I don´t wanna make any predictions that may come back to haunt me later... I just want it to make well enough so they make another one and we get to see Lizard, Electro or Mysterio. These are the villains left that I want to see. I don´t care to see the series run to the point where you´re left with Frog-Man or Hypno Hustler...

It's heavily anticipated, but I don't think there has ever been a time wherea sequel outperformed it's predecessor. 1st movies always attract more people, out of curiosity....but theres always going to be people who didnt like what they saw. so the 2nd took in those who were still interested, and those that liked 2 will see 3. I'm surprised the budget is so big on this one.....I think it has the potential to be the best of the 3 story-wise. If it does do better than teh others, I dont think 3 will ever be topped as it has the most popular baddie.........

I think it will make more than Spider-man 2 at least.

It has a shot at surpassing the BO on the first one on Venom alone.

I think the presence of Venom, small or not, is going to bring the audience.

I don't see how venom's appearance will attract anymore people than doc ocks or GG, to clueless movie audiences he's just another villain...it really depends on how they market him, mysterious or full out action monster

it's not the same at all, vader was the most infamous movie villain of all time 30 years before the prequels came out, everyone knew who he was, nobody apart from spider-man comic/cartoon knows who venom is.

People know Venom dammit. To the mainstream viewers he is the most recognizable and most infamous Spider-man villain. Even moreso than Doctor Octopus and The Green Goblin. Yes it's true. That's why the Vader comparison is valid.

And unlike Vader in Episode III, Venom in Spider-man 3 will deliver.

not one person I have spoken to about this film knows who venom is, and rightfully so, they would have no reason to know, people now know who the GG is and who Doc Ock is because they have been shown to the masses, people know who the joker is because he has been in a number of shows/movies etc.

I see tons of Venom merchandise in stores. I see more Venom action figures for Spider-man than Doc Ock and Goblin.

Venom got a Marvel Legends ICONS piece before Goblin and Ock.

I would like it to make more than the second, and possibly top the first one, but it's tough to estimate. Movie has a nice advantage with the beginning of May opening and like others have said Venom will be a huge draw. Marketing so far has been very good and the trailer with Casino Royale will add to the buzz for the movie.

I believe that the the 3rd will definitely outgross the 2nd and most likely also the 1st one. I agree too that VENOM will be the crowd drawer here even to the those not so familiar with the Spidey stories since to the present day's target audience VENOM would be most popular.

You dont see why?!... Because the two villains in the previous movie's were in fact humans still... UNlike X-Men where there's ALL SORTS of mutants/creatures everywhere, Spider-Man's villains has been very humane still. VENOM in Spidey-3 is a freaken MONSTER! That's something TOTTALLY different and new in the Spidey movie's, dont you see it?... This is something entirely different from the other movie's. It'll definitly draw people in to see it, wether they know the character or not.

well i'm REALLY looking foward to SM3...i know it will pass 2 and it will be close with 1 in either being under it by a little or being over it by a little. i know its come some other movies coming out with it but its Spider-Man, everyone is going to go see it no matter what else is out. and even though the last superhero movies like SR and X3 weren't as good as everyone thought, they did great in the box office, maybe not as great as they would have liked, but it did do great. or even pirates 2, which i thought was great, but not better than the first one, but it shattered spideys record...i know for a certainty that SM3 will be awesome, and people will go see it more than once, i know i will. opening night i'll be in the city watching it for the first of many times. so i think it will do great and make it very close to beating spider-man 1's record.
