The problem with that is you have to come to that conclusion yourself (and the veiwer having to stop and fill in a glaring gap in an action sequence isnt a good thing) and it still doesn't really work as anything that might obscure his approach is too far behind (unless he sprinted right up to the head just as it hit the ground then suddenly slowed to a casual stroll). So for me it does look a bit too silly, even with a custom explanation.
I also agree with Logans 'flight' looking too slow & straight: to go that straight he'd have to going a lot faster, but as is it does look exactly like what it is, rather average wirework.
I don't see either of these problems as being huge deals that will ruin the movie mind you, just annoyances you'd expect (or at least hope) they would avoid.
