I just read that IGN AU review...and with the way it reads, it sounds like he enjoyed the game for the most part (he really liked the combat, the boss battles, and the graphics at times) but a few graphical glitches, level design near the end of the game, and enemy choices annoyed him. If I had read the review not knowing the rating...I'd say he'd give it at least an 8. A 6.9 just doesn't make much sense, especially when he said it's the best Wolverine game to date and X2 Wolverin's revenge on PS2 got a 7.3 on IGN...

Overall...I'd say don't pay much mind to this review. It's inconsistant and EVERYONE on the gamefaq.com boards for the xbox360 and PS3 versions who've gotten the game early have raved about it. And those folk are usually the most fickle bunch of all.

That's good to know. The reason I asked is judging from the gameplay videos and from the Wolverine character standpoint, it makes him too powerful.

I find the Lunge illogical too; because if he could Lunge at an enemy 30 to 40 feet away, that would imply he's got super-strong legs, then that means he could jump very high; so when I saw gameplay video of him pulling an object so he can stand on it and reach something and start climbing I was thinking, "hey, why doesn't he jump, he's got super-strong legs!" lol

Its a unique and innotive touch to the game, otherwise it would be a downgrade of a Devil May Cry game.

I got the game today from a local store. This game is a bag of fun. The only gripe I have with it is sometimes the camera angle messes up. Other than that it's really badass. I'm glad it wasn't rated T cause this game is violent

Bought the game on ps2 and have already completed it

thoughts

• Really wished the sentienel was in the ps2 version but oh well
• Surprisingly good graphics for a ps2 game
• Agent zero's voice was a little annoying "Heeeyyy Logannnn,"
• Loved wade's lines during the team x levels
• Nice combo attacks, lunge mode was awesome
• better boss fights than other recent x-men games, had an awesome fight with wade at the end
• BLOOD, which was awesome
• lol at blob's lines in the boxing level "I've had gas thats stronger than you" or "Your knives don't scare me, they make me want to carve a turkey"
• would have loved some alt costumes, but the jeans and singlet looks badass enough i guess
• a little too short, finished in 7 hours

All in All a great game for the ps2 8/10

Noticed something nice. Someone on the Raven team must be a Devil May Cry fan. I could swear when I fought with Creed in the Bar and hit the Juke Box, I heard the music track from DMC3 when Dante fights in his office.

Shops are closed on friday in my place, we even got to see Wolverine movie on monday. =P

This game is brutal! That first scientist he killed by shoving his claws down his throat then slicing him down the middle. Suh-weet!

I see what people have been saying about the camera at some points, but that's a minor foible.

I think I may actually buy this rather than renting after all. I don't think I can wait the few weeks before demand on the game lets up on my rental service.

Okay more thoughts on the game, i'm level 13 atm and loving it. The combat gets slightly more tactical as you get soldiers that you simply can't leap onto, theres also bigger thugs such as the project Wendigo soldiers which are immersively cool. I just got the classic wolverine costume, you get it by finding 2 statues of the classical costume, i've found 1 statue of the Legendary costume so far aswell. When i got the 2 statues of classic i got into a challange room vs. the classic wolfie, he was abit rough at first but on my 2nd try (used the mutagen "unstoppable" which decreases damage taken" i got him down, when he goes Berserk you better avoid him and time your leaps well, and don't try any running away tactic to regen health because this Wolvie does it too. Loving the game so far, i'd give it already an 8/10 this early, maybe after i finish it and get the gamestop Weapon X arena thing a try, i might even give it a 10/10 review. It really is innotive with the leap, because otherwise it would be a cheap man's Devil may cry.

PS. I love the humour on this game, hugh Jackman is so funny in this game. ^_^

What are the cut-scenes and that like? Any boss battles yet?

I've fought Sabretooth once, it was the bar fight from the movie and so forth, its also funny because the opening cinematic (which to me, was better than the whole movie) shows Wolverine withouth a memory, so we go to a flash back... and in the flash back we go to a flash back at times too! So yeah "yo dawg, we heard you liked flash backs so we putted a flash back in your flash back" =P

The bosses mostly tho are just extra hard villains later on, after you get used to them, its like the cyclops of GoW. At first they seem tough but you get the hang of it later on.

PS. Magneto gets a reference when i escape the weapon X Facility, they talked about a guy who escaped them before being able to bent metal by his will.
