I think bane will, and talia brings wayne to the lasarus pit to heal him

Bane breaking batmans back would be awesome to see, but on the other hand I think it would take too long for bruce to fully recover and come back to "rise."

Soo I think what will happen is bane will just brutally torture him

He wont break the bat.

HE WILL KILL THE BAT.

If Bruce had his back broken I don't think he could even walk. I'm no doctor but I think he would be strolling in a wheelchair or just stay in bed. From the trailer we could see that he walks in a cane so maybe he falls from a certain height or Bane beats him good.
Maybe later in the movie Bane breaks something.

Yeah if your back was broken you would be in a wheelchair for a loong time. But bruce using the cane could be later on in the recovery process

I beleive he does break his back. That's why in the teaser Gordon says "The Batman must come back."

Not only that but I also beleive that's why the film is called The dark knight RISES. Another reason I don't think Nolan will kill Batman off :yay: .

No.

It's a bit too easy to use this. I think Mr. Nolan wants to surprise us and will break something else.

He will break his mind for sure though.

It's a tough one to say. Batman is so driven and so determined that I can't imagine a broken leg, broken arm or a bad beating would put him out of action for too long. 6 months to 1 year maybe, depending on the injury. And with Wayne's resources, he'd have the best doctors and surgeons available to him in order to get back on his feet pretty quickly.

However, a broken back is an entirely different thing and would physically incapacitate him totally for a long, long time. A lot of people never heal from a broken back.

There's also much more symbolism involved in breaking someone's back. When you break someone's backbone (literally or metaphorically), you vanquish that person and render them pretty much incapable of doing anything. That's all Bane in the comics wanted when he took on Batman - not to kill him, but to better him. And as we all know, Nolan seems to love symbolism in these films. Bruce himself decided to become a symbol ("make yourself more than a man") in Batman Begins, and in The Dark Knight there was a lot of symbolism used - Joker representing chaos, Harvey Dent/Two-Face representing the duality of good/evil, and much more.

Some may say that Nolan having Bane break Batman's back would be too predictable, but that's only to fans of the comic series who are actually familiar with Bane. A lot of the general audience may only have a vague notion (if any) of who Bane is, and even less of them would be aware of comic series like Knightfall. Regardless of predictability or any other criticism, having Bane snap Bruce's spine to deliberately cripple him would likely have a huge and lasting impact on the audience, and also demonstrate the brutality of Bane much more than an arm/leg break, which is something you see in many action films nowadays.

I think no matter what they do, Bane's 'moment' with Batman is going to be pretty brutal and tough to watch.

Next Batman movie, Terry McGinnis. Adam West as old Bruce Wayne. I don't know, was/is 'Batman Beyond' popular?

I think they will allude to it, but not actually follow through, similar to Dent being attacked in court, but not scarred. I do think he'll be seriously hurt, but a broken back, unless there's another time jump within the film itself, I can't see it.

The better question, will Bane break Batman's heart?

I smell a fanfic. :awesome:

Here we see what seems to be Mr. Wayne walking with a cane. Link to HD trailer below so you can see the reflection better.

In this pic it looks as if Wayne is limping, perhaps walking with the cane seen earlier.

The final clue we have is bruce injured, and on some sort of bed with Bane (Tom Hardy) towering over him. Bane says:
"When Gotham is ashes you have my permission to die."

All these hints imply that Bruce has a leg injury but not that Bane caused it.

My guess is that Bane will take advantage of the wounded batman and break his spine or even kill him.

It's just mind boggling to me.... 12 votes for "no"? I mean, seriously?...

I completely agree with this. It would be actually awesome if Nolan were so bold...alas we`ll have to see.

I'm going for option three. I'm not sure if Bane will outright break Bruce's spine like in Knightfall, partly because such an injury would be extremely hard to recover from unless you add in a Lazarus pit (or something like it). I do think Bane will critically wound Bruce though, to the point that he'll be out of commission and walking with a cane.

no I think that scene is towards the start. Batman had retired after TDK because Harvey's death made Gotham better. Bane makes Batman return but he's out of form and gets schooled.
