X-Men - Part 6

So, is Sabertooth still inverted, but also back to being a scary a**hole?
cuz the opposite of old Sabertooth would be like, someone super nice and empathetic, I would think

but I guess they thought that was boring, so they decided on plain old Sabes minus the homicidal urges...?

he attacked a guy and said there was a time when he would have killed him but lucky for him, he's now the kinder, gentler Sabretooth. He also saved a guy by telling him to play dead, implying the other X-men would kill him. There wasnt any outright deaths but it looked like Magneto and M were killing people so far what its worth, this Sabretooth draws the line there

The whole inversion stuff was so stupid...

The Hobgoblin mini was great, too.

Granted I didn't real a lot of that stuff outside of the godawful Axis, but I didn't even know how the inversion worked. They kept their personalities but their Dungeons and Dragons alignment switched?

I would have liked to see them invert Magneto and him stay exactly the same. "What? I change sides and motivations on a whim."

What would be the point? Magneto is a gray character; not evil or good. He's pretty neutral on the morality scale. You are right in that he likely wouldn't have changed

I think it's a joke, but it goes at why the inversion was kinda dumb. Whose standards of morality is the inversion based off of and who decides what is good or evil?

The only reason I'm considering picking up the Trade of Axis is to get a conclusion to Uncanny Avengers. Other then that, the premise is a huge turn off to me, which is why I've held off buying it.

Jean should stay dead. I've said it before and she helped make the books stagnate with writers trying to keep the love triangle going without character development.

I'd love to see the badass Annihilation version of Nova come back.

My problem was that there was no love triangle. That was a minor plot that was a thing of history until Morrison made it a thing again before killing her. I mean, I can only think of one issue that really dealt with it between X-Tinction Agenda and Morrison's New X-Men. It was the cartoon and movies that made it a thing.

If Marvel could just get past that and move on from the Phoenix crap, she could maybe grow as a character.

exactly. Jean and Logan were never really a thing and have been blown up way out of proportion.

It seems the movies have forced me to think there was more than I thought there was since they never shut up about it.

Calling it. Original Jean, Wolverine, Professor X, Nova and Namor! All on a new team.
The All-New, All-Different Uncanny Undead Avengers.

Lead by the Watcher.

I can't imagine they'd bring back 616 Logan with both Laura and OML running around. And as long as they've stayed committed to Jean and Xavier being dead, I'd be peeved if Logan's demise only lasts a year.

Ya never know, there's gunna be two Caps and multiple Spideys, and there's already basically three Wolverines, they could bring Logan back
Uncanny Avengers is teasing [BLACKOUT]Xavier[/BLACKOUT] again though, so maybe not

About the love triangle, I admit it wasn't a big thing in the comics, it was the movies, New X-Men, the Origins series, and TAS that brought it to such prominence. However, that means it has now been a prominent element of x-lore for at least the past 20 years. That's fairly significant. People who gripe about it not being a thing before kiiinda have to get over it.

And Cyclops is and pretty much always has been an a**hole, especially to women. I'd rather see her with Logan than Scott any day. She deserved someone who loved her, not someone who'd impregnate her clone, dump her, go back to jean, cheat on her, then make out on her grave with the woman he cheated with

The best part about Teen Jean is that she's no longer the prize in Cyclops and Wolverine's dick measuring competition. Jean and Emma aren't rivals over the D anymore, though I'm really missing the latter's presence in the books. Emma and Cyclops are messed up and perfect for each other.

Emma and Cyclops were awful and really ruined each other as characters. The best thing Bendis did was keeping them apart. I wasnt sure their breakup up in Uncanny X-men would last once they were announced to be on the same team
