Craig is most definitely James Bond.

Watch the clip and listen and see Craig say:
"Well I wouldn't be any good at my job if it did."
Is that well-acted? Is it said with confidence, or charm or anything remotely Bond-like?
DorkyFresh said:Saw it last night...Craig is, in my opinion, the best Bond yet. Yes even surpassing Connery. Connery will always be remembered as the classic Bond...the Bond that started it all...
...but mark my words, Daniel Craig will be looked at as Bond the way Christian Bale is looked at as Batman. As the most accurate depiction of the literary Bond. Daniel nailed everything perfectly. For the first time in my life, I actually had the feeling that I wanted to be Bond. I never got that from Connery, Moore, Dalton, or even Brosnan. Craig might not be the dashingly handsome like pretty boy Brosnan, but he has the rugged, bad boy thing goin' on that women love so much.
The only thing that could make Craig anymore Bond-like is dying his hair darker. Other than that....he's all Bond baby...and I look forward to seeing him in more Bond films!
I wish Martin Campbell would just take over as the official Bond director...hehe.
I'm with you on the Bond front! The Bond character has to be a leading man and believable as Bond - not come across as the high school janitor on parole! Craig is support role caliber only, not a headliner. Storyline was good, and I sat hoping for better things last night in a theatre of 12 people, and left after 40 minutes. Everyone in the theatre was laughing and groaning - he is James Bland not Bond. It was unanimous Craig cant act and is the worst Bond ever! We could have saved our money and gone to see Happy Feet! Its a story about dancing Penguins and running neck and neck with Bond at the box office. Very appropriate! If prior Bonds could be compared to a car it would be an Aston Martin, Craig comes across as a run down Moped! Hes already past his sell by date.super_fan said:http://www.iklipz.com/Movies.aspx?MovieID=20bdebb1-518a-4396-aa7b-5d99b06b796a

Nope. How can someone so poor at acting like Bond rival Sean Connery? It's impossible. Just look at Craig acting that line. It's poor - Craig has zero confidence, charm, his delivery is leaden. People call me a troll but look at the evidence. Is that the sort of acting you expect to see from a Bond actor? If it's not then you have to question all these reviews that say "Craig is the best Bond ever, the second best to Connery etc."
Just watch and listen to Craig say that line. Is that James Bond or just Daniel Craig speaking with zero conviction? It's the latter. Call me a troll but I'm just telling it how I see it. And I see a terribly miscast actor playing James Bond.
That line is not only badly acted - Craig is clearly failing to open his mouth to deliver the line - the glass covering his mouth makes it look and sound worse.
Craig clearly has no Bond confidence - he admitted the criticism got to him during the early weeks of shooting. And it seems to be evident in these tv spots. Now people say, "Craig is amazing" but if he's so amazing why is that line delivered in such a poor, flat, totally non-Bond way? Why does Craig say "well I understand 00s have a very short life expectancy " in the same drab manner?
Something doesn't add up. If Craig is so amazing, why have Eon and Sony put badly acted lines in the trailer and tv spots? Where is the proof Craig is so amazing? I can't see it in the trailers and tv spots. Where's his Bond confidence? I see none of it. Okay, they're just tiny snippets but they're meant to sell the film to the public. I don't think they work. I''m not sold on Craig so Sony and Eon have failed one Bond fan - me.
If Craig is so great then I suggest Sony Pictures release some actual clips - 30 seconds or so in length - and let's see Craig *acting*. Let's hear his delivery, how he reacts. I'n not believing one word of any review, nor one word from any fan that's gone to a preview screening because as annoying a person as I can be here, I trust my eyes and ears. Craig looks and sounds uncomfortable - the delivery seems dour and monotone - that is my evidence - my proof.
And unless I see some actual clips or break my promise and pay to see Casino Royale, I'm not taking any other person's word that "Craig is the best Bond since Connery." Connery would have said the CR trailer lines with genuine charm or confidence - Craig doesn't and I fail to see how this man is worthy to play the most iconic movie hero of the 20th century.

It's because of Vespers betrayal that he turns on the super charms to get into womans prize pocessions-their pants. The Bond we all know would not have left Solange with a bottle of champagne, to go to miami and stop a terrorist attack...he would have tapped it first!. That demostare that Bond was not BOND yet.

Yup. But at this point, it doesn't matter. It's just different views, and people will dissent over Craig, just as there has been dissention over every previous Bond.Gammy79 said:fighting to the very end, eh Craig haters?![]()

What does the novel say about him leaving Solange? You do know we're talking about Solange and not Vesper?Tojo said:No way. That moment was extremley Bondian. Bond is totally commited to his job;
'Being a man, he wanted to sleep with Vesper, but only after the job was finished'.
That's an excerpt from the Casino Royale novel. He wouldn't stick around to bone a hot woman when there is a terrorist on the loose and he has only a limited amount of time. I definatley would, that girl was smoking, but Bond wouldn't. He just used her. If she hadn't died he probably would have gone back. Very Bond, reminded me of Connery.
Solange isn't in the novels.Golgo13:The Hitman said:What does the novel say about him leaving Solange? You do know we're talking about Solange and not Vesper?

But in the novels, Bond always puts his job above sex. As it should be.
