Sequels X-Men: First Class

In the interview from myspace Singer made it seem he was only directing one movie before FC.

They could even have the Sentinels and that's why they had a training program of them in X-3.

I doubt we will get such a high profile gig for the early X-Men as it seems from X-Men1 and 2 that it's the Liberty island gig that puts them on the radar of the government.

I am abit confused, about the part in the interview on the fron page, where it says, Xavier and Magneto will be twenty-something...??

that doesn't really make since in any time line, for them to be that young, unless thats refering to a flashback scene showing the first time they meet or something

still... when is he shooting that? If it takes a while, then he may not be able to work on this until Fall/Winter 2010. It's still going to be 2012, since Fox usually takes a three years bewteen films. If there is a Wolverine sequel they may push this back another year.

Sentinels don't have to be government-run. They could just have Trask's father or Scott Lang make a prototype in private and have the young X-Men fight against it like the epic fight in X-Men Evolution. The X-Men vs the very first Sentinel battle was fantastic since the X-Men had such a hard time taking down one Sentinel that you wonder how mutants could ever survive with a whole army of them in play.

At the end, either Trask could die or Professor X wipes the memories of all the humans involved of the existence of mutants. Magneto sees the Sentinel as the future of mutant hunting and he can't pretend that peace is going to work anymore. It would be a perfect catalyst to Professor X and Magneto going their seperate ways.

Yes, I know. But, one film is better than 3! Haha.

Considering the film is called X-Men: First Class, it obviously has to, at some point, focus on the first class of X-Men. I think it's safe to assume the Xavier and Magneto being in their 20's thing is just part of the film. Actually, it would be cool if the narrative went back an forth in time.

Singer has signed on to direct a Battlestar Galactica movie and Excalibur but they won't be happening for a while.

Variety said Singers next movie isn't confirmed yet, but he's prepping Jack the Giant Killer so it'll either be that or First Class depending on which is ready first.

In my opinion Singer should ditch the beanstalk film, clear his slate, and just make X-Men: First Class. Then if that's a success he can made First Class 2 and 3 back to back :D

I wonder if the young cast of XO Wolverine will be out of this now.

Tim Pollock and the Emma actrees will be old for the prequel, it its being made in two/three years from now....

It Is not clear what film Bryan Singer will next be on set directing.Jack the
Giant Killer Is the one which most devolpment but It still possible X-Men
or Battlestar galactica could be next. However nothing Is know about
Galactica expect it will Involve him and Galactica Creator Glen Larson and
will be more Inline with the original Galactica.

It Is possable wolvernine 2 will be next X-Men film out In 2011 and First
class follows In 2012 or 2013.

And Xavier and Magneto will only be In their 20's for a part of the film.I
have no Idea on who the villian will be but I suspect the students will be
Cyclops.jean,Storm,Beast,Emma Frost and a couple of X-Men characters
not yet In films(My bet would be Banshee and Havok)

Well, it's Fox.. so they're gonna want it out by next Friday. :o

After reading that little statement from Singer, I really can't wait to see who he's going to have as the villian.

I just hope if they make any future X-men films that take place after The Last Stand, they will save Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister for those rather than First Class.

X-Men:
Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Emma, Storm, Banshee/Havok

Brotherhood:
Magneto, Mystique, Sabertooth, Avalanche, Toad

Villain:
Sinister

Hard not to be at least somewhat excited with news that Singer is back. Seems pretty obvious that they're taking the best parts of MAGNETO: ORIGINS and incorporating them into X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. It sounds like this will be a hybrid of the classic X-Men team and the NEW X-MEN/EVOLUTION cartoon style. Also seems pretty obvious Sinister will be the villain, because who other than Magneto can be considered a "great" villain. Maybe the Hellfire Club. I wouldn't be surprised to see Singer explore the Hellfire Club and explore the early days of Jean Grey/Phoenix which he missed when he left to make SUPERMAN RETURNS.

There's an opportunity here to tell a semi faithful story with elements we haven't seen that ties into the current franchise. And it looks like that's what they're doing, and I love that. I wrote a script way back when that is similar to this concept. Plot involved early days of mutant hysteria and an early, somewhat kneejerk Sentinel program that Magneto and the X-Men destroyed after Magneto split with Xavier and formed the Brotherhood. We'll see how it turns out, but it's exciting for sure.

Gambit should be Sinister's Deathstrike/Viktor Creed.

Actually, I just thought it may be cool if the "first class" consisted of Brotherhood members as well, and Xavier and Magneto taught side by side.

From the latest interview, Singer said that Xavier and Magneto would be their 20's, so are we even going to see the "X-Team" (Cyclops, Jean, Beast, etc.)? Is the movie more about Xavier and Magneto than our favorite team of mutants?

do you think that includes Haley Ramm, possibly returning, as young Jean, or would giving her a couple more years make her about the right?
cause, I still think she'd be a good choice

I'm not convinced Singer can do a good job...I thought the ball was dropped on the first three films in terms of how the characters were treated.

But we're in different times now. Comic book movies weren't being made when X1 came out, and no one knew if it would be a success or a failure. So they focused on the most marketable and audience pleasing character, Wolverine, instead of other lesser know characters.

Granted, they still don't know if a movie without Wolverine can be financially successful or not, but I think the X-movies have made people curious about other characters and made them want to hear their stories. I think this gives Singer more freedom.

And I always loved how he handled the Xavier/Magneto relationship, and if they're present in this movie as well, I know I won't be disappointed.

singer's latest comments are interesting......

I still think this is the perfect chance to just "reboot" the whole franchise and start fresh. You can keep it in the same "realistic" universe as the other X-films, without actually tying into them. Kind of an "alternate" or "parallel" universe.....

For example, why should we care about young Cyclops in this movie, when we know he's going to turn into a "wuss" in the later X-movies, and dies in 10 seconds in X3?

Why should we care about the love relationship between Scott and Jean, when in the later X-movies, it was practically non-existent?

Why should we care about any character development if we already know the outcome ( and it's an outcome we don't like )?

This is the perfect chance to start fresh and anew....not retread the same old same old....

Maybe First class will make us care about those things...?

I sincerely hope Singer fixes Cyclops' "Laser Vision".

From the way they described the train scene and making sure it looked like a "wave", I think Singer was very exact about getting Cyclops' power right. I'm sure he'll ignore the laser vision.

One good thing about Singer on X-Men again is that we probably won't have as many stupid continuity errors like that.

yeah....but why confine yourself to an already predetermined outcome?

that limits what you can do to develop the characters.......
