The Dark Knight Why does Maroni throw acid at Harvey?

I'd prefer Maroni do the scarring (via acid-tossing in the courtroom), because it helps keep the whole mob vs. the freaks theme.

true, but the Joker will still be simlar to 89 version with some changes here and there. But the penguin will be complete 360.

What happens when you turn something 360 degrees? Think for a second.

Just pointing it out.

Don't be silly. Of course the public knows it. If they didn't, they're going to be wondering why it wasn't Joker killing Bruce Wayne's parents in Batman Begins, or how Joker is alive and kicking in The Dark Knight, when he clearly died in Batman 89.

I've come across many people complaining about Begins "messing up" Batman's origin by not having the Joker kill his parents. You have to remember that the general public doesn't follow/care about the mythos as much as you or I do, whether it be the comics or the films.

This movie should help clear up any confusion about this being a new franchise, though.

I really really hope Joker does the scarring. This way it'd be impossible for Joker and Two Face to team up. You have no idea how tired I am of stupid team ups.

But the Batman franchise is one where a team-up would be great! Don't deny me my dream-scene for the third Batman film:

A Godfather-style montage, where the remaining old-school gangsters are picked off, one by one, by the uprising of "freaks" in Gotham.

The gangsters being replaced by Batman's rogues gallery was one of my favourite elements of "The Long Halloween"/"Dark Victory".

I dont mind who throws the acid, although the whole IBIHD stuff shows Joker tormenting Dent. So Joker scarring him would probably be more intereting.

I have no idea why anyone is talking about Penguin. He was an early rumour right at the start. Ive read a old Nolan interview on Rottentomatos where he states that Penguin would be a difficult character to create and doesnt seem too interested.

I wouldnt be surprised if we dont see Penguin in any of Nolans Batman films.
