Who can match or beat Superman?

I figured since there was one for Hulk that has spanned over 100 pages I would bring one up for Superman too. The here's my list ......

Shouldn't this be in the DC forum? I doubt this one will go as long as the Hulk one since we've seen people match and even kill Supes. Besides, Superman fans are at least able to admit that it's happened.

Any cosmic being can take him out. Dr. Strange would win. I don't think that Mags or Juggs can beat Superman especially with Supes being near his Pre-Crisis level. It would be back and forth with Superman and Hulk. I didn't know that Galactus and Superman fought already. Does anyone have the title and issue ?

I didn't know that Galactus and Superman fought already. Does anyone have the title and issue ?

It was the Superman/Fantastic Four crossover that came out a few years after DC vs Marvel. I mention that because Superman has to use Access to gain entry into the Marvel Universe (though Access isn't actually shown).

::SPOILERS::

Superman gets a Star Wars style hologram-message from his father that Galactus was responsible for the destruction of Krypton and goes to find Reed Richards for help. The message turns out to be a dupe from Cyborg-Superman who was trying to become Galactus's herald (something like that.)

Anyway, Superman finds Galactus with the help of the F4 . . and not only does Galactus brush him off like a spider, but he makes him his herald on top of it.

Excuse me Classic Juggy could beat Supes. I meant to say that earlier, I mean there isn't anything that Supes could do that everybody including Hulk, Thor or any Xmen could do to him. I have to argue with Supes Vs. Hulk by saying that Hulk would win this fight, but DC will not allow supes to lose a fight to Hulk. So ultimately writer has total power and companies tell writers what to do so yes supes would win. I forgot about Sentry, yes he too could beat Supes. Ghost Rider too is a good choice. Supes from what I have seen has a problem with demonic based characters, I guess because of the whole supernatural thing. I don't know does any superman fan know why he has such a problem with these types of characters.

The problem with Hulk defeating Superman is that Superman has super speed. The Hulk realistically cannot connect even once unless Superman deliberately stands still and sticks out his chin. Admittedly this is not the way the crossover stories have been written but it is the way that it would be in reality. The Hulks punches would seem to take so long to land that a speedster would get bored waiting for it. In addition speed magnifies force enormously. With equal strength Superman would still hit literally a million or more times as hard. In every meeting between Superman and the Hulk they wimped out Superman as a concession to Marvel in order to get them to agree to the fight. Marvel isn't going to put the Hulk into a fight like that just to get him humiliated even if that is what should happen considering the respective powers. That's why you shouldn't consider any of their published meetings. Consider only what they do in their own separate adventures.

That's the reason I say that Hulk can beat him (and i promise no more superman vs. hulk comments from me until after christmas anyways). Supes isn't the brightest crayon in the box. He fights his battles with too much pride therefore he feels he is able to fight people like hulk toe-to-toe. But enough about Hulk, let's talk classic juggy. I can't see superman being able to do anything to hurt Juggy. Besdies the fact his powers are based off a MAGICAL gem.

i figure Supes would destroy the hulk, but juggernaut is a different story. there is nothing supes can do that can hurt juggernaut and there is nothing juggy can do that can hurt superman. i figure they would fight and supes would realize that juggy is just as strong and tough as he is, so he would try something like flying into him as hard as he can. problem is juggernaut cant be stopped once moving so superman would use all his speed and strength to ram the juggernaut which would actually result in superman being squished by his own power.

Rogue: She's been able to absorb half the power of some heavy-hitters, such as Juggernaut, so perhaps she'd end up being an equal match for the Son of Krypton.

Anywone with transmutation, such as Molecule Man or Grey Garcoyle, might have a chance.

Two things. Strange and Rouge COULD beat Supes but the chances are slim! Considering that Supes is FAST and could kill Strange before he utters a syllable. And Supes can kill Rouge by looking at her.

Why not? Dr. Polaris, a DC character with all of Magneto's powers and none of the genius, has in the past beat the holy hll out of Superman and the rest of the Justice League all at once.

I agree with Magento being able to beat supes he could turn the iron in supes blood against him like he did in the first movie. And there is no way that the fight between Dr. Strange and Supes would go like "UltraHearld" said it would go. Strange has fought tougher "creatures" than superman throughout his travels and has fought demons and werewolves, whatever you can think of he has fought it. Another person I would put on the list is Thanos w/ IG. It wouldn't even be a fight he would just stop time and obliterate supes into nothingness. Adam Warlock would be another good one. I also think Spidey with his cosmic powers could beat supes too. I wonder what Ghost Rider's penance stare would do to Clark BTW.

Dr.Strange would be a good example,but Superman already works with 2 magicans,Zatanna and Dr.Fate.Superman would know some techniques to help him gain an advantage,it then comes back to The Incredible Hulk.Thanos would also give Superman a challange,anything else would be the Silver Surfer or cosmic forces.
