Yeah, we probably won't see Kingpin in a Spider-Man movie for a long while, definitely not in SM17.

Eh. He wouldn't be too bad I guess.
Yeah but even i wouldn't mind Franco as Scorpion, it would be quite interesting.
Franco apparently didn't enjoy making the trilogy, so I doubt he would want a role anyway.
I don't see where he says the Spider-Man movies. He says a series of movies, not a movie series. A series of movies can mean two or three movies in a row.
It sounded like he meant a movie series, and Spider-Man is the only series he's done, but I guess you could be right about a series of unrelated movies.
Well it makes more sense to me. If it was the Spider-Man movies he would just say so, rather than be cryptic. However if it's three or more different movies he's talking about it's easier to say a series of movies, rather than rhyme off the individual names.
Plus James has always spoken so highly of the Spider-Man franchise and the fun he had making them, so I don't see why he'd renege on that now. He even seemed a little defensive that they rebooted it so soon after Raimi.
Even if he did mean Spider-Man I doubt he would straight up say so out of respect for the filmmakers, but yeah, you might be right.
I don't think Franco's shy about publicly criticizing film makers;

Well, it's clear that Franco has a pretty good working relationship with Sam, and with Spring Breakers 2 it sounds like he very much disagreed with the reason the film was being made. So I still doubt he would have openly criticized the Spider-Man trilogy if that's what he meant.
I actually think Gyllenhaal would work as Gargan. He's become such a massive character actor as of late I'd lobby for that ****.
