I don't know, I could see it coming. It didn't grip me the way it should have. I mean, its not like the other characters... its 'average carpenter's son... no wait... i'm God's kid, and a extension of him on Earth, while also part of the holy trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.'

I mean... where's the acident? he was ALWAYS the son of God... I don't know, it's just not as tragic as a random accident blinding you and enhancing your remaining senses to the point of super human while also having to deal with your father being killed by the crime boss of the city. :p

he is soo boring...he is way too powerful....plus the whole water into wine thing...what kind of message does that say to the kids????

Spider-Man
The ultimate classic superhero origin, turning the downtrodden geek into the powerful superhero that still doesn't get the recognition he deserves. It begins with his parents' death. He never knew them, and so that instantly makes us sympathise with him. He's raised with his aunt and uncle, and, essenitally, is a wimp. He's bullied, treated as the underdog, beaten from pillar to post with very few friends. Really...he's us. He's not some big guy that no one can touch. He's flawed, he's hurt. Then, he gets empowered by a radioactive spider. He becomes Spider-Man - veryone at school idolises the hero he is inside, but not Peter himself. The reason I love it so much is because it shows his humanity...and that needs to be present in a hero if you're going to relate to him/her.

Captain America
The struggling artist drawn into a war, turned into a Super-Soldier and thrown into the midst of battle as the hero Captain America. A very complex character with a simple origin makes for some great stories. And when you throw that character not just out of his depth, but out of his timeframe, with his sidekick being killed simultaneously...well, I'll leave you to figure out that one.
for me its a tossup between these two gentlemen

Ghost Rider has a pretty cool origin

I'm more worried about the kids who try to imitate him by walking on water, and drowning in the pacific :(

wolverine has the best origin? you outta your mind? they are still freakin coming up with it on that ongoing series...which pretty much means that they are trying to come up with all the crap they can to try to make that charecter look good, which in the end would end up as crap anyway.
by the Cap is the best origin, since it is relatable to people who have hope, follow their hearts, and live to for the better of society.

magneto....hmmmm. can someone explain to me why that old man is so damn deisel....he was puny in the first xmen book.

stop hating ya crybaby bastard, he was a bodybuilder/Athlete before he used his powers then Waldy The Wanderer used his power to make sure he wouldn't lose it as he aged

Spider-Man, a geeky teenager gets bitten by a radioactive spider and gains
proportionate strength, agility of a spider and can cling to walls.

He becomes a super hero, and he is still only 15 at the time.

So original.

"so damn diesel"?

galactus' is pretty sweet sounding. Hulk's is the most heroic.

but overall, i think i would go with venom's even though i don't really like the character...

right place at the right time when all hope is lost, bam.

out of nothing comes potentially the greatest villain on the planet. genuis...

Galactus:

The lone survivor of a dying universe, transformed into a force of the cosmos. Everything he knew, everyone he loved is long dead, taken away from him from forces beyond his control and now his existence is to bring about that same fate to this new universe. He's forced to destroy worlds in order to live, it takes man hunting and killing to live to an exponential level. So he either has become so numb from the pain of knowing he's bringing about the same death that ended his own existence or he feels justified or even bitter about his duty but even the most stalwart soul will cling to life.

Wolverine:

A sickly child of privliege who drives his mother insane by discovering his mutation. Being at mutant at a time that didn't have an Xaiver's institute, where there was no lobbying for mutant rights, where you were reviled as an abomination. Killed on sight, burned alive, ect. In addition, to watching the people you love dying or coming to hate you, you're left on your own in the world. Fast forward several decades and the government captures you and experiments on you like a prize animal. You lose your memory thanks to this treatment, you endure the pain of having your skeleton coated in unbreakable alloy, and even if you wanted to die, you just can't seem to.

Spider Man being one of many Spider Men, chosen by the Spider god, is quite interesting, as is the Silver Surfers, for my runners up.

I like Silver Surfer a lot. The desperation which led to saving his homeworld. his love. He basically sells himself into slavery for the very force which threatened his world in the first place. There's a nobility to the surfers origin that most others dont have.

After that Punisher and Magneto are pretty cool. They're terrible people but you can completely see why and even agree with them.
Magneto is absolutely an evil man but he's an evil man that i'd actually side with. He's right to be evil.
Same with Punisher. If i were him i'd probably be the same way. His whole world was destroyed. He snapped. And despite that he's still fighting the good fight he's just doing it from the crazy side of the fence. The war is all he has left.

Finally i'd go with Spiderman. just cause it's such a powerful message especially in a world full of superheroes. Most Heroes dont have a clear reason as to why they do it. They're just trying to be good guys or whatever. With Spidey you know exactly why. It's guilt.

has anyone thought of cyclops or havok? those are 2 cool origins:cyclops:

Cyclops' is very good...Havok's has it's moments. Honorable mentions to be sure, but not the best...very convoluted at times.

well you know, its cool.lose control of your powers, cant hide that your not a mutant, fearing to get cose to anyone
