For the Catwoman design only really the ears is what bothers me. I would not say she looks all together terrible.

I should have specified that. Her ears are what really bothers me. Im not too crazy about the Joker either. I do like what they have done with Mr. Freeze though.

i hate Mr Freeze's redesign. he looks like Ghost Rider with ice instead of water. Joker looks like Blanca from Street Fighter.

having said that, Catwoman's design would be great if she didn't have Mickey Mouse ears.

Nah the Freeze design is not that bad. He does not look like Ghost Rider...suit is nothing like it or anything...only thing similar is the ice around his head is oddly shaped in somewhat the shape a flame would be.

a few years ago there was a very unpopular GR redesign in the comics which looks kinda like Mr Freeze's outfit in this.

yeah, Frozen skull head and flaming skull head are nothing alike...sarcasm there, btw :o

After watching Justice League and Superman: The Animated Series on DVD, I just can't help but see that the DCAU by Bruce Timm was much more mature than the Batman.

In Superman: The Animated Series you have real guns, Lashina downright said she had sex with Superman, Superman got bloddied, the fights with Darkseid were brutal, Dan Turpin was killed, etc.

You don't have any of that in The Batman. Many fans who grew up on the Bruce Timm DCAU just can't get past that well, the Batman and future DC cartoons are most likely not be for their demographic unless it is done by Timm, Dini, McDuffe, & the others. That was probally the biggest slap in the face for many who hate the Batman. It's not meant for them. Our time has past.

Basically, most of the people who dislike The Batman grew up in a time where kids' shows didin't treat the kids like wussy idiots. We had shows that were very well written, very inteligent, and didn't shy away from the darkness every now and then. B:TAS, Samurai Jack, Pete and Pete, Invader Zim, S:TAS, Batman Beyond, Angry Beavers, Animaniacs, Histeria, Pinky and the Brain, Rocko's Modern Life, M.E.G.A.S. Xlr, Ren and Stimpy, The Tick, all great shows. Now? Not so much.

Thank you for saying that; exactly.

i watched pretty much all of the shows you just named.

Ditto.

My childhood was in the 1970s. I've seen CRAP cartoon series and The Batman still gets on my nerves. I just don't like the character designs. It seems like they've instituted changes just for the sake of change which is never a good thing.

It's a pretty good show, not as good as Batman: TAS but so what? The fight scenes are much better. Batman's movements are also much more acrobatic, which I like.
t's not bad but I just waste my time on it I'm getting too old for that !

why is Bruce face so mess up as if he got punch too hard and end up with that tipsy curvy face !

Its ruining our youth! giving them false ideas about the villains and stories!

I always hated the riddler design...I like mine better :)

Reasons to dislike "The Batman"

Music
Artwork - most of the character designs are horrible
Voice Acting
Story arcs

Those are the main offenses for me. I've watched many episodes and I just can't into it like the animated series back in 1992.

I am in full, full, full agreement. PLUS the characterization of Bruce Wayne is off-putting to me.

Awesome shows, but weren't Samurai Jack, Invader Zim, and Batman Beyond more recent?

Well Batman Beyond wasn't really that recent. I understand you mentioning Samurai Jack though which is still pretty recent.

Invader Zim rocked.
GIR was one of the greatest cartoon creations known to mankind.

This series had its moments. Not as great as the animated series but I did enjoy it overall.

This was the first 'new' Batman cartoon after the Paul Dini/Bruce Timm iteration. It was always going to suffer from that positioning, even if it had actually been a much better show. Being a kid when it came on, I distinctly remember feeling that it simply didn't measure up to the Burton inspired aesthetics I'd been used to. The art style and character designs were not to my tastes, in a lot of cases felt like they were being different just for the sake of being different, and ultimately just left a bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't a fan of this when it was on.

I don't think everyone hates The Batman at all. Some people actually do like the show. The show had a respectable run, a DTV movie, and a successful toyline. The show did its job.

Among hardcore fans, going to that Jeff Matsuda art style is a bit extreme. It looks quite different from the Timm style people had become accustomed.

As the show progressed, I think it got better, and it became a decent show.

I think the other issue is the show was deliberately written to be more "toyetic" and had a lot of gimmicks to make it more appealing to kids, which tends to get more criticism.
