If it was, Hogan vs. Andre would go down as one of the worst matches of all time. Instead it's revered because of the story around it. Hell, many of Hogan's great matches in the WWE were mediocre at best in terms of what goes on in the ring, but there's a reason those matches are looked back at fondly today: the stories around it.

The problem comparing today's wrestling to 80s wrestling is

1. It used to be we had like 4 PPVs every year and they took 3 months(if not more) to build up those stories. Now with the monthly PPV schedule we basically have 4 weeks to build up matches

2. I know people hate jobber matches but when we see guys winning on TV 100% of the time for 6 months facing another guy who wins for 6 months straight on TV 100% of the time, the story sells itself, somebody has to lose. Now with no jobbers we basically watch guys who we see winning 60% of the time vs another guy who wins 60% of the time, guess what if somebody loses it won't make much difference because chances are they will go on to win 60% of their matches.

PPVs back then had a much bigger feeling because you felt you were seeing something special, not just an slightly more important version of RAW(at least match wise)

Just my 2 cents about woman's wrestling. I don't get the WWe's logic getting a bunch of very attractive woman in the organization. When every female is a 9 or a 10 it sort of ruins any chance they have getting over as "the hot one".

It's all marketing unfortunately. That's why you see so many models and eye candy being hired. Superficial sells.

If I was booking woman's wrestling I would have a bunch of Plain Janes and larger Females(both girth and muscular wise) who were hired for their wrestling skill(both in the ring and/or mic) then hire 1 or 2 that were a 9 or 10 on the looks scale. In that case you instantly create stars that fans will get behind

I agree we need more people like Nia Jax (who's pretty in her own right) and less of the supermodel types. Add some diversity to the pool. Another female bodybuilder like Chyna would be great too so she could destroy the Women's Division like what Asuka did.

I find it a problem with both male and female wrestlers as a whole, but with the woman it's way worse. It seems to often they go for the same cookie cutter generic look that nothing stands out.

I won't lie I don't follow wrestling that much more, but I can almost bet that if Nia Jax has any lick of wrestling skill she will instantly become a fan favorite(even if they try pushing her as a heel) because she stands out from the rest of the cookie cutter crew.

Or, just find women who make cool characters regardless of their looks. It should be talent first. If they happen to be a "9 or 10" that's great. But, I can't stand it when the women are strictly eye candy.

For the record... Asuka is a f***ing 10!

If the WWE was to go through Hell again like they did in the summer of 2007, would John Cena leave the WWE for good?

That's exactly why they had to split up the original Wyatt Family.

Anyone thinks Hogan will be back in the WWE by Mania 33? I do somehow.

If it truly was end of the line, why would you need a roadblock?

When I think of the subtitle "end of the line" I think of the fight between Cap and Bucky in Winter Soldier in which Bucky is close to finishing Cap off and Cap says "I'm with you to the end of the line."

Unpopular opinion: I'm rooting for Reigns to win tonight. Owens has been a complete and total failure as champion thanks to awful booking.

Also, when I think of Roadblock I think:

WWE Roadblock: End of the Line.

It should have been: WWE Roadblock: Yo! Joe!

Dude, that is literally the least popular opinion you've ever voiced on this website. :o

Reigns winning the title tonight would be Horrible Booking.

Hi Broseph. :highfive:

Really hoping for a Cesaro/Sheamus win here.
