Days of Future Past X-men First Class Sequels?

What should come next?

  • Nothing, it should lead into X1

  • Continue with McAvoy finding Jean, Scott etc

  • Continue but with the cast of characters they have now

  • It shouldn't continue at all, I won't like it >:(

I want these First Class movies to be a trilogy so after the 3rd movie, they can finally release the long-awaited X-Men 4 movie!

X-Men 4 is never gonna happen, especially with any of the cast from the first trilogy.(Other than Jackman)

I think Patrick Stewart, James Marsden, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Famke Jannsen, Rebecca Romijn, Ian McKellen and Daniel Cudmore would comeback if FOX asked them.

But I don't want to see Patrick, Rebecca, Famke and Ian for X4 because I want half of the cast to be new and fresh.

That's cutting some of the strongest players in the cast.

Sadly, the original timeline is dead. First Class sequels will continue while they're successful, and I expect they'll eventually supercede the old films, discarding the timeline completely.

My biggest grievence? Kelsey Grammar not appearing in a good film.

I don't think the original timeline is dead. Look at MIB and Die Hard, it took them a long time to do another sequel.

The original timeline Isn't dead. There are plenty of connections to Singer's films In First Class.Matthew Vaughn has talked about doing a flashforward sequenze with
Patrick Stewert and Ian Mckellan. The Wolverine Is moving forward and another Wolverine solo film Is reportly a possibilty.

should we be crossing our fingers for X4?No.I think It Is longshot to actully happen.Just like the deadpool film Is turning Into a longshot to actully being made.

With talk of New Mutants that could be future of franchise after first Class trilogy If first Class prequel films remain a trilogy.

Bit of a contradiction there. A series is pretty dead if your best hope is a potential, likely brief flashforward scene in another series.

MIB and Die Hard haven't been superceded by spin-offs and prequels.

X-Men first Class Is prequel to X-Men and X2.It is part of exsisting series. Therefore the
timeline Isn't dead.If It was they wouldn't be doing the Wolverine. They would be adding
Wolverine to first Class sequel.

Casino royale ended bond timeline.X-Men first Class Is part of singer's films timeline.

I dont see X4 happening. They will have to call it something different and not be a direct continuation of either X2 or X3 if they want the original team. Besides Iceman, Angel, Beast, Wolverine and Storm everyone is kinda screwed last we saw them. I know its been mentioned they can drop X3 but I cant see the studio calling the film X4 then ditching X3 all together. Alot of people actually enjoy X3.

There won't be direct X4.If they were to try to reunite cast members from earlier films
It would be set several years after X2 with Bryan SInger directing and be called X-Men
something. And even that Is only a very small chance of happening. The Last Stand hurt the franchise In long run It wasn't just Wolverine that hurt the franchise. The Last Stand was hge sucess since It was followup to X2.And for some In general audence who don't know much about X-Men It was style over substance.

As long as it wouldnt rely on the X2 ending Id be cool with it. Having Jean Grey comeback would confuse the **** out of people. It would have to ignore all that.

If they didnt kill Cyclops and cure characters in X3 I dont think it would be that bad of an outcome for fans and the franchise.

Jean Grey defently won't be In another X-Men film Inless we see teenage version In final part of first Class trilogy.A singer directed pst X2 film would largely focus on lineup at end of X2 with Colossus as member and possably Introducing Gambit. This would be best bet to bring back Cyclops, and can have Xavier back without out having to deal with the mind In twin body.Singer and Donner want to do Days of future past.As long as Sentinles
aren't used In prequels there Is still a slim chance of a post X2 film version of days of Future past.I am not holding my breath on It but there Is still a small chance of It happening.

Interesting stuff. I wonder how they would include Xavier and Cyclops, as the general audience thinks both are dead. Will they explain how they survived?

Colossus would be great, especially as the Singer version was better visually than the Last Stand version.

I wonder if they would get Nightcrawler back or maybe we are done with teleporters now, with Azazel in the First Class franchise.

Days of Future Past is certainly the best chance we have of seeing the original cast. Donner loves that story, and it would be hard to do in prequels.

It's also an easy way of picking and choosing cast members. I would be bummed if characters like Cyclops and Rogue didn't return though. Two characters that could really be explored further and both were pretty well ended by TLS.

I personally hate Days of Future Past and hope it never comes to the silver screen.

I think the most likely X-Men film to come after the First Class series is Days of Future Past, in some incarnation. Like another poster said, Donner's been wanting to do that story for a while. I remember back in the X2 days she was talking about it.

The problem with using the Hellfire Club again...is Shaw was pretty much the driving force behind it, and his ambitions were massive. You can go bigger...but can you really go bigger as a goal?

I don't know. Part of me wants to see them again, just so we can get some use out of a mostly wasted concept, and part of me wants to see the franchise move on.

Wasn't the Hellfire Club disbanded? Shaw died, and the other members joined the Brotherhood.

I agree! :woot:

Bryan Singer could pulla Superman returns on The Last Stand.even so the ending hinted at magneto's powers returning. The same thing could have happened to Rogue.

In addition, First Class itself has a cure storyline which hints that it's not possible to cancel out mutation and any attempt to do so might actually enhance it, as happened with Beast.

I'd like to see an X4 explain the reappearance of Xavier and Cyclops, rather than brush over it and hope no one remembers. We need a reminder that Xavier transferred his consciousness and went into hiding and an explanation of what happened to Cyclops. I'd be quite happy to see both of them return if a convincing storyline was written.

yeah, they need to adress that in an smart way.

And after that, gives us a dark, smart and epic sequel like we all deserve.

Well, Shaw was the leader of the part of the Hellfire Club we saw. That could be just one branch or faction of what is a worldwide organisation with branches all over the place.

As for going bigger, I don't think you should see that as the motivation for the club's existence. They have been thwarted but would continue to devise plans; it doesn't have to be bigger, it just has to continue. Whether that means funding the Sentinels, or seeking out the Phoenix, or stirring up anti-mutant hysteria during the Civil Rights unrest, the club would carry on having its own agenda for manipulating world events to its advantage.

Part of me wants to see them again, just so we can get some use out of a mostly wasted concept, and part of me wants to see the franchise move on.

Those are the options, I think. Develop it into something far more sinister and pervasive than Shaw, or move on and include other villains. I just like the idea of an overarching/underlying force behind the events.

With the male Angel's father Warren Worthington II being a member of the Hellfire Club (in the comics), it even gives a darker reason for his insistence on the development of a cure if he is part of some larger conspiratorial organisation. If they choose to go in that direction, of course.

These are just my personal ideas for creating some sort of intrigue behind the stories rather than having standalone tales, but they may well choose another direction. As long as it's a good story that's well told and not rushed together, I'm fine with that.

Yeah I want to see Professor X and Cyclops (especially with how they killed him in X3 :whatever:) back in the original X-Men movie series, but I'll save Professor X in X5. I want X4 to be just X-Men and no Professor X leading the X-Men.

I want the villain for X4 to X6 to be Apocalypse & His Four Horsemen. Then with X-Men: Second Class and X-Men: Third Class, I want the main villain to be Mr. Sinister.

VILLAINS WISH LIST
X-Men: Second Class
Mr. Sinister (head villain)
Marauders (at least 2-3 henchmans of Mr. Sinister)

X-Men: Third Class
Mr. Sinister (head villain)
Marauders (at least 2-3 henchmans of Mr. Sinister)
Dark Phoenix (Jean Grey of the original series, this is how Professor X first encountered the beast and he will cage the beast in the end of the movie)

X-Men 4:

Ozymandias (main villain, trying to resurrect Apocalypse)
1-3 henchmen of Ozymandias

X-Men 5: Rise of Apocalypse
Apocalypse (resurrected in the end of X4, main villain)
4 Horsemen of Apocalypse (Spiral, Omega Red, Marrow, Abyss)

X-Men 6: Age of Apocalypse
Apocalypse (main villain)
New 4 Horsemen of Apocalypse - Archangel (Angel of X3), Gambit (Gambit of XOW), Polaris (Polaris of X2C) and Wolverine.

:woot: I know this is not going to happen. But I would like to see them happen.
