I will give thumbs up to Singer and Co for ending the Donner Trilogy on a good note. This movie does seem to put 1,2 and SR or 3 in one nice basket.

Now kill the kid for the sequel and lets start fresh

& they should see the Movie first before 100 % complaining. Sure its one thing to have issues but to fully decide on things like not seeing the Movie based on Pictures & the Novel which always turns out A HELL OF ALOT MORE DIFFERENT THEN THE MOVIE is silly but hey w/e floats your boat. Maybe if those that hate what they see saw the Movie first before giving this Movie such a hard time like they are now they would be able to come up with some real arguments & not based on soemthing like the Novel which will always be different in many ways then what we get in the Movie. Those simply choosing to not like it now are basically just immature & can not accept change & should give this Movie a fair chance before fully being able to judge it

You know you don't have to see the movie to say if you think superman having a kid is something you like or not.
I do not think they should have given him a kid as I am sure many who do not like the kid think the same.
While I had other concerns about his explination (again thanks Mentok) I just do not think it was a good direction to go in but will post a review once I have seen it.
And again just to show an example many people do not like that spiderman unmasked and they did not need to read the comics to determine they do not like the idea of him unmasking its similar to the kid in superman its the idea I bet most have problems with.

We all have problems with it. But most of us are willing to see the Movie first before whining & complaining about it

Not the ones here hating this Movie
BlueWolf states that he's seen the movie in his first post...

And he's not the only one who has seen it. I just made a reference on how things turn out better than other depending on how good its written and some people find that offensive and turn the discussion into a clusterf@$k. . . Cry me a big freaking river.

I dont hate the movie, I think it is going to rule and tie the donner movies together great.

I dont like the kid though, the kid is just a ploy by the WB to get little kids to like Superman and be in awe when they see someone there age pick up a piano and throw it.

Also now the kid has to be in sequels, unless he dies off in like the first 5 min of the next movie or they just use "vague history" on Superman Returns and take him out of the loop.:o

Plus if the kid is used in sequels this sets up like EVERYONE else has said Mummy Returns, Zorro Sequel, Sky High, and Spy Kids Movies.

That being said 2018 is looking like a great year to release a new superman movie how about you all? :O :supes:

I don't share all this undeserved disdain for the new addition to superman's movie mythos. It only opens up a new universe full of possibilities that could be very interesting since Superman is now a dad.

He can give his son flying lessons.
Pass on his legacy. Recieve help in battle.Tell him he's here for a reason and it's not to score touchdowns. I will personally manly handshake bryan singer if his next movie is about the death of superman and we see how his son step up to the plate and takes his father's place. I love that story.

the Movie comes out tomorrow... lol, just give the kid a chance. Dont be such sissies.

I think Singer and Co actually get there rocks off by making fun and not honoring the mythology of comics, they like to see us all pissed off.

Sadly rottentomatoes.com has gone down to 69%

rotten vegetables, I do not trust; their statistical methods seem suspect. grr.

Kevin Smith? Is that you??

I have to respectfully and heartily disagree with you Weyseed. Two reasons:

1) Yes Mythos can be altered with time. But one thing about Superman that CANNOT change outside of Elseworlds is that Superman is Kal-El/ Clark Kent, the last son of Krypton, sent from his doomed planet...raised by good folk in Smallville...reporter...etc.

Superman IS NOT Jason Lane, "the love child of the last son of Krypton and a human woman raised in Metropolis...etc." Superman=Clark Kent. Period.

2) What you are hoping for is SkyHigh with Superman...you want a Disney-fied version of Superman that would end up like Zorro 2 and the Mummy 2, with the kid serving as a lame polt point that drags the movie down. If you want a side-kick stick to Batman.

Sorry if that seemed rough, but you are advocating my, and many others' greatest fears right there...a kid could end up ok, but what you want...many of us jsut couldn't live with it. :(

No worries. Superman will be back just like in the comic.

Superman Returns
The Death of Superman
Superman Ressurected?

Ok.....it is a movie....you can't live with Superman having a kid in a movie? Am I the only one who sees something wrong with that statement?

I didn't say having a kid was the problem, the problem would be the kid being a Super-lad side-kick or taking over as Superman for dear ole dad (that;s the scenarios that I, Bad Superman, charl_huntress, and others who have broached the subject would dispise.)

Umm perhaps you missed it but this reviewer has seen the movie.

You should just give up on trying to veil your insults you are pretty poor at it and your spite shines right through.

And as much as you are sick of the we hate the kid whinning and complaining we are just as sick of the we like the kid people whinning and complaining.
Must be perspective since I do not see people with concerns as whinning complaining yet all I see from the pro crowd is whinning and complaining....

A star wars reference works well here from revenge of the sith when Anikin says from his perspective the jedi are evil....

if this movie is better then Superman III or IV.... ill LIVE WITH IT !!!!

Why worry about it at this point..I think that would be something to worry about at Sequel time....I highly dought that will happen...
Jason's powers may not develope like Superman's

fair enough, and I acknowledge that...I was just responding to Weyseed's hope that it DOES turn out that way.

i will say im a little disappointed if they went that route,.... then im calling for a NEW DIRECTER, and CAST W/O Jon Peters!!!!

I believe this is the plot of Jon Peters to destroy this Franchise :(

What? Jason being Superman's son?
No that was Singer and his co writer's idea.....they wanted Superman to have something besides Kryptonite to be an obstacle for him.
