The Dark Knight Rises Who's Next?

I'd like to see Mel Brooks take over.

Seriously, I really hope if we ever come to this bridge, Ridley Scott takes over. Ronny pretty much laid out to us that Scott's vision is perfect for Batman. He's one of the best men behind the cameras working today (his post - Gladiator work can be forgiven since his stuff before that is amazing), and can probably bring something new to the table.

I wouldn't mind Proyas taking over, hell I wouldn't Proyas making another movie again.

Hey my bump actually worked. Thanks for the input guys. keep it comin'

my top five:

1. joe carnahan (narc)
2. david fincher (seven, fight club)
3. guillermo del toro (hellboy, blade 2, the devil's backbone)
4. alexandre aja (hills have eyes, high tension)
5. michael mann (heat, collateral)

My top 5movie directors to take over the batman film franchise if Nolan decides to stop after part 3 would be:

Kurt Wimmer:

He directed Equilibrium which is a fantastic film that surpassess the matrix you guys have to check it out it was awesomely bad ass. He'll probably make batman do some bat-katas now that would be crazy he's good at directing action and substance he's the perfect man that can continue with the tone of batman begins and bless it with superb action and substance.

James Cameron:

He directed the first 2 terminator films and he directed titanic he also created dark angel. Now i don't know what he's been up to lately but ideally he's pretty good with the physics and keeping the realistic tone of the film I mean terminator 2 judgement day had perfect realistic action he's a pretty good candidate Mr. Cameron.

Doug Liman:

He directed The bourne identity and the bourne supremacy he also directed mr and mrs. smith Now this would be very interesting because the bourne identity had some sick ass fighting in it but for the fighting and the darkness I think he can make it epic.

Peter Jackson:

Well I guess we all know which films he directed oh what the hell just in case if some of you don't know he directed The lord of the rings series and king kong etc... Now he would be great for doing a batman film I guess with the right budget he can get creative within the story and action he's a pretty danm good director in my eyes.

John McTiernan:

He directed predator 1 he also directed die hard with a veangence and he directed the 13th warrior. I would like to see him do batman there's just something about his films that makes me wonder how well he would handle a batman film. Die hard with a veangence had pretty nice action it's one of my favorite action movies of all time I think he can pull off a batman film pretty nicely.

So, those would be my top5 film directors if nolan ever decides to stop making more batman films. Pretty bad ass eh? What do you guys think of my choices?

That's Peter Jackson!?! Wow, that picture must be old, he looks... not fat.

No that's new pic, he REALLY did stole a weight

Or did he?

Peter jackson is a great director but not a batman movie, his stories seem like epics and batmans' stories are great but they aren't epic. Now if he had directed Superman the movie would have even better than it is now and returns is already an epic since singer directed it.

I have no problem with Peter Jackson directing a Batman film but he might MAKE it a little TOO epic... if you know what i mean?

Jackson would be an interesting choice. With him on board, we can probably get to see the character taken in a different direction and he can probably do some amazing special effets work. Since he doesn't generally ground his films in reality, we'd probably get to see some of the more obscure villians pop up. I bet Jackson could create an awesome Clayface.

Christian Bale makes his directorial debut in BB4 :)

Actually I could really dig Fincher or Whedon, however I would probably pick James McTeigue if I had to name only one. His V for Vendetta rocked the socks off of me and I really liked what he did with it.

The key though is the screenwriter and I would be in Heaven if Jeff Loeb ever got a shot with a Batman skript.

This is exactly were I was going with my comment.

David Fincher, Michael Mann, and Alex Proyas are my three main choices. If Proyas could sorta recreate the Burtonesque world he shaped in The Crow as well as keep the comic accuracy at a high level, he would be my first choice by far.

I think Jackson is much better for Superman or Green Lantern than Batman

I wanted Jackson to direct Superman Returns, but Singer got the job instead.

but singer made it work so I'm not complaining.

Yeah Singer did make it work but I'd like to Peter Jackson direct a future Batman or Superman film.

Superman returns was almost three hours and King kong couldn't have been that long was it I haven't seen it.

Wow, I'm really not going to rent it now Maybe download a better version than i have.
