2016, he could be free. Justice League wouldn't come before 2017 so he could end up being cast

Pine is my top pick for flash. Has been for a long time

I'd be happy with that, and I still think it's a possibility.

Hal Jordan: Chris Pine
John Stewart: Chadwick Boseman
Guy Gardner: Jesse Plemons
Kyle Rayner: Ezra Miller
Star Sapphire: Emilia Clarke
Kilowog: Kevin Durand
Katma Tui: Olga Kurylenko
Ganthet: Ian McDiarmid
Sinestro: Mads Mikkelsen

Screw Hal Jordan. I like him but WB screwed the pooch with the character and the movie. I say movie on and have John Stewart as GL in a JL movie. it's gonna happen. I know you guys are holding out hope for Jordan but it's going to be Stewart as GFL. I can even see them throwing us a wild card and use Rayner.

Let me just follow your line of logic: WB screwed up one of the most notable characters in comics, but they'll be just fine with a lesser-known, similar character?

Hal Jordan is the foundation upon which the Green Lantern mythos is built, despite not being the first one. If WB can't get him over with non-reading movie goers, the other GLs don't have much hope.

I don't buy that. The "non-reading movie goers" won't give a damn about the character's pedigree outside the movie they are watching, so John or Kyle stand just as good if not a better chance of being a hit with them as Hal.

To most of the world, Green Lantern = Hal Jordan. Print or non-print, he's the tent pole of the mythos. No Hal means rewriting the origins of John and Kyle. Do you have confidence that WB could do that successfully? I certainly don't. We don't even have an incarnation of John or Kyle in one of the animated movies to give us an idea of how WB would handle another GL in a more mature story.

To most of the world, Green Lantern means nothing.

We'll have to disagree on that. I recently watched a documentary on the history of comics where GL was referred to as one of the most "enduring, seminal comics of all time". GL is one of the icons of the comic world.

Thats his point though, how much of the world is the comic world? To people who dont read comics (most of the population) GL is just another character they couldn't care less about.

I don't know why, but I've never been able to get on board with Chris Pine as Hal. Which is weird because I've always viewed Hal as very similar to Captain Kirk, and I love Pine as Kirk. Yet it just feels like a mismatch to me.
