Sequels X-Men 3 Spin offs news

Emma should not get her own movie. That is simply asinine. How can they have a "spinoff" of a character that wasn't in any of the original story?

I don't like the idea of a X-kids movie either. I know that an X4 would pretty much be a X-kids movie, but I don't think the focus should be on the young character. They should show how the once young characters have grown up. The characters like Rogue, Iceman, Colossus, Shadowcat etc. should no longer be thought of as students. They should be X-Men. I don't want the writers bringing in new characters and having them all be younger than their comic book counterpart just so they would fit in with the rest of the characters. For example, Gambit should not be an "X-Kid". His character would not work as a teenager. He needs to be at least in his early 20s. That is the youngest I want him. Any younger would make him seem less experienced and more of a juvenile punk who thinks he is "all that."

here's a link to where I found out about the Rogue: and Iceman, Gambit, Jubilee, Colossus, Kitty movie...

I guess we'd need to see the April issue of Wizard magazine to be absolutely sure about it.... we already know that they are planning an X-Kids film, so this could possibly be it.

Is this what you're talking about? (scroll down through the link)

This 'Rogue' thing is news to me...I wonder if there's further proof of this. So this from the April edition from Wizard? Has anyone got a copy of it?

Emma's become one of my favorites...I dunno if she'll be able to carry a movie on her name, but I'd like to see it happen. Looks like all the casting speculations can begin again...I have high hopes for the actress...she's gotta be a dime. Problem is there aren't that many great actresses with Playboy bodies.

Yeah, the problem is whether she can carry a movie entirely on her own or not. She isn't like Wolverine, who is able to do just that. Even if she is a strong character, she needs others to really be Emma Frost. Who can she manipulate if she's the only lead? Who can she be a snappy psycho ***** to if she's the only lead? Granted, if they use her Emma Frost spinnoff comic as a base they can quite naturally make her the sole focus of the movie, making the movie about her growing up. But even then that's a bit shallow. The audiences would be asking "wait, who is this Emma and why do I need to see a movie about her?" So her childhood couldn't take up the whole movie. And if it can't do that, where to next? Hellfire Club? Maybe skip straight to her and X-Men? Either way, it has to be done really well and with great care to make it work.

That is, if they're even making it.

They should've established her character in the very first X-Men movie and maybe then they could pull it off. Now it's a bit too big of a slippery slope to go along with.

I'd rather watch a Leech spin off than an Emma one. She's a biatch character used to create forced friciton and generate one liners. There's not much of a movie around that. :/

I'm sure Storm would have a role in an X-Kids movie, even if she's just a teacher. Halle will be the only high-dollar cast member and she would add some legitimacy to the movie. Logan might even pop in for a quick second, but he's got his own movie, so it's not like we're being deprived of Wolverine.

I disagree. I think if the Wolverine and Storm characters make an appearance, it's going to have to be big appearances with a lot of screen time to justify the amount they'd be spending on the actors. I seriously doubt Halle Berry would agree to do an X4 if all she does is appear in some classroom scenes while the younger students take center stage.

i think an x-factor...with val cooper and the havok-wolfsbane-multiple man-polaris-strong guy-quiksilver type storyline would be cool, though not neccessarily with those characters.

If they included ANY other character from the X-Men movies in a support capacity, or deal with similar "people hate mutants" themes, it would automatically be a spinoff. So that's how.

I must the only person on the whole board who likes this idea. Emma rules and deserves to be in the sun for a while. How about a Cyke & Emma movie? He died off-screen, after all.

I'm with you, totally, but I'm afraid it might come off as a bloody cardinal cockup of international proportions. :\

They need to be very thorough with the movie if they want it to be a success, or even your everyday average fun movie. :O

Emma with a bunch of relatively unknown x-kids? Done already with Banshee in the generation X movie. Let's never mention it again.

Emma growing up and wanting to be more than she is, while working her way to the top along with snarky comments, cat fights, porn-esque costumes and stripping to get there only to find she has a heart of gold? Done already. It was called Showgirls. :p

Joking aside, she doesn't warrrant a whole movie.:down

The Wolvie spin-off is the only one I can see carrying itself. This is overkill.

Didn't someone say that it was posted in a magazine that came out in April, or am I mistaking that for something else?

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. When I said Storm may be in it just as a teacher, I didn't mean that she would just be in a couple of classroom scenes. I just meant that there probably wouldn't be as many action scenes for her as in X3, but she would have a large and very important role, much like the Professor in the first 3 films (who didn't have any action-type scenes, really). Notice I said she would add some legitimacy to the film. I don't think you do that with 2 watered-down scenes. Storm would most likely have a big part (we all know Berry isn't accepting a low-budget Storm role).

As for Wolverine, with Jackman making a whole Wolverine movie, I doubt he would have a huge part in an X-Kids film, but I'm sure he would strap on the claws and show up in a scene and not ask Fox for an insane amount of money. I'm sure he'll he paid quite handsomely for the Wolverine flick. The man does musical theater (which don't exactly pay X-Men-type money). I bet he'd do a scene in the film for a couple bucks and a sandwich.

Arad just said "Wolverin is Obviously our number 1 X-Man" as justification for yet another Wolverine centric spinoff. Spoken like a true non X-reader. Wolverine is a great character don't get me wrong, but it is that kind of bullsh** logic that leads to both his overexposure in the comics and his leading role at the expense of other great X-stories in all three x-movies. People DON'T read X-Men for Wolverine, they read it because of the X-MEN, ya know THE TEAM. Make X4, and for christ sake make it about someone who is not WOLVERINE.

Young X-Men would be a de facto X-Men 4 - an X4 that Fox can bring in at a substantially reduced cost. It's a film I'd really like to see if done right: Bring back Rogue, Iceman, Kitty Pryde, Collosus, and Angel. Introduce Gambit. Bring in Emma Frost as the new headmistress of the Xavier School. Have Beast in the mix as a mentor to the kids. Yeah, it could definitely work. :xmen:

The same goes for a Wolverine spinoff. It should be a stylish, hard-edged action film. I'd be there with bells on. :wolverine

While I'd prefer Emma Frost to be introduced in the Young X-Men film, a solo outing could work if it was some rendition of a Hellfire Club storyline.

I'll see the Magneto film if it gets made, but it doesn't interest me that much. Magneto was a great villain for the X trilogy, but I've seen enough of him at this point.

Last I heard, the Magneto spinoff was going to be the story of him growing into the man we know today. Now THAT intrigues me. Could make a great drama. Not exactly a typical Hollywood piece, though... so I'm sure they'll screw it up.

Of the spinoffs, the Magneto movie intorests me the most. If done right, it could bring more depth to all the X-Men movies. Showing how it all began. Going even deeper into the character that is Magneto. He is a villain that people can actually relate to. I love it.

So.. Wolverine pleases the action-orientate audience and showcases this much loved character.

Magneto possibly explores issues of tolerance and self-destruction, and showcases the history of this character and his world.

X-Kids continues on into the future and is an oppurtunity to introduce fan-favourites not yet showcased, (and, as stated, would likely be internal and not global)

Emma Frost? Hmm... Sex Sells? Hellfire? Perhaps Fox thinks a strong heroine is important to the franchise (see Storm and Mystique unrealized spinoffs) Perhaps the pitch is based on the 'Emma Frost' comic series, where, in a very mature realm, Emma learns to deal with her telepathic powers and the moral dilemma's they present, as well as slowly learning about the morally 'grey' worls she lives in.
But if this is the case ... um, where is the direct connection to X-Men movies, and really, would people watch this? (I would, but would 'people'?)

You know what just hit me? We're idiots.

They can't use Angel in a movie about the X-students. He's too old. His scene at the beginning of X3 took place 10 years ago. That places him in his early 20s by the end of the movie. The actor is roughly the same age as the rest actors who play teenagers, but the character is older.

I think they should make a Buffy style hour long TV series using the X-kids. It would be Buffy styled in the amount of effects used, and be taken from the X-films world in style and how serious the series would be. it could fallow the X-kids and mutants day to day and show storylines that they couldn't put in the films like Sinister, Apocalypse, Legacy Virus, Genosha, Protius, the love story between Colossus and Kitty Pride, and so on. Maybe Kesly Grammer would even make a few guest apearences as Beast.
It could use Ice Man, Rogue, Kitty Pride, Colossus, Gambit, Emma Frost, Banshee, and many many other mutant kids from the pages of X-Men.

Then I also want a Wolverine movie, it would be really cool.
