Why the hate for Wolverine?

ntcrawler said:
Again it's the end result that counts. And in the end, she totally chose Scott. Accept the defeat gracefully, JELO fan, just like Logan himself did.

Accept defeat? What am I supposed to do, hold a funeral for my X-Men DVDs?

danoyse said:
Well, yay...congratulations for figuring that out.
Pointless response :o

danoyse said:
And we weren't as connected. Think about how much fun we all had at the movie. Don't you feel bad you read all those comic books now? :p

No, im glad too know there is a better story out there. Fun i actually tried to have fun but couldn't. Dam why do we have to go and be different as ppl.

danoyse said:
You have my blessing to like whatever you want.

thanks oh so much............another pointless response :o

And first post on this thread was from a Wolverine fan who didn't understand what the problem was.

and we answered him...........................why are you taking us in circles?

Oh, you should!
Take a look at the quotes from the book I put on this thread...a very beautiful moment between Jean and Logan during the "kiss scene"! :)

I saw...must read the rest!

Yeah, we´re all part of this big conspiracy, didn´t you know?
Wolverine fans, Fox, Ratner, Hugh Jackman, Zak...we all have secret meetings with the only purpose of screwing Cyclops and his fans over... :o

That's what I was out doing tonight. I saw "Scoop", with Hugh Jackman (funny movie, btw), and "Superman Returns" (with, of course, James Marsden) was playing next door. I stood in the doorway of SR and yelled "I HATE CYCLOPS!!!" as loud as I could, then went off to my movie. :p

Because you keep complaining. :p

I know writing so well that I use capital letters and punctuation. :p

It's just a silly argument. I saw a movie, I enjoyed the character. He's the wallpaper on my cell phone. Why would I want to make the lives of the fans of other characters miserable?

Look, I understand...I've seen books and plays I love get butchered into movies. I can relate, I really can.

But I know I'm not facing eternal damnation because I enjoy a popular character in a movie series...and sorry, I'm not losing any sleep because the other character's fans feel wronged. I feel bad, but in the end...they're not real.

I was psyched to hear that James Marsden was cast in the "Hairspray" movie, because I loved the show and can't wait to hear him sing. I saw Hugh Jackman in "Scoop" tonight, and never thought of X-Men once. It's just life continuing on it's normal course...

Okay so then what the hell are you debatin us about?!

We are here in a thread dedicated to talking about why the hate?

your here doing what exactly? if you refuse to be affected by anything ,which is right you shouldn't, you don't really care why are you here debating us. YOUR TAKING US IN CIRCLES HERE!!! :p :D

No. Just stop fantasizing about Logan and Jean. It may have stood some sort of... possibility as you like to call it, but in the end it failed.

I like Scott and Jean's reunion scene better. It was more touching and tearful. And there is no substance more powerful than a woman's tear.

Well that's what the end result was, wasn't it? Your conspiracy succeeded quite nicely. Oh and you forgot to mention Donner, she wanted to axe Cyclops too. But of course tangible evidence of this has already been exposed, so it's not just a conspiracy theory but a fact. And who got to take Cyclops' place? Wolverine of course. So excuse people if they're just a little bit upset.

I knew it, you're Tom Rothman's personal ****.

Here's my favorite passage:

The things Scott said were hard to listen to and harder still to understand. But in a way, Logan had known them from the start. He’d just been in denial for a very long time. But he suddenly realized that in order to be honest with himself, he first needed to be honest with Scott. “You know, maybe you didn’t hear me the first time, Scooter,” Logan finally spoke up again. “I said I kissed her. Maybe she did, sort of, kiss me back. But she loved you, I know that. I knew it then too.” he confessed. “She loved you,” he repeated. It had been what he meant by the words he’d spoken to the man several days ago: She chose you. He knew there had never really been a choice for her to make.

“I know,” Scott replied. He was not trying to sound egotistical, nor was he attempting to get under Logan’s skin again. He simply spoke what he believe to be true in the pit of his stomach and the deepest reaches of his heart. He knew Jean loved him in spite of everything else that might have been going on in her head. “There’s something else you should probably know Logan. The only reason Jean was attracted to you, was because of you,” Scott intoned.

“Well, obviously,” Logan looked at Scott like he was the biggest idiot to walk the earth. He’d just confessed one of his best kept secrets and now the Boy Scout was playing masters of the obvious. He figured he’d never understand the man.

Scott shook his head. “I don’t think you understand, Logan. What I mean is that Jean was channeling your emotions in regard to her and relaying them back to you,” he revealed.

“What?”

“She was a very strong telepath Logan, but she never fully had a grasp on her power. Sometimes things got confused in her head,” Scott began his explanation. “Xavier spent countless hours with her since the day she set foot in this place and still there were aspects of her power that even he did not understand. One second inside someone else’s head was enough for her to pick out the finest level of detail about a person’s psyche. And sometimes she got a little confused as to which traits were her own and which belonged to others,” he finished.

“You mean, sort of like when Rogue absorbed my powers and took on a few of my characteristics?” Logan asked.

“I guess that’s a pretty decent definition; as good as any I could come up with,” Scott agreed.

Logan knew he had lied to himself about his feelings for Jean. That was his mistake. But the realization that Jean had possibly never felt anything for him, beyond what she channeled through his own emotions. He hated it. He hated it so much that he wanted someone else to feel just as ****ty as he did at the moment. “Did you ever stop to think that maybe she was doing the same thing with you all these years?” Logan asked.

“No,” confidence radiated from Scott’s immediate answer. He knew what Logan was trying to do. “She couldn’t,” Scott began again, realizing that he would have to tell Logan everything in order to get the man off his back. “You see, my brain is sort of damaged,” he reluctantly revealed. He hated to speak of that particular issue or how it came to be. But if it would set Logan strait once and for all, it was worth the small degree of humiliation and pain that might surface. “It’s nothing major in regard to normal functionality but it’s what keeps me from being able to control my optic blasts. And the professor thinks that it’s somehow responsible for my being able to shield against some telepathic probing,” he explained.

There was a confused frown on the Wolverine’s face. “But I thought the professor contacted you through telepathy sometimes. And Ororo said that you and Jean had shared some sort of telepathic connection. Doesn’t that mean she was swimming around in your head a lot?” Logan was still confused.

“He does, we did, and she was,” Scott replied to all of Logan’s inquires. “My shielding is not exactly full proof and I can’t really control it like a telepath would. But I did manage to keep my true feeling about Jean a secret for quite some time. She wasn’t able to just pluck them from my mind. Therefore, she wasn’t able to confuse them with her own,” he explained. “We fell in love the old fashioned way,” he told the other man. A smile graced his lips as he remembered their long and often times tumultuous courtship.

Logan felt a twinge of jealousy arise in his stomach as he listened to Scott’s words, finally letting it all sink in. He wished that he could know what it was like to be loved by someone like Jean. And he wondered if he would ever find a connection with someone like Scott and Jean had clearly had. He still wasn’t quite sure what to make of all that Scott had told him. But he finally realized that he indeed had never stood a chance with the lovely red head.

Absolutely! And you know what I just posted is the truth. The root of the problem. But it's nice to know I'm not alone.

In good times and bad, we stand united!!!

[high five] :)

Jean also cried on the kiss scene, you know... ;)

Oh man, you really believe there´s a conspiracy out there!

Nice to see you Gambitfire, I just comeback here to see if theres some good new regarding Cyclops.:)

Maybe she cried when she realized she had betrayed Scott and his heart that he gave only to her to hold?

No, I didn't ignore them. I just won't give you the satisfaction of trying to convince me that Jean's attraction to whatever Logan had to offer her would be enough of a force to break apart the bond she has with Scott or to even be seen as a considerable threat. Because I know it wasn't enough. And this is where the comics do play an important role. Things may have been changed in the movie from the comics, but the characters are based on the comics. Including their backgrounds. These things were not made up out of thin air. You just keep insisting about there being only a possibility now because you know as well as I do that the end result was Jean + Scott and not Jean + Logan.

Oh man, you really believe there´s a conspiracy out there!

Yes, but I'm not dumb enough to think that you or Danoyse had anything to do with it, but since you're both obviously strong Wolverine fans you definitely benefited from it, so it's not like you would ever mount a protest or expressed your displeasure publicly or privately at the process.

This conspiracy is called business. Business stepping in front of art and good story telling. Manipulating a movie for the sake of increasing short-term profit. This is what happens when management interferes with a writer's and director's ability to create their story or be involved in the storymaking process. This is one of the main reasons why X3 turned out the way it did, why Cyclops got hosed the way he did, why the Phoenix saga got turned from a story of love and sacrifice into a story about an out of control monster that needed to be destroyed, and why people are upset. To deny that is to be in self denial about what are now known facts.

No, i havn't seen him around. Not in this thread anyways, which without being mean is kind of a good thing. Knowing him he would just pretty much rip Wolverine left and right without being the least bit reasonable :p.

They think we are bad but the wrath of Kurosawa is something to fear. :D lol
