Katie wasn't lame in BB because she was dating Tom Cruise, she was lame because she just didn't act out the admittedly lamely written role well and she looked far too young. End of the story for me. I personally don't care what anybody says or thinks, my favorite superhero love interest performance is Dunst as MJ.

Agreed. A really awful bit of casting. There was no chemistry between her and Bale.

There are a lot of people on this site who make adolescent statements in the vain of "but Gyllenhaal's not hot!". Jesus. Okay, cast a playboy bunny?
Maggie is class . She'll bring a feisty intelligence to the role that will mesh very nicely with the likes of Ledger and Eckhart - both are in her league.
A comic book movie with fabulous actors across the board? Heaven forbid!

I agree with fanboys seeing the light that Katie is so much better than the other superhero actresses. I even like her better than Eva Mendes in Ghost Rider. Not only Katie and Christian make a great looking pair onscreen but they have chemistry even with their lacking scenes together ala Tom Hanks Meg Ryan rarely together onscreen on Sleepless in Seattle but there's chemistry and tenderness unlike some Batman fans only associating chemistry with hardcore tonsil hockey and bedroom scenes.

I've always loved Maggie and can't wait to see her in BB. It's about time she got the chance to shine in a blockbuster movie. And personally, I think she'll do a better job then Katie.

I can't understand why people are so down on her looks? I bet most of the people saying she's ugly are men!! When are we going to get past this obsession with superficiality!? I can't wait to see a normal looking girl in a comic book adaptation! Rachel Dawes is supposed to be an assistant DA, NOT a Victoria's Secret model!

If anything - TRUST NOLAN. He and the DK team wouldn't have hired Maggie for the part on a whim. I'm sure she auditioned and there's no doubt other actresses were probably vying for the part. But Maggie got it. Which means they must have seen something special. Lets save our opinions until we see the final product!

Im female and of all the leading ladies Katie is my favorite too. She made me relate to Rachel Dawes in so many ways never I saw Talia or Catwoman as my role model. I dont care for the other women in other
superhero franchise but before I liked Lois Lane by Kidder.
I think a woman should be in-charge writing the females because men seem clueless on this dept. Usually all women do in the superhero films are: scream-cry or wear a wet shirt to get nippley.

Maggie is a better actress, but Katie is better looking. Maggie will be more believable as a prosecutor, but I'd believe Bale would be more attracted to Kate.
