Not the worst idea, but nanotech is not really very al Ghul-y.

Why not a female villain?

Now that would be refreshing! And a way to make it different than Avengers.

I don't think a strategy of contrived differentiation from various Marvel movies is a good idea.

I don't REALLY care about it being different from Marvel I just think a kick ass female villain would be a cool and refreshing idea.

I wonder if they even would use Darkseid now. Like Thanos is an unabashed rip off of Darkseid, but Marvel still established him in the movies first, it's not gonna matter to a lot of people who really came first and who's really a ripoff of whom.

I'd guess Braniac might be the next best contender...

Just because marvel is using thanos doesnt mean dc cant use darkseid. They're different characters with different personas and motivations.

The JLA vs Hell (vs hell vs hell...)

Demons Three:

The long sleeping most ancient three have been awakened. It's Blaze vs Neron with Wotan as their revivor and the JL caught in the middle of the mess. The Three regain power as things go along and both Demon Lords need to get them under their power BEFORE they grow too powerful!

First film, justice league versus US government (via lex luthor), and the cliff hanger is we find that they have a deal w/ doomsday. First film we can have suicide squad steal stuff from the justice league. So doomsday / old gods is the second film.

I also like the idea of braniac team up with lex luthor (like justice league unlimited).

Do you happen to mean Darkseid, instead of doomsday?

Visually and thematically, they're pretty similar, the big bad ultimate evil type of guy, sitting on his throne all smug. Even with a two parter, there's only so much you can develop the villains away from each other. And visuals and themes are huge parts of movies. People would be drawing comparisons constantly, and obviously that's not how DC wants to have their fresh cinematic universe perceived.

I could easily see them wanting to stay away from Darkseid to avoid comparisons. And personally, I'd like a different flavor of villain than Darkseid and Thanos anyway.

You forgot Trigon

Marvel shoots for a lighter tone with their villains. If DC makes Darkseid very grim and terrifying, that alone will set him apart enough from Thanos

I'm almost certain Brainiac will be the villain. He will probably mind control Superman and the rest of the league will have to stop him.

The Empire article on BvS quoted Snyder as saying there was no way they could do another alien invasion story soon, so Brainiac and Darkseid seem less likely to me.

Or just having Darkseid be a character who actually DOES something... ;)

I think they're building towards the legion in JL

If they don't wanna do another alien invasion so soon, the LOD is the perfect choice

Luthor
Joker
Cheetah
Grodd
Deathstroke
Manta
Black Adam

If they don't use Brainiac, who I believe they will, I'd think we'd get the Themyscira/Atlantis war as the first JL film. I could see that war spilling over into mainland areas requiring the League's involvement.

I don't see that happening outside of a small plot point in a Flashpoint movie to be honest. A themyscira Atlantis war doesn't interest me the same way that a story with a true villain would

Darkseid, Brainiac or LOD

I feel like that about Namor, especially since the Aquamoa picture looks like he'll have Namor's personality too

Darkseid>Thanos
Aquaman>Namor

That's all that matters

Aquaman has Black Manta and Ocean Master, Khaldur, Mera and Tempest. Not to mention his stories and backstory is preferable to Namor

Namor came first but Aq does it better

I care more about Aquaman being portrayed with Namor's personality rather than who comes first. In the comics (Not sure about recent Aquaman though) they have vastly different personalities, or at least the ones I've read.
