I think it's on earth. we don't even know Asgard has 'grass' so to speak...plus he's not wearing his usual get up and chainmail, which if he was in asgard he more than likely would be.

I'm pretty sure grass was shown in 'Thor' and when Thor first comes to Earth, when he fights IM and Cap he isn't wearing chainmail so he must've left Asgard not wearing it.
