Let's hear some choices!
I'd be partial to Emily Blunt, Natalie Dormer, Brie Larson, Jessica Chastain, or Kate Winslet. Really just depends on the age range they want. Larson might be a bit too young, Winslet and Chastain might be a bit too old.
Strahovski, Chastain, Blunt, Pike, Sackhoff
Or just say to hell with it and get Charlize Theron. I don't buy the ridiculous "too old" crap.
This subforum is beautiful.
I'd be stunned if Emily Blunt didn't get a call, assuming she has the availability.
Blunt all the way.
I'm kinda expecting Blunt, who would probably be my top choice too. I'd love Yvonne Strahovski in the role as well, and Amber Heard could be good.
Jessica Chastain or Emily Blunt.
I like Rosamund Pike, a lot, but her way-too-deliberate accent in Gone Girl was worrisome. She can apparently do a pretty convincing southern accent, and I've always felt like it would work really well to make Carol Danvers a Texan, but I know character purists wouldn't go for that, and Marvel would be unlikely to make that kind of unnecessary change.
It needs to be someone who immediately reads as tough-as-nails. Yvonne Strahovski doesn't do that for me; that casting feels like back in the mid-2000s when a bunch of people were fancasting John Stamos as Tony Stark. While Katee Sackhoff does read as tough-as-nails, I am not really interested in seeing her just play Starbuck again.
Charlize is only a few years older than Blunt and Chastain. But she definitely works and is a huge marquee name.
Rosamund Pike's hot right now too.
I've kind of cooled on Sackhoff. Marvel needs to aim big and high for this movie.
Strahovski for me.
Natalie Dormer was already in CA:TFA. I'd like her to show up again in Agent Carter, so I don't want her as Carol.
Did someone say Blunt doesn't look the part?
Agree to disagree
Somebody in the other thread said she didn't look good as a blonde. I thought that was bollocks as well.
Say whaaatt... Seriously?
Yvonne or Jessica Chastain.
Kathrynn Winnick, Emily Blunt, and Jessica Chastain
Katee Sackhoff is top of the head pick. I'm a big fan of Natalie Dormer, yet had not considered her for the role until now. She could be an awesome choice. Nevermind that she was in The First Avenger. A small cameo should not stand in the way for greatness.
That's just their opinion dude.
She doesn't do it for me either
Didn't say it wasn't their opinion.
Just saying I disagree.
She doesn't look good as blonde. (Yes I've seen Edge of Tomorrow) maybe I'm just biased though.
