Very predictable choice, but John Duhamel could be one amazing Hal Jordan. He both has the veteran vibe to him as well as the more cheerful magnetic presence the character needs to have.

I like Duhamel...Only issue is that he will be 45 and they may want younger. I had no idea he was that old. I figured late 30's.

Well according to the never-ending rumormill, they want Jordan to be middle-aged and Duhamel is Affleck's age. That's certainly a casting I would personally be a fan of.

Duhamel is not bad, but not that great a choice either. If he gets the role, it could be huge thing for him.

I just to feel that way about Armie Hammer before MfU and seeing him in interviews; I'd still choose Hammer over Duhamel 100 times (and Hammer is not my first pic by far).

Why is that, man, I think Duhamel could be a decent choice. Jordan should be a rather charming, likable dude with a bit of an edge. I could see Duhamel pull off something like that.

I dunno man, maybe I've just never seen him in anything where I thought he stood out. I've only seen him in Transformers being "meh" (even for that movie standards) and the show he used to be at where he was also "meh"; maybe he has it in him, I just hasn't seen it yet.

It's entirely possible they are aware that the green lanterns (they'll need to make it so there are many more than just 2 per sector for how large a sector would be) in that sector are otherwise engaged (maybe they created a distraction) and now is their time to strike after they've secretly set up camp just waiting for the right moment to strike.

I like duhamel. I think he would be good but maybe he might not be strong enough to interest people who got burned by the last green lantern flick. Oh well this one will be a shared universe and will have John in it which might help

I don't think they would look for very popular actors tbh. Maybe they could cast a well-known actor for the villain though. I'm still sold on the rumor of Luke Evans playing Sinestro.

Of the best possible candidates, I'd figure Hammer or a total unknown. Gyllenhaal isn't doing this film much less playing GL.

Yeah, I find him really underwhelming as a screen presence. Whatever else Hal has to be he needs to pop on screen as a personality to the audience.

James Marsden and Josh Duhamel both look pretty much ripped from the pages, but for me, both are pretty underwhelming actors.

I'd still like to see Bradley Cooper get the role, I know he's Rocket in the Guardians movies but hey, if Chris Evans, Josh Brolin, Ryan Reynolds and Laurence Fishburne can do it, so can he. Not sure if he'd take the role but he'd be the first door I'd knock on. Jake Gyllenhaal would be the next.

I like the idea of Cooper. Haven't heard him being mentioned before. He'd be able to pop as a personality onscreen for sure. And Rocket won't hold anything back. It's just a bit of zany voice acting. t:

and Steppenwolf captured the ring before it could find a new recruit or alert the guardians, leading to it being released onto earth as the destruction of Steppenwolf’s base releases the ring where it finds an unsuspecting Hal Jordan.
