Homecoming Who should reboot villain be? (Poll Version) - Part 1

You're right. At least not 616 Goblin. Truth be told though, I think the Goblin I posted looks like what Ultimate Comics Goblin should've been.

I've always thought of a goblin as an impish, cackling, mischievous, little prankster of a creature. Not a huge, hulking monster with horns. Ultimate goblin looked more like an 'orc' or something.

Goblin and Doc Ock should be something completely new and fresh to justify bringing them back on screen. Like how Ledger's Joker is completely different to Nicholson's Joker. If you are going to have essentially the same character (Lex Luther in Superman Returns) that is just a waste of everyone's time.

When ASM was being filmed and the producers kept emphasizing how this was a dark and gritty retelling of the story, I assumed that they were following the Dark Knight route, and that we would inevitably see a Green Goblin as dark and twisted as Heath Ledger's Joker. As we know it didn't go that way.

Personally I was never a big fan of the Green Goblin character as I find him very hard to take seriously, but if you're going to do him right he has to be flamboyant, psychotic and eccentric enough to rival the Joker. This is a grown man who dances around giggling in purple, pointed booties and makes weapons that resemble halloween ornaments. While that might sound comical, I can actually see how that could be pretty disturbing in real life.
If the goblin is done again, I want them to embrace the roots of the character and deliver a comic accurate 616 goblin, (Norman Osborn in a goblin mask) as deranged, bizarre and theatrical as Ledger's Joker.

If Ock is done again, I want to hear a German accent.

I hope not. That was strictly a creation of the 90's cartoon. Ock was born and raised in NY. He has no reason to have a German accent.

Really? I didn't realize that. Damn, I like the accent.

A lot of people were/are in the same boat as you. I remember back when I first joined here in late 2003, the first Spider-Man 2 trailer came out, and we all heard Alfred Molina speak as Ock for the first time, half the forum was like "Where's the German accent?".

The 90's cartoon is what so many fans grew up on, and therefore associate the show's voice cast with the characters.

Please no origin movie this time.

I want the villian to be venon and carnage for this movie.

Shocker for the beginning Kraven for the rest of the movie.

What's wrong with what I said for goblin. I was just saying ways they could develop the costume to be more truer to comics.

Vulture. Maybe he could be the engineer who designed Falcon's wings?

It's way too early for the symbiotes. If they end up implementing the symbiote in infinity war they can carry it on for venom in the 3rd movie maybe and then they can do maximum carnage after that

Not if its the same character done better.

I disagree. There has to be enough about the character that sets them apart from the previous version. There is a complete tonal shift of personality between Ledger and Nicholson as well as a radical costume change. But you could make Ock and Goblin closer to the comics and that would be the drastic change needed to set them apart from the previous movie version.

That's an interesting idea.
But I'd rather see Falcon's wings made in Wakanda.

I don't have any hope that they'd acknowledge BP as their inventor since they dumped Ultron on Stark as opposed to Pym.

Sony should be forced to watch Daredevil. Learn how to make nauced and sophisticated villains that have motivation and are a genuine threat.

About Venom, I'd rather they take their time with that. I want to see a whole movie with Spiderman in the Venom suit, then at the end he rips it off and in a later film Venom forms and goes after Spiderman. I'd also skip straight past Eddie Brock and on to Flash Thompson. My trajectory for Flash/Venom goes as follows:

> Spiderman 2017 - Flash is Peter's high school bully. But he's a big Spidey fan.
> Spiderman 2 - Flash gets a security job at Oscorp and proves to be very talented. But loses his legs in an accident.
> Spiderman 3 - Peter finds the symbiote suit. At the end he tears it off and it makes its way to Oscorp to team up with Osborn and get revenge against Spidey. Osborn chooses Flash as the test subject for the symbiote bonding.
> Thunderbolts Movie - This movie would focus on various villains from Phase 3 teaming up, including Venom and Green Goblin.
> Spiderman 4 - Venom as the main villain. Eventually Flash takes control of the symbiote.
> Agent Venom franchise, Guardians crossovers etc.

ETA: They could sort of take Eddie's hatred for Peter/Spiderman and transfer that to Flash. Maybe Flash blames Spiderman for his accident and wants vengeance. But eventually he realises that Venom has taken him too far, and he manages to wrest back control and become Agent Venom.

That's neat, I wouldn't be against that at all.

If no one wants to see venom and carnage early, then i'd rather see a villian not done before.

I vote for Kraven.

The story can take place as peter is in college and is sent to the Jungles of Africa to report on a story of a man like create terrorizing the populace.

Also with it being in Africa, you can have peter meet Black Panther and begin tying him into the Avengers story line as well.

BP can give spidey tips on dealing with kraven and helping him find a cure.
Tom Hardy can play Kraven in this movie.

Green Goblin done right but keep Norman as a larger MCU villain. Also have Fisk in there, have him meet Smythe. Kraven would be cool if there was a mutual creature villain to hunt like Lizard but he was just done

I'd be happy with Kraven, but to be honest I have zero interest in watching a Spider-Man movie not taking place in New York
