No offense, Coner, but I really hate threads like this.

1.) It's impossible to say if it'll be "better" since nobody's seen the bloody movie yet, it's not done being MADE!

2.) The usage of "better" here makes it sounds like Batman Begins wasn't great, when in fact it WAS great. If TDK is just "on par" with Begins I will be one happy mofo. If it's actually better, I will be completely floored.

3.) Threads like this just take up space because, see #'s 1&2.

Sorry, dude...
Its cone not coner but I know no one has seen the movie yet but im just asking if they think it will be better

It's hard to say. The things l like so far is the new Batsuit. I'm glad that Katie Holmes is out of the picture as well. I don't like the casting of Heath Ledger as the Joker. The first official picture didn't help matters either. It could be better than Begins or it could suck. You never know.

If they **** Joker up and make him into a makeup-wearing, lipstick-smearing, green-hair dyed psychopath without giving him the chemical perma-clowning than I think it'll suck because it'll go against the comics and furthermore Nolan saying he's "a purist" will be just bat****.

Seriously, I don't understand why the people on here like this new Joker? I didn't mind Joker being Bruce's parents' killer in Burton's Batman (yes was wrong, it was Joe Chill) but I was fine with that and they gave him an origin story. Here it just seems Nolan isn't trying hard and is getting out of the fantasy of the Joker. Seems like no origin other than he is a guy obsessed with clowns and robs banks. Wow, really pulled a rabbit out of a hat with that one Chris. :whatever:

I also have my doubts with all the mobs being introduced. It seems like Nolan is packing in too many characters. If they're given little screentime it'll work out, but if he gives him lots than expect to see a long, played out Batman film that critics might be harsh too.

Lastly, I hope Harv's transformation isn't rushed. I think we need two films before Two-Face comes out. Two-Face should be brought into three IMO. Though I don't mind a cliffhanger ending in TDK where it'd make Batman look like he failed to save his friend, I think it'd be more appropriate in 3.

I didn't vote, cos I think there should be more options, like a maybe? But I agree with NinjaTurtleFan when he expresses worry about how Nolan seems to be handling the Joker. I'm really worried too.

I am pretty confident that TDK will be better than BB.

Of course I mean the freaking Joker and Two-Face are in the same movie...

BB was a great start like SPiderman

TDK will be lik Spiderman 2, in that it is the best of the triology ( best story/plot because of Joker)

TDK sequel will have so much damn hype but the movie will disapointment compared to 2nd movie. Movie will be good but not even Harvey Dent can compete with Joker

therefore it will be a spiderman movie in a sense where fans will be some what disapointed when the 3rd comes out

Nolan isn't Raimi.

Batman isn't spider-Man.

We don't know what TDK and Batman 3 will be like.

i think TDK will be better than the the first, from what i read so far.

It'll probably be better. But BEGINS had such a great origin, THE DARK KNIGHT will really have to be awesome.

I'm really not sure. "Begins" was the story that Nolan et al really wanted to tell, while "TDK" was more of an afterthought. Measured against that is the fact that the crew return to the sequel with a lot more experience in the genre. On a cruder level, Liam Neeson is likely to prove a much more magnetic villain than Heath Ledger. I suppose its a points-win for "Begins", though it is far too early to say.

I think there's two things here. Satisfaction and quality. I think Batman Begins will always be the most satisfying Batman film for me, but TDK definitely has the potential to surpass its quality. I know one thing: they will NOT top the scene with Bruce accepting the bats as his friends in the cave. That is probably my all-time favorite scene in any film. Every time I see it, it sends crazy chills down my spine. There is nothing more satisfying in the Batman world than that scene.

Well, considering Batman Begins is already a better movie in my book than Spidey 2, I'd say if it drops off on the third film then it can't get as bad as SM3. The biggest problem with SM3 was the dialogue and acting. With the Nolans in charge of the dialogue, and such great actors like Bale and Caine involved, I see no reason why BB3 would suck donkey balls like SM3. I think BB3 will break the superhero trilogy curse. In fact, the BB trilogy might end up being one of the best in film history if they can keep up the quality. But they gotta get over the initial sequel hump with TDK first.

Suppose one didn't even like Batman Begins that much to begin with?

I never vote in these crystal balls polls because I don't have a crystal ball so I can't know if it's going to be better or not.

Nevertheless I strongly believe it's going to be better. Katie is out so the cast is going to be better. Goyer is not on the dialogues so the dialogues will be better too. And I don't know why I think Nolan will improve indeed his choppy edition for the action sequences. Plus we have a new approach on Joker that looks good so far. Oh and the new suit.

I think it'll be better.

I didn't like it that much, but it had some good elements that are undeniable and very rare to find in the average superhero movie. And that's Nolan, a very good director with an enormous genuine talent. Now the execs are happy with the BO, they let Nolan to be more of himself and less Hollywood, so at least the things I didn't like - mainly bad one liners, shallow "morals" and elements like the annoying kid - are less likely to be there again.

It's impossible to know for sure, but as a betting man, I'd say yes. They've established the origin and they've got better villains this time around... I mean, it's the Joker... I think it will top Begins.

I think it will be better than Batman Begins. However, I'd say about 15% of me right now is expecting disappointment. Most people are highly optimistic, but there's still a chance the movie could not be as good as Batman Begins.

i think just having the joker in this movie makes it better.
heck i think u could put nipples on batman and it would be better than begins
.............never mind about the nipples thing.

I'm not expecting a great movie, but one that's better than BB.
