The Dark Knight Rises Which villians are MOST LIKELY to appear?

Mad Hatter is really only strong enough to work as a supporting villain to help another. Since only the main of the rogues gallery have been utilized at this point. It's very obvious to me that the classic villains, (Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin... etc.) are going to be included.

Honestly, I wouldn't care if Mad Hatter was never involved. He's somewhat fun in the comics, but he just seems a little too over-the-top and cheap for these movies.

I'm going to have to put Zsasz again, for emphasis. We never did find out what happened to him in BB and supposedly he's still at large.

I doubt we'll be seeing Zsasz again, ever. I have no idea if Chris or Jonah Nolan is a fan of the band James but that seemed like the only reason for Zsasz to be there - to give Tim Booth a cameo.

I don't think anyone has said The Mad Hatter is actually plausible. To be honest a lot of people have posted who they think is most likely as well as who they'd prefer to see, along with ideas of how they'd like them to be handled.

I'd also argue against Zsasz being more plausible in any case. Calling the character Zsasz was just a way to get around the excuse for Tim Booth having a cameo and as a nod to fans of the comic. Other than the nod to fans there really wasn't a need for the character to even be referred to by name as he wasn't important to the story at all.

What was kind frustrating though was that in BB they dropped some hints to be guessed at, but DK didn't really offer us much in terms of a good look into who the next villains might be.

Most likely Maxie Zeus and the Ventriloquist.

What?? People are just throwing arbitary names without argumenting anything. I wanted to do it as well.

And they're realist enough! (realist = plausible, not probable.... let's NOT discuss the odds of a big company CEO wearing a black skull mask, please.)

By the way... if your only criteria for selecting the MOST LIKELY villains for Nolan is REALISM.... remember we're talking about BATMAN villains. That's how you end up with weird (but plausible, of course) stuff like the Mad Hatter.

Realism also means things that you can see in real life examples, things that you can relate to... and most importantly... things that are NOT BORING. The Joker was a terrorist with a Sid Vicious punk style going on. That can be found in real life.

And Zsas is not likely to return because... uh, he's not that big a villain. Realist... plausible... even ordinary by today's standards... but not that good.

How many hints did you get..?

I honestly think The Joker will be recast. He's too good of a character, too good of a villain, and it's even touched upon in TDK, "I think you and I are destined to do this forever." Foreshadowing, anyone?

My money is on Guy Pearce as the Joker. He's expressed interest in working on a possible third Batman film, he's worked with Nolan before, he nearly has the same mouth/smile as Ledger, and I think he's got the acting chops to pull it off.

Sure, there will be some people who think it's bad manners, taste, or what have you, but IMO, Nolan planned to have the Joker appear in a potential third film. And if Nolan is going to continue the franchise, he should do it the way he's always planned. Otherwise, he'd be stuck making a film he never wanted to make.

I dont agree with all of it but I think some would like to see it
http://www.joblo.com/next-bat-villain-odds

This is how I see it
1)Riddler, Catwoman, and Penguin
All within Nolans realistic realm and have proven track records as favorite villains

2)Bane
Can be done in Nolans world with slight tweaking and serves a physical threat Batman has yet to really face

3) Talia Al Ghul
all of ther above plus a "full circle" connection with Batman Begins

4) Black Mask
realistic, not done before, represents the mob, represents escalation, as a whole package deal it covers a lot of ground Nolan seems interested in.

5) Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, Clayface
great potential as villains but lack a sense of uberrealism that Nolan seems interested in. Odds of these are very low which is really unfortunate

6) Man-Bat
Like number 5 yet completely and utterly impossible with any kind of tweaking to be done in real world. Dont expect it anytime soon

7)Hush
no proven track, doubt it will happen.

8) Mad Hatter, Firefly, Killer Moth, Lock-Up, Gearhead
has the characteristics to be in Nolanverse, but lacks a level of interest that the other options have

9) Deadshot, Lady Shiva, David Cain
physical threats, possible escalation elements, works with fugitive Batman status quo left by TDK, villains not yet used. I think theres a pretty high chance of one of these

Not only am I going to pick my favorite, but I also think it could realistically work in Nolan's pseudo-real world.

Scarface and the Ventriloquist.

Maybe have Christopher Lloyd carrying around Verne Troyer...? :oldrazz:

I would honestly LOVE to see Maxie Zeus in a Nolan Batman movie.

Think about it - a Business mogul who believes he is a God and wishes to reclaimed his right as Supreme Being?

That could be VERY interesting, IMO.

Riddler and scarecrow!

NO catwoman or any of that ****

5) Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, Clayface
great potential as villains but lack a sense of uberrealism that Nolan seems interested in. Odds of these are very low which is really unfortunate

I disagree. All three could be made into realistic villains which fit in Nolan's universe.

i agree, but they would tweak them a lot which I dont think they should do

Nolan's had to tweak a lot with the character's he's used already. He can make these three recognizable and keep the spirit in tact IMO.

With Croc and Clayface he'd actually be showing them what they were originally created to be like.

The point is who are MORE LIKELY to appear. I get that they can be done. Ive always agreed with that but there a far more realistic and practical villains that are interesting and havent been prominently used in Batman media that Nolan would probably gravitate towards other than Croc, Clayface, and Freeze

Catwoman.

Seriously, now with Rachel gone and Bruce without a love interest, I think its time Selina Kyle steps in.

Though of course, Batman will have to cross paths with Kyle's alter-ego cat burglar.

The Dark Knight will have to have a more formidable opponent other than Catwoman, so I say the Riddler.

Catwoman can ease into Nolan's universe quite easily. She could work for the mob and rob banks and what not.

Is Selina Kyle the only other female character in Batman's..............history..?
