Never in a million years would i have thought that Deadpool would do so well.In my country it's now the highest grossing X-Men related movie with $4,437,789 in revenue! DOFP is second ($3,522,349) and X-Men Origins:Wolverine third ($2,616,177).

Deadpool destroyed pretty much everything. It's creeping up on GOTG's domestic number without 3D and being released in less theaters. Which makes it only behind Raimi's Spider-Man as far as superhero origins.

This is obviously huge for Fox, Deadpool right now beats X3's adjusted numbers making him not only the most popular Marvel IP they own but by far the most profitable.

Not sure why people are even debating if that will help the X-Men franchise. Of course it will. The X-Men are co-stars in Deadpool and even the most unaware audience member will know it's in the same world of characters. While him being in an X-Men movie will clearly give the most boost, Deadpool helps give the X-Men films more credibility and a peak in interest from a larger audience.

True, it's a definite game changer.

This is proof that if FOX finally gets Fantastic Four right it should be just as-if not much more-profitable. All the ingredients are there really.

Price inflation and lack of competition are also factors.

Thats amazing!
Because there is only one shade of green.:whatever: That colour isn't grey.

Sometimes these boards...

Chill.

Deadpool even taking inflation into account is the highest grossing X-Men film at least domestically.

Also since Deadpool didn't have a 3D release it really is comparing on equal footing.

I'm sure even worldwide it's probably the highest grossing with inflation as the first X-Men trilogy didn't do amazing overseas.

That ship has sailed.

They could possibly attempt to reboot F4 again in an X-Men movie but its possible FOX wouldn't be allowed to do that because of their deal with marvel

Trying to stick the ff in the x-men films would be a gamble. Another bad ff attempt in a x-men film could hurt the x-men franchise which is currently on the up again.

Agree, Fox has proved that they don't know how to deal good with FF. And since Fox and Marvel get to a secret agreement from which Fox obtained the rights for two X-Men TvSeries and we still don't know what wins Marvel in this... I think Marvel is taking back FF rights and maybe a X-Men sharing rights (Like Sony's Spidey), which in my opinion would be the best.

I mean, Fox would keep making all X-Men movies (The X-Men needs a whole studio for themselves), but they could link the two universes in one with a Secret Wars. So we could see cross-overs like Black Vortex, House of M, Onsalught... And Marvel would be united again.

In fact after the agreement Marvel announced three new movies for the 2020 untittled.

So FF may appear in 4th MCU Fase... Everything is connected hehe.

Well a bad FF attempt In an X-Men movie would be more so a bad X-Men movie right?

They'd never risk the F4 in an X-Men film now, surely. Hollywood aligns itself with success and attempts to benefit from it, replicate it, mimic it. Failures are kicked to the kerb and forgotten.

It's quite astonishing how F4 and Deadpool emerged from the same studio.

I think Fox has their **** together... finally. I was thinking about buying some Murdoch shares this afternoon (went with Disney of course). They will work out a deal with Marvel to get the FF involved in the MCU. Expect them to line up three more X-Films between Deadpool/X-Force and the main ensembles, plus possible spinoffs. X-Men is now back to being the bread and butter.

Fox just needs good creative teams helming projects. Deadpool was all Reynolds and his crew without pretty much any studio interference. That's the first time Fox hired someone who came in as a huge fan as far as X-Men goes, and it showed. The studio heads at Fox are not like Marvel in the sense that they know the comic history or why a character has worked well. Didn't come as a prerequisite for their job. They need to lend their trust to filmmakers who understand the characters.

As for F4, it's a completely different scenario then Deadpool. F4 has 3 poorly received films in the past 10 years and that's it. That put it in the ground, and there will be no good buzz coming from another F4 film being put into production.

They have plenty to work with now as far as X-Men with Deadpool, X-Force, New Mutants and Gambit. And there's plenty more then that. The Fantastic Four just don't belong with these guys or need to be with them by any means. The sooner Fox realizes that the better.

I wasn't referring domestically.

Not really. Unless you think a studio only releases bad movies or good movies.

Even before Fant4stic and Deadpool, Fox already released bad/good superhero movies.

^^Needless to say, they would be too limited by budget to make it work.
That ship has sailed.

It seems so and i certainly hope so. To me Fox giving up FF makes more sense than Sony giving up Spidey.

A movie franchise about an oddball family of superheros set on earth and in space. Featuring some of Marvel's best and most iconic villains? There is enough there to appeal to a wider demographic than X-Men, Deadpool, Wolverine etc.

Past efforts IMO disqualify FOX from retaining creative control over FF. But if they aren't willing to play ball with Marvel then i could see them making yet another attempt in a couple years time.Their record recently with other scifi movies prove they could get it right one day.:woot:

I imagine giving up F4 is a pretty big decision since what's they give it back they won't be getting it back and marvel at some point will use F4 to great success

^^Yup, it's a huge decision. They've already lost Daredevil and Elektra.

What are the odds Deadpool appears in an X-Men team film at some point?

If they have a film set in the present, then highly likely we will see Deadpool with the X-Men, not just Colossus/Teenage Warhead.

I wish Deadpool had more budget so there would be more X-Men in that film, at least a cameo when Deadpool went to the mansion to pick up Colossus/Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

The deadpool guys pretty much said there were restrictions to who they could use anyway.

they said they were handed a list of who they were allowed to use and probably shouldnt expect a proper cross over anytime soon.
