Wonder Woman Script

Yes! Let me help with the writing please. I think I understand this character more than a lot of people do. I may not not every single thing about every single god, but I definitely know enough and I understand what this character is about. She's kind of a huge part of my every day life.

I got some questions. About the costume, does it go into detail about it? Is it the typical undies uniform, or is it pants, a skirt etc?

That's exactly right, which is stupid, but people DO feel silly including stuff like that. A lot of people are worried it'll seem a little Clash of the Titans-y, which is also stupid sadly.

And well said about the grain of salt.:yay:

Lets be honest, comics are pretty silly for the most part, that's why most people don't take them seriously.

If what you're saying is true, there's no need at all to have Amazons connected to Kryptonians, there are better ways to do it. The new 52 Wonder Woman by Brian Azzarello is pretty decent and could work if adapted properly, just change what would not work in live action, like the suit for example, Diana should look like a warrior, not a sexy model, etc.

Not particularly. Just that the sort of skimpiness of it was meant to make her "sexy" and she turns it down, then sort of begins wearing it to spite those who expect her to be a picture-perfect sexy icon.

Well said, unfortunately based off of other screenplay works I've read by comic book writers and illustrators, they are atrocious at screenwriting. Once again, you all should get out there and write one! Hell I'd be happy to read one if I thought it was good.

No surprise there.

Alright I got a question about the writer instead of the script. It sounds like this script was written on spec. And since you said it's making its way around the agencies, I'm guessing its an unrepresented writer. Am I right?

Yup. That's why you need a good screen writer with a consultant by their side who understands WW. I know I couldn't write a story for **** but I could help in fabricating one.

Yes and no. It's someone being considered for representation. This is one of the things they had to offer us.

I bet that's what it looked like on the surface but really I was man needing WW.

Im sure with tweaks, the story could work. And be a true, strong, feminist story.

I don't mean to get all heated. Is just.... WW is my favourite character and time and time again I see her treated like crap and just not the way she should be treated. She always has to rely on a man for something. Or another male hero. It's just.... It hurts lol. I'm passionate about this character. It's like a group of people saying what you like is dumb and just don't give it a second thought, but someone else's interests are always looked after and made more important than yours.
I'm sure this story desserves more tweaks than Joss Whedon's, don't get me wrong, right now there's a lot i don't like about this script but Whedon didn't know much of the character to begin with, he only adapted it because she a female superhero, the most famous in fact. From the info released of that script he even used an original villain because he thought Wonder Woman didn't have a very good rogues gallery.

There's stuff i don't like about this, like the rape part, and the kryptonian origin, but Wonder Woman's personality seems spot on, and the part where many recente writers usually fail. Fix the aspects i mentioned and i'm sure it can be a pretty good WW film. I'm not sure about the characters being used as villain, since i allways though Cheetah would probably work better in a sequel, but then again i didn't read the script so it probably makes sence there.

Thanks for sharing this information, i know we complain but that's because we like the character and want her film to succeed. :yay:

All fair and well I completely agree. Good or bad though, I think its important to share.

So Cheetah was a villain who was essentially defeated in the middle of what seemed like the third act. She played a much smaller villainous role than Maxwell Lord.

Really? What was Maxwell Lord's role exactly? How did he opose ww and how did he do so?

So the idea with Lord was basically that he is this sort of financial overlord who grew up with his mother, and she blamed his father's death on metahumanism, which Maxwell secretly has, consequently, Lord is on a mission to rid the world of metahumanism.

When WW comes to America, he sees her as a metahuman and attempts to deal with her quietly. When that doesn't work, he starts a public campaign against her claiming that metahuman's are evil, whilst simultaneously having Cheetah attack her(since she's metahuman as well).

What I enjoyed about all of it was that when Cheetah, whom he had a relationship with, was killed by his own very same supporters, he kind of eases up and allows for a very realistic WW victory, in which WW never has to kill anyone.

They had Maxwell Lord approaching WW about forming the justice league at the end though, which seemed excessive.

oh that is quite crappy. I assumed Whedon of all people would know this character pretty well. My mistake.

I do like how WW was like "Angelina Jolie" in the Sense that she travels the world helping nations as an ambassador and how she looks at all the violence and poverty and it just doesn't make sense to her. I don't think she should be totally unaware of her surroundings In mans world, but I think making her a little naive works and it's how she should be considering the fact she is from a secluded island. It also adds to her character. Making her a little more vulnerable and we see her grow throughout. She shouldn't know everything right off the bat.

I think the greek mithology could wor very well on the MoS world. Greek mithology should be introduced as a contrast to Mos's Krypton so you can have the 2 big sides of this word: the alien part and the mythological part. WW should start with a big introduction as the one of jor-el in krypton. The gods could actually be incredibly powerful being that came from another dimension on ancient times. They guided the principal human cultures to civilization. The Amazons, a proud and fierce race of warrior women who hated men (women were treated horribly by men in that time), led by Queen Hippolyta, battled Ares, the God of War, and his army. Hippolyta defeated Ares. Zeus prevented her from killing Ares. In compensation, the Amazons were granted the island of Themyscira, neither the word of men or of the gods, and immortality. Later, Hippolyta was granted a daughter, Princess Diana, whom she shaped from the sand of the sea shore and gave life with her own blood. Ares should be released by Circe and together be the villains of the movie. Diana at first doesntt know why to fight for Earth, the cruel place where her people suffered, but she slowly learns this world's values by Steve Trevor. In this movie WW should be like a silent guardian, maybe some footage of her in action is leaked, we see a cameo of lois lane, she is compared to superman, she is named super woman, or something like this. At the end she establishes with Trevor on earth and she only becomes THE iconic heroine that she is on JL, alongside Superman and Batman.

Two things though. While I know comic book fans prefer the origin stories, the actual interaction with regular humans tests a lot better.

Additionally, to re-iterate, trying to keep things in a "real-ish" realm, bringing deities as WELL as e.t. life is kind of counter-productive, which is why they'll leave the Gods out.

1. Im not sure i understood your argument, but i said that the story should be about Diana getting to learn and understand humans.
2. The Gods should be from another dimension so they will be a kind of aliens and this is the DC universe, thry cant just take out such a big part of it.
3. Making WW a product of kryptonian bacteria just reduces the character. She is supposed to be as iconic as superman and batman, and have a whole world of her own.
4. Sorry for my bad english, im from argentina.

My apologies, didn't mean to argue. I was just trying explain why i didn't think they would ever write a story like that.

While I agree with you, sadly I don't think a WW world will ever happen as MOS' world was built to house the entire Justice League, including a rebranding of Batman.

True, Wonder Woman has her oun mythos, this change makes her look like a Superman spin-off

Now, that's interesting, what kind of rebranding are they planing for Batman? Is he going to have a conection to Krypton too?

I honestly have no idea. Probably not considering he's not metahuman. I just know that Bale and Nolan agreed to not take part in the whole Justice League thing(probably a good idea) as their Batman kind of lives in a different universe from Snyder's MOS.

When the MOS movie was first being put into production, Armie Hammer was set to play Batman in Justice League, but now it all depends essentially on the whims of David Goyer(who is set to write the JL movie for a 2015 release).

I have a feeling that the eventual WW movie will be nothing like the one JD23 is shopping around

Certainly not shopping. Just sharing a draft I read. You are very right though, it'll be very different now that WB has decided to make the JL movie before individual character ones.

That's a bad idea, Justice League allways worked better once we already knew the characters, while The Avengers could have been done without previous solo films, The Ultimates comics are a good exemple of how they can work that way, but DC's not like that.

DC is rich in its diversity and how each character developed its oun universe and mythos before joing in Justice League, the Marvel Universe, particularly starting in the 60s, was more reliant on guest appearances.
