I've been thinking...

While alot of guys have been cancelling, there are some people that have jumped aboard BND... and I think it might be evening out. These big dramatic turns always draw attention.

So I thought, maybe cancelling the book in protest isn't enough, because the sales figures just won't show the annoyance in direction.

So what if Spider-Girl got a bigger sales boost? That would definately send a signal about the kind of direction people want.

That's when I came up with the idea that the guys that have cancelled, the guys that aren't happy but are still buying...

We could all start buying two issues or more each of Spider-Girl.

If ya think it's a good idea, get the message out there and post this idea on any comic boards you go to.

I think I should have included more poll optinons, like a "I'll support Spider-Girl but just one issue for me".

Better yet, just convince the next person you see at the store not to buy ASM and pick up ASG instead. Or just talk a friend into buying it. Getting two issues won't do much because it's not like we're freaking legion here and it's not like we're gonna keep double buying it. Much better to just get someone else interested. Marvel wanted us spiderfans to spread the word on how great ASM is now because they're not really publicizing it too much (too hard to explain and raises too many questions) so they gave us slott and mcniven (which was pretty crafty) to make it hard for us not to like it, which it is. Instead, just talk up ASG to anyone that will listen. If everyone here that likes Spider-Girl gets one new customer to the title, that will make a difference.

Now you're just looking for a fight. I'm not buying, I'm sure if you thought really hard you might be able to picture why that statement is a glaring contridiction.

It is to you. SG was never intended to be an extension of the MU. I see no reason why I can't enjoy both.

Here's the thing buying ASG means you have good taste and enjoy a real spider tale, written by people that take your opinions seriously and don't insult you with pointless tie ins that should never have been and magical resets that make your hero in league with the devil.

Then you go and support ASM and well people just start questioning your sanity.

I got news for you md: I don't really give a crap what anyone thinks about my sanity. Write a dissertation on it for all I care. Knock yourself out. It's my money. I'll buy what I like. And I like Brand New Day. And I like Spider-Girl. It's you guys who are turning it into either one or the other, which is patently ridiculous.

If you don't, why did you respond on this point? Unless you care about us knowing you don't care?

Calm down, deep breaths, that's was friendly sparing only. You're mother hasn't even been mentioned (yet). I get that you love the new ASM direction but you also need to understand that for a reasonable amount of loyal spiderfans everything from Sins Past to BND has been like watching a beloved sibling get a sex change operation against their will by the devil. And every supporter of BND means that the rest of us have to wait that much longer before marvel self corrects.

Well, I've got bad news for you then, because I actually buy two, one if my nephew wants to read it.

I like both Amazing Spdier-Man AND Amazing Spider-Girl, and buy one copy of each book.

It's a nice feeling to be an enigma to the Moral Minority... :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

:yay:

Since when was it a crime to like Spider-Man and Spider-Girl?

I've been reading SG since day one, and I ain't stopping no time soon.

I'll look at it as an option...

But I'm going to wait until the "newness" wears off and ASM/BND sales start to slide... which they will. The people that always buy 1st issues for their possible collectable value are going to drop out, as may some of the Slott fans.

When the sales of ASM fall, I think it will be tempting to make the sales of ASG go up...

But, that would still be giving money to Marvel... I don't think I can do that anytime soon. Joey Q may be the devil, but he had to have help.

I'm somewhat surprised that YOU, of all people, do not buy this book.

I've heard you say that Spidey with boobs looks weird to you, but it's been one of the better Spider-Man books out there for the last 10 + years...

If anything, you should have been supporting this book all along... but I understand your gripe with giving Marvel your money.

:csad:

Since when was it a crime to like Spider-Man and Spider-Girl?
Since Joe Quesada used Mephisto as a pawn to rape spidey and invalidate the possibility of Spider-Girl's reality be a possible future for Spidey...

The reality of Spider-Girl's future became invalid shortly after the Clone Saga...

I'm buying Spider-Girl, but I wont buy more than one issue.

You are aware Spider-Girl started in WHAT IF? right?

Also, since when did the word rape get tossed around so freely, that annoys me, can you find a better word to describe your whiney continuity problems?

You mean the gathering of Five 's package... there was still a possibility that she was alive, but with the extreme tampering of contiuity by Mephisto there is now NO chance that Mayday's alive now...

DUH! that's why I said that thanks to Mephisto the possibility of the MC2 becoming a [/i]possible[/i] outcome for the 616 is invalidated... I did not say that IT WAS the future of the 616...
It's easier to say Joe Q raped Spidey than saying:
Joe Q forced Spider-man's character into a lot of out-of-character moments through the last few years, allowed the tampering of certain key events and made extremely convulted changes to extremely messed up stories in order to force the characters past the point of no return and then have the Devil fix things up when most of the mess was made by him and his crew just cause he hated the fact that Peter was married to Mary Jane...
