Since his first mini series. In the MU he is, not in our world. But everyone forgot about him or something. Ain't read it in donkeys.

Yeah I have the first mini series. Don't remember him being "the word's oldest superhero," though.

Me either. I remember him being the "greatest" because all the other heroes fawned over him like idiots, but I don't remember him being any older than he appears.

Ehh maybe you guys are right. I haven't read it in ages. But I'm sure his thing was that he was the first Superhero or something. I'll have to re-read it soon.

Doesn't really matter in the end, I suppose. The Torch and Namor are still Marvel's first major superheroes as far as I'm concerned and will continue to be.

Going back to the Sentry possibly becoming sane, I really think it'd be a bad idea, especially since Thor is back now and Cap is coming back. He'd be really redundant since Thor basically is Marvel's Superman by power and Cap is Marvel's Superman by personality.

Yea I agree Corp. His sanity or lack there of makes him unique. But he MUST have an important role in the end of Dark Reign. To ignore him would be like ignoring the elephant in the room. I'm interested to see what role he plays in it all.

Sentry was around before the FF supposedly. He was inserted into continuity a good four to five years before their first flight, so he's the oldest hero of the Marvel age. The world's oldest would have to be......Herc or, maybe some of those Eternals.

The Eternals beat Herc, I believe. They're supposed to be about a million years old.

Yea I thought so. He was there before everyone else but they forgot about him or something like that.

There's still Human Torch, Cap and all those other 30's and 40's mofos.

Yeah, but they weren't considered part of the Marvel Age.

They're part of the Golden Age. There aren't any Silver Age-only heroes at Marvel like at DC, though. The Marvel Age heroes are the Silver Agers.

And we've already established that that would be the Eternals, or maybe that wolverine looking ape dude who used to ride Devil Dinosaur.

And I'm saying you don't even have to go back that far to find superheroes much older than him within continuity. Hell Blue Marvel was around before him.

Get outta here, we're talking about Moonboy now.

It took him to go crazy and don an Apokaliptian kryptonite powered battle armor while abusing a drug cocktail of Venom and liquid kryptonite in front of everybody for him to go down. He also made out with Amanda Waller.

Really? Ew.

There's a big difference between President Lex Luthor and Director Norman Osborn.

At least with Luthor, the populace of the DC Universe thought that he was a good person because of the image that Luthor built for himself and successfully managed to cover up his evil deeds. And now that he's been exposed, his reputation and everything associated with him (the White House and LexCorp) have been irreparably damaged.

With Osborn on the other hand, the Marvel Universe knew that he was the Green Goblin. He was publicly outed and exposed and sent to prison. Then he becomes Director of H.A.M.M.E.R. and the darling of the media which makes no sense because the Green Goblin has a more "evil" reputation than Lex Luthor (who is more delusional and power hungry than evil in my opinion, even in his current "mad scientist" incarnation).

Meh. There's been enough other Green Goblins for Osborn to say it wasn't him. Hell, he made his own Green Goblin just to attack him in public so everyone would know its not him (back in Identity Crisis I think). It was only recently revealed to the public he was Green Goblin and he admitted it as a part of his health problems. And being appointed is far more easier to swallow than being elected. He didn't have to go through the rigorous vetting that would come in a long election.

If anything, while Civil War was supposed to make it seem that Bush was an anti-civil rights president, Dark Reign has played up the idea that Obama is naive and appoints evil people. Osborn is the Marvel Universe's Van Jones. I mean, except Van Jones never got my dead girlfriend pregnant, but you know, being a conspiracist is close.

Obama didn't appoint him and doesn't like him, or so i've heard.

He definitely doesn't like Osborn. Not sure of the details of Osborn's appointment.

The oldest hero is Galactus. :o

Either way, the Sentry was meant to be the first of the heroic age or something. Past the government ones, or the robot ones, or whatever ones (in truth, Cap would've come before Rob). However, he's like the first SUPERHERO superhero. One that didn't look to fight in war, or stomp out crime. Just some dude, who put on a costume and puched a villanous superdude.

However, I wouldn't want him sane. I mean, I'd like him back to the point where he can make decisions without reverting to, "I r dun gud, mr. Osborne?"

Huh, really I'd say it's between the eternals and the silver surfer for the hero thing and I'm not sure about the eternals as they naturally have superpowers so they're only superpowered in regards to humans.

Other than dead or crying like a little girl I don't like the sentry in any other form. If anything he'd be one of the first supervillians.

Surfer isn't really a "superhero", either.
