New Day deserves it. They turned one of the most s***ty gimmicks of all-time into the most over tag team of the last decade. Their mechandise generates insane revenye for the company. Their promos/segments are never weighed down by a horrible script.

They didn't need it, but they got it.

Jack Gallagher is too classy for the WWE.

Cesaro going beast mode on everyone was awesome.
I just read the full Vice article, which is excellent. Basically the WWE is ****ed with aging egomaniac Vince McMahon micromanaging and firing everyone at will. Shane and Stephanie also hate each other and HHH kinda sucks at hiring wrestlers.
Considering the ridiculously high senior staff turnover the WWE has you know Vince is probably a nightmare to work for.
The Wrestling Thread is the big, thick, meaty third leg

New Day always got to sneak a penis joke in a promo somewhere.

Deonna Purrazzo at the New Day celebration. Would of been hilarious if Asuka appeared and destroyed her again.

Big E gave a good shoot interview about how CM Punk saved his career. Big E was going to be sent back down to developmental after his bodyguard run got Ziggler and AJ ended. Punk talked Vince into letting him wrestle Big E on Raw and Smackdown. Big E got a face turn and Punk gave him some positive advise. Big E said he will never have a bad word to say about Punk because of that.

-So New Day broke the record, can they drop the belts now? Because their act can survive with them, whereas both Sheamus/Cesaro (it's the natural payoff to their storyline) and Anderson/Gallows (who barely have a pulse creatively if they aren't in the title hunt) could use them far more.

-But, the matches themselves were good.

-This "Emmalina" stuff is getting really old. And there has to be a swerve coming. To drag out her debut for this long, just to play the "swimsuit model" gimmick straight, that makes no sense.

-They've got nothing interesting for Bayley to do creatively either it would seem. She's just treading water.

-Teasing us with a Sami trade to SD, and then not delivering. For shame Mick, for shame. And Sami's reaction didn't even make sense either.

-The CW match was good, but the crowd does them no favors.

Overall, a "meh" show.

Talk about sour grapes.

Many people in this thread b*tched when Nikki broke AJ's record so I don't want to hear it!

Do they really deserve it?

Nope. The fact they didn't even defend their tag titles against the League Of Nations and The Wyatt Family on PPV (they lost both matches clean) proves how much of a farce / joke this "accomplishment" is.

There's a large difference between Nikki Bella, who hasn't had a classic match...well, ever and the New Day who for awhile there carried the WWE as the most entertaining act on the roster.

Not only that, has there ever been a group of superstars who've taken a sorrier gimmick and made it so popular they had their own cereal?

New Day earned this. While I'm sure they'll drop the titles soon, you can't understate how important they've been to Raw.

You could argue they are this generation's DX.

A direct comparison to DX is a bit of a stretch; DX was designed to be main event, and it fulfilled that potential, and then some.

A better analogy, related though it is, was the New Age Outlaws. They didn't know what the hell to do with Billy Gunn or Jesse James, so they just stuck them together as a joke. They caught on, became their own catch phrases, and really became the marketing hook for DX when Shawn Michaels left the business.

It wasn't meant to be a direct comp, but I can see the New Age Outlaws as well.

If the WWE was smart, when New Day drops the tag titles, they'd get the US or Universal title on Big E. Maybe even put the Cruiserweight title on Xavier Woods (could help people actually care about that division).

By your logic, Santino Marella should've been world champion.

Must be nice making history only because your boss has beef with former employees.

Your bias is showing if you're comparing what the New Day has done to Santino Marella.

Nigel McGunness offered a spot as a coach at the Performance Center.

I will so mark out if there's a photo featuring many of the 2005-2007 ROH roster gathered together during Royal Rumble or WM 33 weekend since so many of them are employed by WWE:

- Daniel Bryan
- Cesaro
- Kevin Owens
- Sami Zayn
- AJ Styles
- Samoa Joe
- Austin Aires
- Roderick Strong
- Hideo Itami
- Jimmy Jacobs
- Sara Amato
- Adam Pearce

And now they may bring back Chris Hero and may hire McGuinness and Corino.

There needs to be a photo of all of them together now that all of them are (or will be) employed by WWE.

It's ironic that WWE resisted hiring indy talent for a while in part because they didn't like their working style, and now they're being hired to train the company's next generation of wrestlers.

Let's Not Spend Too Much Time Shining Each Other's Wrestling Threads.

The producer needs to be shot. We could have had several gratuitous cheek shots of Nikki Bella. But all we got was Nattie's plether covered derriere as she tried kicking out.

It's like their not even trying.

if you don't change the way you do business every so often

you will die

philosophies change, and I think it began when the PC was established

you can bring guys in and introduce them to how it works in the WWE

definitely allows for a more eclectic talent selection

Baw Gawd! Heath Slater has been eliminated! That man has kids!
