About the average movie goer, they don;t care who the villain is, as long as the trailer looks good they'll go see it.

If you want something different, go with Vandal Savage as the villain for the first film. Dr Destiny would be very cool, too.

It has been rumored, if not confirmed, that Brainiac will be the main villain for Part 1. However, because of AOU's Ultron have similarities with Brainiac, it has been suggested, if not speculated, that perhaps Brainiac should be replaced. Now, for me, I would want Brainiac in Superman, not JL, it's only fair, but I felt I knew why as given to one of my ideas below. Who or what could be a replacement?

I've been doing a Marvel Marathon in preparation for AOU, and one thing I had was based on Loki; not actually Loki, or Loki-like, but the idea of having a villain from someone's rogue's gallery. And this is most likely the same idea for Brainiac, from Superman's rogue's gallery, and that would make sense; but, I feel it should be a more human villain.

Ra's Al Ghul is one idea, especially going from BvS into JL, but we need someone different, and it's not just Superman or Batman, there's also Wonder Woman. What about Ares, the God of War?

The other idea would be Lex Luthor's Legion, making up the enemies of the heroes in that movie, thus banding them together creating the JL. Obviously, people would think of Superfriends (maybe), but the heroes who have appeared so far are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman: the Superfriends.

Now yes, the perfect villain is Darkseid, and that's true. Use all of his versions, have them be related to each team member, and it unites them. But should he be saved for movie #2 as they intend? Or if not #2, #3 at least?

Thoughts?

I would like to see them going with an unknown villian, just to surprise the audience and there will be no pre-concieved expectations.

That would be a bit of a waste, in my opinion, given that so much of the appeal of comic books lies in their vividly rendered villains.

Legion of Doom or CSA.

Dc does really well with these kind of groups. Adapt Justice or a Crisis on Two earths as a start.

I also liked the recent Amazo arc. He's more a metahuman virus.

White Martians or Starro as well. Starro breeds a better sense of "you can't just hurt all these people". Also you can throw in new heroes and villains who have been taken.

Imagine something like this coming out of the ocean:

Now imagine it has millions of offspring that look like smaller versions of itself, and they can take control of your mind and body.

With the right design, Starro could give off a wonderful Lovecraftian or HR Giger vibe, which would be a fresh change of pace. Beats the hell out of [insert generic alien army here].

I'm on board with this. The horror element will set Justice League a part from Avengers. :woot:

I don't think they should let Ultron scare them away from using Brainiac as the first villain, leading into Darksied in Part 2.

I's love to see Luthor and the Legion of Doom, but as I'd want them to stretch Luthor's arc out longer, I wouldn't want them to be the villains of the first film.

I feel the same, if they want to use Brainiac they should just go right ahead as he is a very different character than Ultron anyway. Personally though I would prefer Brainiac appeared in a Superman movie instead.

I had an idea where Ocean Master would be the main villain. But it ended up basically being the Avengers plot. Just replace Loki with Ocean Master and the Chitauri with an army of Atlanteans. And the Avengers with Aquaman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman(the first Justice League). So I scrapped it.

Instead I thought of maybe Black Adam since they casted him so early prior to the release of Shazam. But in order to have Black Adam they kinda have to have Shazam. And his film comes out way after JL Part 1. So that's a no.

So either Starro, just for the novelty of the character or Darkseid. Starro would be great dor the first film. Darkseid for the sequel.

Actually I would not mind seeing Ultra Humanite make his movie villain debut. Other than that Desaad, Despero or Metallo I'd like.

Movie 1: The Ultra Humanite

2: Monsieur Mallah

3: Grodd

People will wonder what is going on.

I like Vandal Savage, but I think he belongs to a similar trope-group as Ra's al Ghul, so much so that I would probably rather see a reinterpretation of Ra's.

IMO, the best choices are (in no particular order), Darkseid, Deathstroke, Amazo, Despero, Prometheus, Starro, Anti-Monitor and Vandal Savage.

This is a very tricky question for me. We know that we're getting two Justice League films. But are those going to be two separate films with their own storylines, or are they going to be more akin to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows films (one story split into two films)? The fact that the films were announced as "Justice League Part 1" and "Justice League Part 2" could be indicative of the latter, but then of course those could just be placeholder titles. And then there's always the possibility for more Justice League films beyond these two, but I imagine Affleck's contract beyond these will prove to be problematic.

If it's one story split into two films, I don't know how you don't use Darkseid/Apokolips/New Gods. If we can expect two films with their own storylines, then I'd probably go with Starro.

I would LOVE for an adaptation of Tower of Babel with Ra's al Ghul as a global threat, but if we're limiting ourselves to two films then I'll probably have to kiss that fantasy goodbye.

What about something like Justice league doom for the first movie. Basically a combo of Tower of Babel and the Legion of Doom, it could lead into a Darkseid storyline

Who will be the villains' cannon fodder? Everyday human henchmen? Robots? Generic mutates? Aliens?

1. Darksied- His henchman will be either robots, aliens or robot aliens
2. Starro-His henchman will be mind controlled humans
3. Injustice League(Ocean Master, Joker, Black Adam, Deathstroke, Lex Luthor, Cheetah)
4. Braniac- his henchman will likely be robots.

I would like one film to be Injustice League (Joker, Lex, and Cheetah on one team is a must) and the other to be JLU's Cadmus arc.

I have no interest in a large scale alien threat like Brainiac or Starro, and especially Darkseid, cause I think the only reason you would want them is so the League is physically challenged, which is fun to watch, but doesn't always make for the most interesting story. I'd need to be convinced. I DID like JLU's Thanagarian arc and YJ's The Reach arc.

Obviously the main villain has to be OP otherwise it just doesnt make sense

Darkseid , Brainiac , Doomsday and Amazo would be my picks with Bizzaro and Black Adam as secondary villains .

And it doesnt make sense if Lex Luthor or Savage are the guys behind the curtain if you have the first 4 i mentioned as villains in a JL story. A pawn cant give orders to the King especially when we talk about Darkseid or Brainiac.(Sure Lex/Savage can manipulate doomsday or bizzaro but not highly intelligent aliens.)

Ofc you can go many routes. Ideas are always endless.

The more I think about it, the more I'm starting to like the idea of Ra's as the villain. I don't really wanna see an Alien Invasion. I like them to somehow adapt the Tower of Babel storyline, except instead of Ras stealing the secrets from Batman, Ras just puts it all together himself. After the events of MOS, Ras is absolutely pissed off about the damage that it did to the world.

So from then on that's when he starts planning, watching the events of BvS from afar, scouting Superman and seeing Kryptonite being used as his weakness, Wonder Woman, and his longtime foe Batman. Hes probably also been watching Aquaman, Flash, GL and others, who I'm assuming are well known in their cities, and prepares some kind of way to attack them just in case. Then Cyborg becomes a big part of defeating Ras since he's someone who Ras wasn't prepared for (I'm assuming he barely becomes Cyborg in JL)

I just got this random idea that popped in my head. What if Ra's creates the OMAC virus?

Its a way to eliminate most of humanity. People turn into cyborgs, and are programmed to attack the heroes. The "Tower of Babel" can be some sort of control center, but it's hidden like I'm assuming Themyscria is. It also exposes all of the heroes weakness, which is the need the save people. Since the cyborgs attacking them are just citizens under the cybernetic armor, they can't just kill them, so they find a way to just hold them until they find a solution/cure.

So while members like Wonder Woman, Supes, and idk who else, are trying to contain these people. Batman, Cyborg, and whoever else get into the tower where Ra's is to somehow find a way to destroy it.
