Apocalypse Who Will Face Off?

We know that eventually everyone will fight Apocalypse...hopefully.

But before that happens who will do battle?

I was thinking that many of the characters could potentially square off against Psylocke. If Nightcrawler uses swords in this film he and Psylocke should definitely do battle. I was also thinking that she and Mystique would be a great match up. Then another match up could be Jean vs Psylocke on the Astral Plane. We did see Singer and Sophie doing archery maybe a fight could take place in the Astral Plane with a bow & a sword or something.

I also imagined Scott and Alex back to back as Storm and Archangel circle them in the sky above. I thought about having Jubilee stand with them but it would throw off the whole brother thing.

What other possible match ups do you think could or would happen?

Tell me more about your Mystique vs Professor X battle because I don't see it personally with him having mental abilities and her fighting/shape-shifting. Not knocking it, just seriously curious as to why you decided on those two going head to head.

Well he'll have mental abilities towards anyone he fights. I should specify that I think Jean would be going back and forth with Mystique and Beast vs Prof X and Magneto.

I figured with Mystique she has some sort of adopted sibling bond with him as opposed to Beast and the others.

Magneto will fight Apocalypse and get the ***** kicked out of him. Everyone will fight Apocalypse. And then Magneto will come to just in time to finish the fight.

Don't see Quicksilver or Jubilee fighting anyone.

Read it on Wikipedia, but apparently Apocalypse gets ripped in half by Magneto in a comic. So I'm guessing that after the X-Men weaken Apocalypse, but still get beat, a battered Magneto manages to somehow rip Apocalypse in half.

I think one on one battle would be dumb and would require a ton of suspension of belief. The X-men to me are a team and, really, they need teamwork to be effective. There are far too many glass canons on the X-men Squad to make a one on one battle competitive. I mean Cyclops is either one shotting everyone or they're gonna nerf his competency to point his eyes at at target. I mean really. The teamwork in FC and DOFP was incredible and thats when the fight scenes are the best. Even TLS had some sweet team fights. I still think we you can have some interesting one on ones (Nightcrawler VS Archangel) but for the most part I'll past.

Mystique/Quiksilver vs Magneto. I think Peter want to know if Erik is his dad and Raven want him to come back, thats why they join together for the battle.

Marsden was also busy filming Singer's Superman film at the time which was a big factor.

McKellen was filming Da Vinci Code and X3 at the same period. He has a big role in two films.
