Has anyone else been really impressed with Erick Rowan since the split? I'd always seen him as the weak link of the Wyatts but he's been surprising me every week. Like, where did this come from? :

I dig his new theme.

Aside from Ryback, it was a well booked ME. Rollins looked phenomenal, Ziggler was the last man and gets the rub, and Rusev was protected. Big question mark is that Cena has the power to reinstate the Authority, so I'm figuring how that will come about. I really thought Rollins was going to get up and try to attack Sting, but it is what it is.

Pretty much, but it actually made sense because Ziggler was out a long time. He was more or less a non-threat at that point.

What did they do with Roidsack? I'm glad Rusev was protected, jobbing him out in a tag match would have been a new level of stupidity for WWE.
Why does Cena have the power to bring The Authority back?

Booking a cowardly Giant will never sit right with me I'm afraid.

Rusev was so awkward in this segment last night. It kinda made me love him even more.

This could be straight out of 1987! :D

- Dolph Ziggler tweeted the following about Team Cena's win at Survivor Series:

"big shoutout to team cena, we were all in it together at Survivor Series & I was glad I could help. Guess I won't be looking for a job at chipotle, yet. Also, to everyone who was team ziggler for these past 6 years of ups and downs, damn that was an awesome night! Oh and sting showed up to help, haha STING! 1st time ever in a WWE ring... ARE YOU SERIOUS BRO? I don't get a lot of sleep but I certainly go through a lot of ice, and it's worth it every damn night. No excuses, it's time to capitalize on this opportunity & we will, WWE UNIVERSE! This is just the beginning It's too bad... I'm too good! Now let's get #RAW"

If Ziggler is back in the title Hunt then maybe this feud with Luke Harper will be a low impact version of what was planned with the HBK/Vader feud. He's already lost it and now they can build it up well and when Dolph wins it back it'll be that much sweeter.

I put your two posts together, you are thinking too small Sweetre.

So Sting left after dropping Triple H and Dolph was left as the final shot?

Dolph made the winning pin then Cena came out to congratulate him on the ramp. People didn't like that part, but it was the right thing to do. Better than Cena actually getting involved in the match after getting eliminated. Stephanie going psycho in the ring with Hunter trying to calm her down was the closing shot.

Yeah they were trying to get either Rock or Stone Cold . Luckily this could be the perfect opportunity to have Sting step in. The only downside is motivation. Sting has no motive.

Sting was fighting for justice long before The Shield. It could be explained Sting had been watching Helmsley for quite some time and was fully aware of his shenanigans.

I will get back on later and post full thoughts on the ppv (which I seem to have enjoyed more than most people here, with some moments being big exceptions that I truly hated), but here's my main thought (other than marking out and getting goosebumps when Sting came out)...

I LOVED that Ziggler was the sole survivor. Not only that, but if you take away HHH and the stooges interfering, he basically beat three opponents "clean" (although he did pull Harper's pants) while relying solely on the "Weekend at Bernie's" offense.

I'm trying to think of a way of start giving Ziggler significant moments without getting in the way of Operation: Overpush with Reigns. Ziggler at most deserves a shot at the main event but at the very least deserves a high profile IC title reign.

It would be a damn shame if last night doesn't lead to some big things for Ziggler. He got the biggest rub of his career last night.

What did they do with Roidsack?

Ryback was the first one eliminated on Team Cena. After a few weeks of trying to re-build him as a major player, in my opinion he looked kind of weak. Although, he got pinned by Rusev after a curbstomp from Rollins, so that was awesome. A former Shield member punks Ryback yet again...loved it! Rollins looked really strong in this match.

Why does Cena have the power to bring The Authority back?

Vince informed The Authority at the beginning of the show that if they lost, they would be removed from power with Cena being the only person who could reinstate them.

Agreed...he was booked even stronger last night than he was when he cashed in his MITB briefcase on Del Rio.

A fan was nice enough to fix it. :woot:

For any other wrestler, this would be a perfectly staged heel turn, but we all know that won't happen.

I see, still haven't seen anything of Steph from last night,m I need to rectify that. :D

Reigns comes back and wins the Rumble instead of Dolph and he gets Batista'd IMO. I think other than Dolph after last night, the only choice to face Brock at Mania is Orton unless they intend Reigns first title win to be a disaster.

Personally I'd have Dolph vs Rollins for the briefcase in a TLC match at the next PPV and I'd have Reigns return and help Seth win, becoming Diesel to his Shawn and setting up Reigns vs Cena for Mania.

What did they do with Roidsack?
He was built up as a big deal the last two weeks and was the first to be eliminated from Team Cena, so it turns into a "what was the point" kind of thing.

I'm glad Rusev was protected, jobbing him out in a tag match would have been a new level of stupidity for WWE.
Yeah, definitely a good thing and not a ruined moment.

Why does Cena have the power to bring The Authority back?
Because...wrestling. They wasted the first fifteen minutes of the show with Vince bringing out HHH/Steph and Cena. Went over the stipulations and then added that the only way the Authority will return is if Cena agrees to it.

Dolph made the winning pin then Cena came out to congratulate him on the ramp. People didn't like that part, but it was the right thing to do.

I wonder if they'll have Sting not talk for a while. Add mystery to it while Haitch goes crazy.

Trying not to get my hopes up about it, but it will be great if something happens.

Ah I see, well anything that involves depushing him works for me, the fact it was at the hands(foot) of Rollins is icing on the cake. :halo:

Vince informed The Authority at the beginning of the show that if they lost, they would be removed from power with Cena being the only person who could reinstate them.

That is utterly stupid, not surprising, but utterly stupid. We all know Cena will be worried about how Triple H and Steph can feed their kids without their jobs and reinstate them to power, thus defeating the whole point of defeating The Authority to begin with.

Maybe they just built him up to feed him to Rollins.

Yeah, definitely a good thing and not a ruined moment.

Did Rusev get DQ'd or counted out?

That is such awful wriitng, there is zero reason Cena should ever agree to them coming back, it's like they want his character to be a jabroni that gets hated by fans for being such a johnny Sue.

People didn't like that? I thought that was a good moment.

Haters complaining he was stealing Ziggler's thunder. I'll defend Cena on this one because he didn't.

Ziggler got him counted out.

They have no one on the roster.

Count out. I thought he was going to be DQ'ed, but it still worked.

Rollins vs. Cena: MitB Contract vs. Power of Authority...book it! :o

Haters complaining he was stealing Ziggler's thunder. I'll defend Cena on this one because he didn't.
Agreed. If he acted like what Tyson Kidd did, that's stealing someone's thunder. This, however, was not.

All live reports we've received indicate that the reaction to Sting last night was far crazier in St. Louis then it came across live on PPV.

Randy Orton was backstage and dressed to go last night. Originally, he was to return during the main event.

For those of you wondering if Sting will appear on Monday Night Raw tonight, I am told the plan was for him to only appear on the PPV this week. We have heard from one reader who said he saw Sting at the airport in St. Louis this AM as the reader was heading for his own flight back to California, so it does not appear WWE made a last second change to plans. It is possible they pre-taped a segment, but if they have, we haven't heard about it as of this writing.

Obviously everyone is asking if Sting is going to wrestle Triple H. As I noted in the Elite section over the weekend, the expectation is that Sting will wrestle Undertaker at Wrestlemania 31 (and on Friday, when I first heard Sting would be at Survivor Series, I was told this was all part of a plan for that match at Mania), but there is also that little show called The Royal Rumble coming up in January in Philadelphia, so we shall see. From a timing standpoint, that would make the most sense and would give fans unfamiliar with Sting a chance to see him in the ring before he potentially faces off with Undertaker. After last night's moment, WWE would be crazy to pass up Sting vs. Hunter in my opinion.

As I wrote yesterday in the Elite section, WWE flew Sting to Kansas City Sunday AM to avoid fans seeing him and then kept him under wraps for as long as possible backstage. At one point, there were plans for him to simply do a cameo earlier in the PPV after his Titantron video played but the creative changed and he was used in the main event. One person I spoke to believed they switched him with Randy Orton for the main to "mess with the Internet" since there was so much talk about Sting the last 48 hours.

I am told the decision to bring in Sting wasn't made until this past Thursday.

Sting was brought in last night for several reasons. One, the company wanted a big surprise to show "anything can happen" on the WWE Network as a way to entice fans to remain subscribers if they were using the free month. Two, now that the next-generation console version of WWE 2K15 were out, it was smart synergy to have Sting at the show to help promote the game, since a big part of it's marketing is built around Sting. Three, all sides knew that with Sting hitting the 30th anniversary of his career (and being 55), it was now or never if they were going to ever do anything. This is going to be Sting's last run, so if you are a fan of his, enjoy it, because this will be it.

I knew that heavy handed hint of Orton being there meant he was there.

I am really hoping that Miz and Mizdow stick together long enough for Miz to get eliminated from the Royal Rumble, which would then prompt Mizdow to eliminate himself in a glorious manner.

What they should do is keep playing crow vignettes every RAW Sting isn't on till RR.

Ziggler was the ****ing man last night. Anybody saying otherwise needs to layoff the PCP.
