Which movie has to succeed next year?

I dont really understand the question. Are you asking what movie we want to make the most money, or what movie we are most looking forward to, or what?

I think he's asking what movie needs to be successful because it's important for other reasons.

POTC doesn't matter as to whether they make more movies with Jack Sparrow. That's Depp's decision.

How GL goes, some people think, will influence how aggressive DC/WB moves with other superhero properties.

Ok. I guess Winnie the Pooh 'needs' to be succesful because Disney needs to continue doing 2D animation. If that flops, who knows that might be the end of it.

What I have been trying to say is what's the number one movie that you guys are looking forward to the most next year that has to succeed for whatever personal reason it is.

I don't buy that, I think fans are putting too much stock into GL and how influential it might be, it's not really like the IM situation.

This one I tend to agree with to some degree for the sake of 2D animation.

Thor, Captain America & Green Lantern.

If these movies are successful, hopefully we'll start seeing B-listers like Black Panther or Martian Manhunter.

Green Lantern looks terrible. That's one film I know I won't waste any time with. Come to think of it, doesn't look like I'll be making my way over to the AMC very often at all next year. Captain America is the one I might watch if it goods some good reviews, but 2012 is the year I'm looking forward to.

Captain America and Thor which will effect later Marvel productions. I have a feeling they will both underperform.

Here's a list of films that are on the radar!

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn
Sucker Punch
Thor
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II
Captain America: the First Avenger
Green Lantern
Cowboys and Aliens

Maybe these too.

X-Men: First Class
Caesar: Rise of the Apes
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
Conan
Super 8
The Three Musketeers

The only ones I'm interested in.

The fate of WB is held in Green Lantern next year. Harry Potter is ending it doesn't matter if it succeeds, it will, but it won't matter. WB is trying to use DC to fill up the gap Harry Potter is going to leave. If GL fails then WB will have to find a new tentpole.

Im a little surprised so many people are so hyped for the Green Lantern movie. I know this is SHH, but it really doesnt look good.

I saw the trailer in front of Potter yesterday and most people seemed to like it , could overhear some people say cool , etc. One guy said "who is that?" and everyone laughed at the corny humor.

It looks like something general audiences would enjoy and girls love Ryan Reynolds . I'm expecting it to be a hit.

I think it has a huge chance of becoming a hit. If WB plays their cards right. Reynolds and the sci fi idea will already be the huge draw for the GA.

I'd say GL since if that fails, I don't see WB taking any chances on a Flash, WW, or any other non-Batman/Superman DC hero films. To a lesser extent, probably Thor and Cap as well since that'll determine how much Marvel needs to rely on Iron Man as their tentpole character.

People say that alot but I haven't really seen any proof of them supporting his films. He reminds me of George Clooney in that respect. Maybe GL is his Batman and Robin.

I think Flash is coming no matter what, but I wouldn't be surprised if the superhero flicks start coming out in the March(Clash/Sucker Punch) slot and move to summer if they're successful.

If it is a hit, it wont be because of Ryan Reynolds.

I hope Captain America is a hit because Chris Evans deserves more roles in films like this. I rooting on him to succeed.

I hope GL is a hit because quite a few of my fellow nerds seem to hate it sight unseen.

It's going to be a hit anyhow but I hope Breaking Dawn makes over 300mil because it's entertaining to see people who hate the franchise cry about it's success because they aren't bad movies aimed at men.

No they're bad movies aimed at morons

Some people{non-geeks| would say the same about Batman, Spider-man, GL, or any other superhero movie.
Dark Knight 93%
Spider Man 89%
BB84%

Aimed at "geeks" but still quality movies cause they're source material isn't dog excrement.
