Sequels X-Men: First Class

I’m interested to see how Singer approaches some of the characters and issues presented in the movies he didn’t direct but were slated to be a part of his X-Men 3. Jean Grey and her Phoenix backstory, as presented in The Last Stand, could be touched upon. Also, Emma Frost, whom Singer wanted to introduce as a villain in X-Men 3, has a good chance of appearing, given her role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In addition, Singer will finally get to work with his favorite character, Beast.
His options are limited since he can't really "continue" whatever he developed with the first two films.

As for Emma, well...let's just pray his original idea of having Sigourney Weaver play her, never resurfaces again.

You're talking to someone who liked that idea :woot:, but it obviously isn't any good to anyone anymore.

I hope wolverine is no where NEAR this movie, not because I hate the character but I'm sik of all the focus on him. there ARE other x-men

It has nothing to do with her battle for more screen-time, at least not what I'm talking about. The thing with Halle Berry is that she isn't a very good Storm, regardless of the amount of screen-time she has or who's directing her. Berry is good in other movies, but she never really took off with Storm.
I still blame the writers and singer on changing the character there. among other things that werent nessary to change.

But it's still their fault. she can only work with what she's given. oh well. which is another I'm not sure if this is a good idea.

I feel we'll get more of the same some how. shudders.

yeah every one else fan wise wants to learn more on the other X-men it's been stated alot since X2. by ever type of fan possible. movie fans and the ones that have touched the comics . But some how the people fox hires aren't capable of grasping this. I can do with out for a long time they can do sequel saying x 9 and 10 and I 'd still not want to see him cause of what they did. those feel like wolverine moves. so his solo franchise movies feel like sequels to his already done movies. Man they should rename them. Anyways I don't want to see him for a very long time.

sorry hugh.

X1, 2 and 3 definately feel like wolverine movies which 'happen' to have other x-men

To be honest I am kinda bummed Singer is directing First Class, I was hoping someone else would take the reins for FC and Singer would get working ona genuine X4 that would hopefully ret-con a lot of X3.

FC just doesnt really interest me as a property even as an X-Men fan.

good news, but hopefully this isn't just a Scott/Jean and hopefully Emma(if she is used) flick, I want to see Storm/Beast get developed also use Thunderbird since he persona is similar to Logan's...i knw ppl thrive on Magento being a reoccuring villian, but for this one he should be on the sidelines and lets actually make the Government the main atagonist...we have the chance for a younger Sen.Kelly and Trask(he'll have to be a young black actor), Sentinels, & FOH(friends of humanity)

I have faith in Singer & his writers and I believe they will do a good job piecing together the background of jean/phoenix from X3 and where Xavier & the mutants left out from XMO:W

a part of me thinks 1st class should focus on Xavier trying to track Eric using cerebro, his closed door sessions w/jean, Beast taking the role of Forge(since he should be older), Scott living up to being a good leader, and a love triangle w/Jean & Emma(not to overdone though)Storms hatred for humanity and dealing w/mutant sentiment building up in the public/Government

I was hoping he was coming back for a true sequel to the X-men movies or at least the second Wolverine movie. First Class seems like such a bad idea since there a good chunk of characters he cant use. No Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Gambit, Iceman, Kitty, and Rogue.

They need to push the franchise forward no more prequel crap.

Woah!Hell Yeah!

I hope Singer brings some fresh stuff to the franchise. This is a pivotal point in the X-Men story. Even though he probably won't use Magneto as the villain, I hope we get to see the friendship dissolve and the X-men rise to their first challenge.

And I hope he cuts loose in terms of showing off their abilities.

I'm just hoping after this he makes X-men 4 .

First class definately has potential now

I can't believe it, I can look forward to another X-Men film being made! :o

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH!

Welcome back Bryan!

Singer being on board for this movie might be the worst news I've heard all year:csad:

After seeing Iron man be faithfull and successful it left a bad taste in my mouth for xmen and spiderman. I want both franchises relaunched under the marvel banner with a real attention to what made the characters great.

I wanted this movie to show the original five the real original five like the comic first class it's brilliant. Now we'll just get more of the same garbage :cmad:

Awesome! Singer directing a film that doesn't focus on Wolverine, count me in!

I couldn't be more excited for Singers return! This is terrific news!

Looks like the X-Men fans and the Superman fans who hated SR got their wish and Singer is back to the mutant world with First Class. Many fans´ll be happy to hear that apparently it will feature Cyclops and no Wolverine for a change.

But I still wanted really bad to see Singer´s version of the Dark Phoenix Saga...

Glad to hear that Singer is back!

Just one problem that was brought up in the past. Who in the hell is the villian/threat going to be?

I said this awhile ago but who can they use as a villian that won't make their fight with Magneto in the first one look like a piece of cake(since they seemed to have trouble with it). Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse are definitely out of the picture, only decent one would be the Hellfire Club.

That would work if they are going (which I assume they are) that storm is a young founding member they could base it around finding her and freeing her of his influence.

I'm really pleased with this news. I haven't looked forward to an X-men film since 2003.

Hellfire Club would be great. Also would love to see the Friends of Humanity in some capacity and a hint towards Project Wide Awake (sentinels)

this is....."interesting".....to say the least.

After what Singer did with SR....I'm not too keen on him directing another CB movie. While I did enjoy his X-men and X2 movies, looking back, there were alot of things he dropped the ball on.....

I wonder if Singer is going to be "bound" by what he did himself in X1 and X2 ( as well as what happened in X3 and Wolverine ).......

Or, perhaps, Singer will take this chance to "retcon" the whole franchise and start anew........with the benefit of hindsight, perhaps he can fix the things he got wrong the first time around......and deliver a "proper" X-men movie.....

Same here. I was pretty much done with everything X-flick until something notable enough for me to lessen my deeply entrenched cynicism toward the studio.

This will do. I want to see how this shapes up. :xmen:
