Scorpion should be the main villian. The movie could have Shocker a little role like robbing a bank.

The moment i saw Goblin i just went: No.

Yeah, I maintained optimism until they announced that they were cramming in Goblin and Harry's whole arc into one movie. And then proceeded to spoil every single plot point in the ensuing marketing campaign.

I mean Dane DeHann, he as really good choice for Goblin and for Harry but the moment i saw Meth Goblin.....ew. (PD: Notify me if i have to censor the word meth, thanks.)

It was the.....well it was the Batman and Robin of Spider-Man movies but without the fun.

lol Agreed. That's what lot of people said after movie come out. Compare it to Batman and Robin. So did alot of reviews.

Just happy now they over. I hope Marvel get better at doing villains because they do heroes so brilliant but villains not always as good as should be.

Mark my words, the best villains of the MCU are going to be Spidey's, they are going to have the Loki/Kingpin factor.

I'm one of the minority that both loved TASM2 and DeHaan's Gobby. However, I will always be sour over Massee not being Norman, though.

For shame, Sony.

Oh, I liked all the Spider-Man movies and performaces. What I idn't like about movies like ASM2 and SM3 is the multiple villains. Could've all been portrayed in seperate films. 1 or 2 major villains in a film is he limit. Any more becomes uneccesary stuffing.

That is true, 1 villain with a minor is completly fine for a movie but 3 at the same time....just no.
Also wanted to ask, which villain some of you think they should totally not use in the MCU Spider-Man movie?

I think any number of villains could be handled well if given the right material that doesn't over-complicate things. The problem is is that both SM3 and ASM2 (excluding the Rhino) had villains with an arc big enough to hold a film on their own, as you said.

Example -- Electro could've been the villain he was originally meant to be in ASM2 if he was the key focus overall and it was only him featured. His arc of feeling ignored and betrayed by the world could've been big enough to give us something really deep and moving, as Foxx is a talented enough actor to pull that off but instead it was crammed among:

-Peter and Gwen
-Peter and his parents
-Oscorp is evil
-Harry Osborn, both introduction and slow build to villainy
-Spider-Man and the daily happenings of the alter-ego
-World building (which thankfully didn't really officially happen until the end, screw you Iron Man 2)

etc. etc.

if we're talking about the FIRST film, I don't want to see Mysterio, Kraven, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom, Carnage, Rhino, or anyone like that. I want a smaller villain, like Vulture, Chameleon, Shocker, etc. to really capture the indie/Hughes feel.

I'm continuing to fight for the idea that as Spider-Man grows as a hero, so should the villains he faces in every new film he was.

Perfect example of what I want:

First film: Vulture (small)
Second film: Kraven, Lizard, Scorpion, etc. (medium)
Third film: Doc Ock/Venom (large)

ABSOLUTELY NO USAGE OF THE GREEN GOBLIN FOR AT LEAST 3-4 FILMS, PUH-LEASE.

Absolutely, all of this. And i have to agree with you with the simple scalation of villains, from small to large (part of the reason i myself want Spot)

I hope that does happen. Dr Octopus deserve the best, and Green Goblin.

I hope we don't get either of those for a while. At the very least the first two solo MCU films shouldn't use anyone previously used. We still haven't seen Chameleon, Kraven, Vulture, Scorpion or Mysterio. Use them first. I definitley don't want to see a goblin for a while.

I could be OK with a Goblin if they play it like the 90s cartoon with Hobgoblin first (Heck, cast Hamill back)

I said before that I want him as a villain, just maybe not the main villain. He would be a cool opening action scene.

i do hope we get some good takes on spidey rouges in the mcu and same goes for who ever ends up as first pick.

I would a scene with a villain (any villain) that is like the fan film Spider-Man: The Lost Avenger, where Spidey is just fighting a ridicoulous villain (Big Wheel, Grizzly, heck even the baloon man from the video) and defeats it so easily.
