Sure if it starts out with them as 20somethings and progresses to Xavier recruiting his students that would be fine, just as long as it doesnt take up majority of the movie.

well, I say flashback, cause, for them to be in there 20s it would have to be set in like the 50's or something, and I don't think they need to, nor have the time to, progress though 30 years (of what I am sure is nothing too exciting), before they get to the stuff about the x-men

I agree. If you're going to do an origin movie, do an origin movie. I think one of the drawbacks of X-Men Origins: Wolverine is that it glosses over his entire history. Within 15 minutes, maybe less, we are already in the 1970s.

I don't see why the 20 year old Magneto and Xavier scenes need to be flashbacks. I have no problem if the movie simply starts that early and progresses from there.

Agreed. As much as I'd love to see Stewart and McKellen back in those role, an entire movie with younger versions of the characters would make a great movie too.

I'm guessing the villain will be someone that follows Professor X and Magneto through the years. If that's the case I think it might be Mr. Sinister. It could be kind of like that episode of the TAS where Professor X's ancestor was an acquaintance of Nathaniel Essex, who was then still just a researcher who was extremely interested in evolution and eventually took his interest too far. In this story Essex might be a researcher who meets Eric and Charles during their early years and returns as Mr. Sinister when they start the school.

I hope Moira plays a role in the movie as well.

you know Lucifer and the shadow king will work just as fine as sinister Deaths Head II. I'd rather save sinister for X4. besides those were Xavier's first enemies. they can use Lucifer for the human side and hate humans have on mutants. and it'll be a great way to show Xavier saving storm when she was young. and why he started this in the first place. when he met magneto as well.

Sinister could easily show up in X4 again after appearing in this film. In fact this movie could be used to be set up for an X4.

I wouldn't mind the Shadow King, but I always thought Lucifer was a forgettable villain.

sinister and apoclypes and d' ken are something mainly for scott. and alex and their two there sibs. and scott kids as I see it. I want to see him but i think he can wait. be sides he was what manipluated scotts and his familys lives he did it to others but the large scale stuff wan on on thatsummer family and the mutant and human world was second at times.


lucifer doesn't have to be forgettable here though death head II, and seeing that he would be the start of the hate race crimes thing on mutants.

I'm sure some thing can be a arranged, he was what made Xavier go down this path still and made him not be able to walk for most of his life.

Besides I see this as ending on his death but what he started is what shakes Mag's to his core.

So he'll leave lasting bad memories and Effects for both prof X and Mags. especially if he was one of the people that ran the camps magneto was in. yeah it'll go very well with race hate thing here. and why Mag's has issues over it and can't forgive. what lucifer does to them and the students he's the very reason magneto snaps.

Just think about it.

I'm a fan of comic Wolverine ( not really Jackman movie Wolverine ). But please, there ARE other mutants beside Wolverine ( shocking...I know ).

A brief cameo in a bar or something....or maybe a passing mention/reference might be ok....but Wolverine does NOT need to star in this movie and hog the spotlight again.......

however, Wolverine IS the cash cow of the franchise....and knowing Fox, they'll find some way to work him in.....

oh wait....I know......Xavier will entrust Wolverine with a very special mission....to track down and recruit a team of powerful young mutants to stop a world threat..............>_<

especially with fox's and singers obsession with him. I like hugh though. he's alikable guy. but the obsession his bosses for his character this film have. ugh. and it may also be an issue of on that too who knows? Lets hope not.

And please no cameo onec they start putting that in it'll be come some thing bigger in the finished work some how. No cameo please.

^ I agree 100%. I think that's one of the most important things to consider, because a 100 minute X-men film just isn't satisfying. And this movie definitely has enough there to be as long as X2, especially if they are starting as far back as twenty year old Xavier and Magneto.

I agree with this so much.

I'm not as worried as much for Wolverine stealing the spotlight because it doesn't feel very likely at this point but a running time that is too short feels almost guaranteed since it's being made by Fox and everything. And this is an origin movie that might span several years of story. It needs a longer run time.

I certainly hope Bryan Singer does a 2 hour film.X2 Is the only X-Men film
not too short.

I could see the first 25-30 Minutes on the twentish Xavier and Magneto.
Then jumping to shortly after the events of Wolverine with the now fortish
Xavier brings Cyclops and other Mutants escaped from Stryker arriving at the
mansion.Fortish magneto Is there with other already recruited students
Jean Grey,Storm,and Beast among others.

Back In 2000 Bryan Singer stated Protues was one of his favorate X-Men
characters after become Involved with X-Men and exploring the Universe.
There Is a possiblty here of him as the villian.I could see Singer having
Moira bring him to school to get help for him perhapes against Magneto's
objections.Like In X-Men Children of the atom the first group of X-Men
gather to defeat him and save Xavier.The aftermath has Xavier crippled
and convinces Magneto he can no longer work with Xavier,and leave.

I don't want Protues to cripple Xavier I want it to be lucifer with humans startin grace riot starting the strain that got mags to where he is. It makes sense more then Protues will ever do.

And will have lasting effect on both mags and Xavier on why the split between them happened. though if he were to use proteus in manipulating him..... hmmm.
