Yeah. I don't think Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale would stand for inferiority. Plus they've already been two for two with Batman Begins and The Prestige. No reason why they wont get it done with The Dark Knight.

I think it will. Everything that was a little off in BB, can be tweaked or thrown out. For instance, Goyer is gone, and hopefully great lines like "Sweet ride..." are gone with him.

So, yeah.

Why does everyone hate Goyer? He’s involved with the film not so much as Begins

I don't hate Goyer, I hate Goyer's one-liners.

I understand that, I don't think Nolan would have made good Batman movie without Goyer's knowledge source material. That’s one of the reasons why Goyer was hired.

Meh, he could have just used his brother from the start, he did consult on Begins anyway

Agreed. I think that arrangement works best. Goyer gives an overall story arc with plot points. The Nolan’s work out the details. That way we are spared Goyer's cheese dialogue but his comic inspired influence is still present.

"Don't burden yourself with these secrets of scary people."

I think this topic poses a ridiculous question. There is no way to know for sure. Now if the question was "do you think..." then maybe it would make more sense. From the way things are looking, TDK is a very ambitious movie and is definitely looking to topple BB. As for whether it will or not, we'll see on 7/18/08.

Apparently not too ridiculous for you to respond to it...

Who knows. Its always hard to get pass the first installment greatness.

For one thing, the script should be considerably less expositional than the first, considering it doesn´t have to tell the details of Batman´s origin anymore.

yes...considerably.

See, anybody who says something like that before the film is even filmed is overzealous. I'm banking towards it being better, but hey, I was also banking for SPIDER-MAN 3 to be the best of the franchise based on the spoilers we got.

I am a little terrified actually.

Let me explain that, for me Batman Begins was the BEST film in the past couple of years... the only two films that I can rank even close are Casino Royale and Transformers.

Batman Begins is also my favorite superhero film EVER!!!!!!!

So, due to that my expectations may be unnaturally high- and I'm talking God level high and 100% perfection.... will it reach that? I don't know, I certainly hope so. But, as I said- due to the expectations being through the roof and out into a galaxy more than far far away, I am a little cautious and scared... if that makes sense?

No offense, Coner, but I really hate threads like this.

1.) It's impossible to say if it'll be "better" since nobody's seen the bloody movie yet, it's not done being MADE!

2.) The usage of "better" here makes it sounds like Batman Begins wasn't great, when in fact it WAS great. If TDK is just "on par" with Begins I will be one happy mofo. If it's actually better, I will be completely floored.

3.) Threads like this just take up space because, see #'s 1&2.

Sorry, dude...

I think this will be the best Batman movie made by a long shot. I like everything I've seen so far and I like the cast. I think this movie will also be darker than BB, at least I certainly hope so. And I also hope that they don't try to keep the amount of violence in check just to keep a "G" rating if you know what I mean.

Like I said in another thread, you whiners out there will learn to appreciate Batman Begins years from now. You can’t compare the two films, its one continuous story.

I think TDK will be better then BB. But I havn't seen the movie yet, then again The Joker will be in it. eh.. guess it really depends on who you ask.

There is definately potential for TDK to be an overall better, and more satisfying movie that that of Batman Begins. Yes. Absolutely.

"TDK" better than "Begins"?

That's like asking whether or not the White House be better off post-Bush...

It's a No-Brainer, if you ask me; just as "Begins" owned "FF" in 2005, "TDK" will serve "Begins" its own ass on a platter...

It's a tough call, BB was/is great.

Did Goyer write Ra's's (hehe) lines?

I thought he and Nolan shared work on the scripts. So who's responsible for the corny one-liners and the detailed, rich monologues?

Nolan and Bale have even said that they wouldn't do a sequel unless if they felt it would be better than BB and that it would take it to the next level.

Obviously they feel that way. And I trust them.
