Who's Your Favorite ROBIN?

Jason is put down a lot for being a.... well, bit of a prat. However I always found him interesting, how he used to disobey batman and all its a shame he got killed off so soon due to rabid fanboys and spineless editors.

Also Jason Todd features in the graphic novel the cult

The issues aren't collected anywhere as I far as I know, but as I said in a previous post, Max Allan Collins' run with the character is really good and worth tracking down.

Batman 402-403, 408-412, Batman Annual #11.

402 and 403 are the last pre-crisis stories before the New Adventures started(404-407 was Year One). 408 marks the first appearance of Post-Crisis Jason Todd.

I'm not too sure where Annual #11 falls, though. There's no month on listed on the cover, just 1987. However, in BATMAN #408, there's an add saying it comes out in April(though #408 was June's issue). So I'm not sure if the Jason in that story is pre or post-crisis.

Regardless, with the exception of 408, you can get the run for pretty cheap. I think 408 cost me 8 bucks or something. And Annual #11 cost me 5. The rest of the issues were 3 bucks or under. It's worth tracking down.

In comics:
Dick as a character
Damian as Robin

Other media:
Tim in B:TAS

Thanks for the help everyone, I'll check ebay and my local shops for those issues!

if we are talking just Robin I belive that Tim is best in the role. However my fav character to where a Robin suit is Dick but he was always meant to be his own man.

It always strikes me as weird... So many Bat-fans love Robin, yet rarely do they want him in a live action film.

I've always been a big believer in having ROBIN in the movies (Batman Forever could have done so much better with him, though)

NOLAN's Robin would be amazing! Alas, he won't do it.

I'm of the mind that any idea could be made plausible if conceived by skilled writers& directors. In the past I've been made to believe that a man could fly, another man could become a fly and that there is a galaxy at war far far away. Mostly because of the good movies with impossible themes that presented them (Superman The Movie, Cronenberg's The Fly and The Empires Strikes Back) in plausible ways.

Robin CAN work but most people in hollywood only know these characters superficially. Mostly from the 1960's TV series (it's why he's an older teenager in BF) so they wouldn't know how to really handle it. I doubt Nolan has even read any comic books that feature Robin in them outside of Dark Victor and that has like 5% Robin in it.

He's a good director and all but going off interviews and such he only read Batman comic books for research purposes. He doesn't really understand all the nuances. It's just like the casual Batman fans who are more into the other media (movies, videogames, tv shows) and not the comics outside of the more popular mainstream tales (Killing Joke, Dark Knight Returns). Nothing wrong with that, a fan is a fan but then I at the same time can't really take their opinion on Robin seriously.

yeah... if someone hasn't read Robin stories, then it's hard to trust your opinion of the character. Same with Superman (who many people think is gay)

Tim Drake. He's the best all around Robin.

Dick was great, but was always meant to be his own man. Damien is fun, but it's too early to see his full potential yet.

My thoughts exactly.

Jason Todd; I love it when the goodies spoil and turn evil. :word:

Tim Drake, most definitely. Jason's a very close second with Damian pulling up in third.

Check the screenname.....Of course it's Jason I always loved the post crisis stuff especially the origin of him trying to steal the hubcaps off of the Batmobile, and his confrontation with Two Face. Always liked that he had an attitude and was a bit of a loose cannon. I think that's why I also like Damian as well. Although I would put Dick second probably since he's the original but then again I do love Tim. Truthfully it's hard to rank them.
