The Dark Knight Which of these should be Batman's sidekick in the sequels?

I must admit, I have always been a fan of Bats as a solo act, and stylistically can anyone see Robin working in Nolan's version of Batman?! I suppose anything is possible, but what would he look like? As proved with Batman Forever, if the Bat wears latex then inevitably Robin would have too wear latex too, it just wouldn't work visually!! Stick with Gordon, that relationship still has plenty of scope!

I assume Robin has to come in if thiers a 3rd movie. Robins to important to the character of Bruce Wayne and Batman, Dick kept Bruce from becomeing like the villians he puts away. So i assume we will see Robin someday, hes way to important to the batman character to be not included.

I like robin, so I think maybe they should bring dick grayson towards the end of the movie. Don't make him robin until 3rd or 4th movie though

I think a lot of people are underrating the sidekicks because of some campyness from the old 60's show, the comics, and B&R. They can work easily in Nolan's batverse.
So you're saying they're campy in about every single version we've seen them in? So your point is...?

Anyway, Nolan has gone on record saying as long as he's directing the franchise, there will be NO Robin...

And Nolan is a genius. SOme folks may not see it and will fight it to the ends of the earth, but ultimately, what therye not seeing is Robin is a horrible idea and a slippery slope. As is batgirl, batboy, batdog, batcycle, bat toilet and whatever else from batman hell lol.

And Robin is NOT important to the character of bruce wayne. They can get what they need in another way.

*Because he's not talented enough to make him as intriguing and as respected a character as he is the comics.

Or maybe hes not foolish enough to play russian roulette and is smart enough to bypass it for less loaded ideas.

Someone could try to bring hair metal back, but theyd fail now wouldnt they? Dont bother ;)

How about just having Gordon and Alfred as Batman'sa sidekicks in the sequals.

you guys must really hate Batman comics from the sound of it.

Batman just needs Alfred and Gordon to help him eliminate the criminal underworld of Gotham.

One doesn't have to hate the comics in order to understand what parts of the comics don't work in film.

If I hated it I wouldn't be here to post about Dark Knight, There are some things in comics that I wouldn't like to see in movies since movies and comics are different.

I think Dick Grayson, around 12-14 should be added to the cast at some point in the future (not # 2). At some point Batman is going to need evidence runs, stake outs and criminal spooking done while he deals with bigger issues, deeper investigations or maintains his obligations as Bruce Wayne. That coiuld be glossed over, you could bring in Alfred, Lucious or Gordon to do it OR you could have Bruce train an orphan, and use that, like the other supporting cast, to flesh out Batman even more.

There are some things from comics that don't work in BB (Man Bat for instance), but a child ally with a red shirt isn't one of them. We know that because there was one in Begins. Stop being so blind. Robin's not campy in the comics... far from it. Neither does he wear green or short shorts in the comics. Neither is he a sidekick in the comics.

Though, honestly, I think I like the idea of Gordon's daughter helping by computer as well, it would be easier, simpler and more direct, however, Robin is one of my favorites... and he's classic, there's precedent for a similar character in Begins... and there's a lot of Batman character development available in the relationship... I think it'd be the best way to go...

I think Robin should be the sidekick that makes into the Begins universe, however, instead of being a 'sidekick' he should serve the purpose he does in comics now... being an errand boy and occasional undercover for the big bad bat.

12 year olds can take pretty intense training, especially if they're already professional (and olympic level) acrobats.

And finally, there's no rule that says Robin will have to have an army splunking costume... in fact, that would make little sense in the scope of the film... he'd have something slight and utilitarian if he had any costume at all... though, honestly, at first, he'd just be a background presence training... I highly doubt he'd "do" anything the first time he's introducted, just as Harvey Dent isn't evil in Dark Knight...

ok, use a kid, in Nolan's gotham city..... wouldn't work.... some 4'4" kid can not take out Ra's or even the Scarecrow, Bruce, who's trained for a good portion of his life could barely do that, and I doubt some 10 year old kid could withstand the training Bruce went through..... Robin, Batgirl, all them are lame ass characters

Dude a grandmother could have taken the Scarecrow. That guy was a pencil necked geek once you took away the serum crap.

I wouldn't mind seeing Robin or Batgirl if they were done seriously. I like how everyone insists that "this is how Batman is done seriously" when we are talking about a dude in bat tights. If done well I don't see how Robin is a bad thing.

Since They Are Mentioning Joker At The End Of Begins And Are Putting Him In 2 And Harvey Dent In Part 2 And Not Making Him Two Face Until 3 They Should Introduce Dick Grayson At The End Of 3.

No partner should be added to the storyline in my opinion. At least not yet or the next Batman movie after the sequel. And when I say partner, I mean, Robin, Batgirl, or Nightwing.

For now, they should just stick to Gordon and Lucious Fox. It keeps the storyline simple and available to origins of future villains.

I really don't like the sound of sidekicks. But, if they do use one eventually, it should be Robin. He should be done differently than he has in the past. He should be robin already when Batman meets him, and Batman would see that this kid who keeps getting his ass kicked wont quit so trains him to survive better, and then in the end they can't avoid being partners, sometimes on solo missions , sometimes together. But I like Batman on his own, in Batman forever having Robin brought a bossy over-serious side out in Batman that bored me stupid; I hope he stays on his own!

finally someone in a Robin discussion I can agree with

It will be Gordon calling on Batman. In Batman Begins, Batman had to enlist the aide of Gordon. And somewhere along, Dent will enter into it as well to help Gordon and Batman.

What about Dick Grayson? i would be happy to see Dick be introduced in the third film, as part of a gangster, possibly two-face storyline, (although could be too similar to Forever). however, i would like it if they only used him as a cameo, not showing any training or becomming robin scenarios etc
