Who is the "main" villain?

I hope Raimi doesn't disappoint! Venom should have had his own movie, but if he's going to be squeezed then every scene better be amazing!

i have a ton of faith in sam so i know he will not dissapoint us at all.

I think with this movie, it's going to suffer from Batman REturns/Daredevil syndrome: there IS no central villain, and therefore probably no focus. In fact, there's probably too many villains. Sandman is probably going to be the most foreground villain for the first 3rd of the movie, since he ignites the darkness. Then GG2 for the middle, since Peter clearly unleashes this darkness against him (if the teaser of him with the pumpkin bomb was any indication), and probably Venom for the last 3rd, so Spidey can see the consequences of darkness and will then try to redeem GG2 and Sandy. I'm betting GG2 will go down in a blaze, while Sandman will do the whole "reformed crook" bit and cry a lot in his cell, and Venom....will hopefully die, since I think another movie with him would be redundant. (Side note: I like Venom, a lot. But in cinematic form, there's only so many ways you can tell a story, and Venom basically has just one.)

I'm really hoping this movie will work. I like Spider-Man and how the movies have represented him. But I AM a bit worried.

I voted the Symbiote as the main villain. It corrupts Peter, causes him to:

attack and Sandman with extreme brutality (smashing his head into an oncoming subway train)
toss a bomb at his best friend
destroy poor Eric's camera and beat him up...as if Red didn't give the boy enough trouble...

Plus it gives rise to Venom. And according to an old summary, it takes on a form either before Brock or after Brock and engages Peter.

I think it will play a Shreck-like role. Shreck 'created' Catwoman, ruined The Penguin, and ruined many lives through these actions.

doc ock was not dissapointing one bit to me. by what we have seen of venom in spidey3 he looks like he will give spidey the battle of his life. sam loves spider-man and he tries to make these movies perfect. he really has made these movies perfect (to me atleast).

I asked that earlier. I said that if Harry isn't the main villain then what could he be? Because I don't see him being a secondary character to Sandman. I mean, whats the point of building Harry's revenge in the course of three films to have it be less focused than the whole Sandman thing?

I don't know. It seems kinda odd to me.

well peter and harrys friendship has remained secondary in the story and spider-man and the villians will remain first. that is one of the reasons why harry is a secondary villian. makes sense doesn't it?
