^ There isn't a huge difference between the two. I just thought having MJ work as a lively bartender would be an interesting change of pace and could really showcase her fun and free spirit as well as her interest in NYC nightlife, but I suppose you could do that with a waitress as well (assuming that's the type of MJ they're going for and not something closer to Dunst's version). Internship for what? Journalism?

Yeah I love his artwork as well. It has a very retro feel to it. It's like cross betwen John Romita and Bruce Timm, as well as 50s/60s era pop art and magazine illustrations. It's a shame that he doesn't do official stuff for Marvel.

Despite the fact that his work mainly consits of sultry pin ups (like Timm). I think that the general style of his art would look great in an animated series.

I also love Paolo Rivera's work on Spider-Man. He draws a great MJ too

In light of the recent news, is it time to resurrect this thread yet? Lol. MJ is one of my favorite characters and I was really excited to see what they would do differently (hopefully better?) with the character when I first heard that there was going to be a reboot. I'm really curious as to what Sony/Webb/the writers will do with MJ in TASM3, but there's still several months ahead before we get any indication.

If Kiernan Shipka were a bit older, I think she'd make an excellent MJ; she fits right into the same 'mold' as Shailene given what we had learned about Webb and Co.'s take on the character.

Emma Watson would also be excellent (and again fits into the 'Woodley mold'), but she probably wouldn't take the role even if it were offered because she's moved on from doing big action stuff.
