Who's the most intelligent MU super-villain?

Well, I'm thinking of Strange at his normal level because the nerfing is stupid.

In fairness, Doom doesn't stand much of a chance against Strange unless he's cheating.
Didn't Doom learn all sorts of stuff from Morgan Le Fey when he was boinking her though ? He can add that to all the stuff he learned from his mommy's books and those evil monks.

Enough to rival Strange, though? I'm inclined to think he's still way behind.

He's a lot stronger now since Unthinkable. But in magic, like science, he has his flaw. His arrogance. Strange showed how Doom can never be the best because he doesn't "entreat" spirits to help him. He commands. And that's not the way to excel at magic.

But in "Unthinkable," his magic was pretty much stolen from those demons, right? They f***ed him over at the end of it all. And Franklin. You're Franklin, but you're okay, righ? Noi, there's more. Franklin was okay even thoug he went to hell. He got out of hell and he was coolzies. He was like, "Whatevs, I'm okay even though hell sucks." But Doom was not, right? He is all kinds of f***ed up now.

Well he needed some Yancy Street therapy but he turned out ok. Doom's got his Intel problems at the moment.

But yeah... all that demon stuff was correct, but with Morgan Le Fey he upped his game. He also retained some of his Unthinkable power. Some of it is just knowing the spells to begin with. Then there was living thousands of years amassing power being The Master's apprentice. Or whatever Millar named that guy.

And all of this neglects to mention his magic gained through the contest in that Strange/Doom graphic novel.

We have to admit that Doom has stepped up his game since his early circle drawing stuff.

I don't know. I'm a little drunk right now(). But Doom stil dones't seem like the Strange-level tyepe.

Ultimately. No. But he does have talents that Strange doesn't. Which makes him a dangerous power set.

And don't drink alone. It's sad.

Oh wait... <looks at beer>

I guess we're virtually drinking together. :D

You want to see sad, check the DC Lounge from that time last night.

Wizard is in the Tony Stark ballpark if you ask me. Can't see him going to the Negative Zone.

Not to get off topic, but the repulsor Arc Reactor he had installed in his chest greatly improved his intellect (along with strength and stamina), he's on par with Reed, Pym and Banner now.

As far as I'm concerned Tony, Pym and Banner all have the same thing in common, they have one major fault that will prevent them from ever being on the same level as Reed. Reed's got no major personality flaws that I can think of. Banner's got the Hulk, Pym's got an inferiority complex and Tony can be a cocky *****e.

Reed Richards = G.O.A.T.

Reed is a d*** though.

A temporary fix. Setting up the Flowers for Algernon storyline.

It won't last.

Doom.

But I do want to give the Wizard a nod.

Why? What has he accomplished? He is one of the worst tacticians I have seen.He tries to defeat one of the most powerful super hero groups out there making a team that has no numbers advantage, power advanatage and far inferior team work. Trapster poses no threat to any FF member and yet Wizard wastes a slot on him. For a supposed smart villain, he is almost always written like a total idiot, least when Dr. Octopus creates a super villain to deal with Spider-Man, he relies on superior numbers. Even Wizard's first story portrays him as a dolt, he has a life of fame and wealth and he just decides to throw it away because he's bored and decides to kidnap the Human Torch for no reason. What was he going to do with Human Torch, kill him or keep him as pet? There's only two ways that could have ended, either Human Torch and captures or Reed Richards eventually discovers Wizard's crime and captures him. Wizard could have been like the FF's own Lex Luthor, instead he threw that away so he can be a forth rate evil genius who is more of an annoyance then a threat.

In terms of basic tactical ability, Baron Helmut Zemo seems like the smartest villain, considering the move he had in the siege of the Avengers Mansion and the Thunderbolts story.

I think Tony is way more intelligent then the Wizard. Stark has his own thriving private company, what does Wizard have? And frankly I don't think any of his inventions is as impressive as the Iron Man suit. Wizard strikes me as a street level villain who tries to play with the big boys and fails.
